This is great, along with the new upcoming Facebook feature to check if your friends in Nepal are okay. Glad to see so many companies stepping up for this sad tragedy.

    • Don't miss your station.

      I think you're confusing telco's… :)

    Free calls to Kathmandu?

    • At your local shopping centre

  • This will certainly help many people trying to reach their freinds and family in Nepal.

  • Oh wow, I'm definitely cancelling all of my family's plans tomorrow and signing up with Vodafone. Go Vodafone!

  • Thanks Telstra and Vodafone for your compassion

  • Absolutely brilliant Vodafone. Great gesture.

  • Good on them, but I wouldn't say this was a "DEAL" or a "BARGAIN"

This is a company doing what is right for those who may have friends and families in Nepal.

I always find these gestures interesting as I would have thought at a time of a natural disaster you would want to make sure that the physical infrastructure was available for emergency calls rather than people having a good old chin wag.

Sure it's great to check your loved ones are ok but surely if it is free people do more than this and it just congests an already damaged network.

I've spoken to many random people in Nepal for free, asking them what the weather is like and what they are having for tea. I've not yet spoken to any trapped people but I'm hopeful.

    • Good work, and thank you Vodafone for this amazing bargain!

  • What are Optus doing?

    • Optus is minting money. They are busy promoting home bundle. Busy guys.

  • Its a great plan. But to call from Vodafone, we should get network. we have to climb cellphone tower to get Vodafone signal.
