Philips SHS4700 Earclip Headphones $18.16 @ Dick Smith, Click and Collect Today Only

60

These earclip earphones deliver good sound and were mentioned as an alternative to the KOSS KSC-75 headphones submitted 3 days ago here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191814

I've been using these headphones for about 5 or 6 years now and love them since earphones that insert into the ear give me ear infections no matter how much I try to keep them clean. To my ears the sound quality is quite good. They're compact and fairly sturdy if treated well - I've only been through 2 pairs. Note that the design of these headphones mean that like all earclip types, noise does leak. Some people also have a problem with the way these fit on their ear, while others like me find them very comfortable. One unusual thing about these headphones is that the chord to one headphone is shorter than the other, but I don't find this to be a problem at all. Sound quality is good. These headphones usually retail for around $40 so at less than half price if you're near a DSE and don't want to wait for something shipping from Amazon these might be for you.

Totally up to you. I haven't owned a pair of the KOSS but I'm happy with the Philips. Either way, enjoy your music.

      • No offence, just wanted to point out that the Koss deal was recently posted and got a lot of votes.
Thanks for taking the time to post OP.

  • or pay a little more and get them from Korea @ $18.73 free shipping. At least price does not change in an instant whilst going through PayPal.

Very anti DSE and I may never buy from them again, still waiting for a refund back 30th March even after many emails. They are not very smart in the marketing department that's for sure

    • I've also had trouble with DSE. This purchase went through okay. However after endless trouble with eneloop deals that took a lot of time on the phone to sort, I completely empathize with your sentiment.

  • "Chord" - I C what you did there.

Actually just a typo. I am tired and have a headache. But it's been the result of a good day so I'm not complaining. Please excuse the brain flatulence.

  • Asymetrical (y) cords allow people to have the cord on one side (so what you do is, you get the longer wire behind your neck). I think it had few advantages over having a symmetrical Y cords, but I cannot remember what it exactly was :S

    • It's different so it takes getting use to. Having used these for 5 years it doesn't bother me but it did on the first few days. Fortunately the good sound meant I stuck with it.
