I've got a Citiz+Milk, which is this model with the Aeroccino. I like it.

GOOD: Small footprint, and with the cup-holder folded up the machine fits an actual mug-sized mug.

GOOD: The used-pod bin can go in the dishwasher.

BAD: Off-brand pods take twice as long to pour as original Nespresso pods.

MEH: The bigger Latissima machines make the coffee hotter - which is useful if you add milk. For black coffee, this is fine.

      • Try the Vittoria pods, they work really well.

        • Thank you kindly. I'll have to pop in at Woolies on the way home.

I keep forgetting to order new Nespresso ones, so I have to keep a few backup boxes in the cupboard.

        • @KentT:
Nope, Vittoria ones have the same problem. Takes twice as long as Nespresso pods.

        • @KentT: have you noticed even Nespresso pods with different flavour will take shorter or longer time to pour a cup of coffee? I think it has something to do with density of coffee in the capsule with higher density takes longer.

        • @wtfnodeal:
I normally drink the stronger ones - Kazaar or Dharkan - but I don't think they have a different amount of coffee compared to the others. The Lungos might, but they don't take noticably longer either.

I think it might just be the pod design. Same reason all the third-party pods come individually wrapped in those annoying little bags.

        • @KentT: Really?. wow, I've been using the Italian Blend for a while now, and they crank the coffee out quick in my citiz + milk. The Coles pods and the L'or are slow as you say.

    • Ah cool. Thanks for noting that down, i forgot to add it to the post

  • I've got a few of those Limited Edition New York print designs for this Citiz solo.
I gotta say this design is timeless and classy.
However, this colour (Silver) is pretty much unglam everytime it's being touched….think finger prints.
    Other colours are fine.

    • I have a Silver one. It's matte - no fingerprints.

This shiny one is called Chrome.

  • Is this the only model eligible for the cashback? What about the others like Nespresso U?

    • The only other one i saw in the Myer Catalogue is the Nespresso Maestria capsule coffee machine in black only down to $399 (Plus $100 cashback) so $299

Nespresso U is eligible for cashback as well.
Another good machine, the very 1st machine which ejects the used capsules automatically.

      • Thanks buy1sttalklater, exactly what I was thinkng. I may actually consider getting this one. It's a bit more expensive but also includes an Aerocino.

        • You gotta be careful when you buy the U and they now sell mostly U solo, which means without frother.

The other option is U-Milk but frother is stuck to the U machine.

Maybe try DJ, they still have some old stocks of those U with separate frother.

        • @buy1sttalklater:

I don't really need the frother (only drink black coffee at home) and the U model is great value for $119 after the cashback.

Dunno what features the Citiz has over the U, but to me they all make the same coffee (19 bars pressure)…

      $10 less

"Dunno what features the Citiz has over the U"

        Style.

      • you can compare them here

      • Pulled the trigger on the U Pure Solo. At $119 after the cashback it's great value for someone who doesn't need the frother.

        • U milk was once as low as $109 when TGG ebay had 30% off discount code. Now I regret i didn't buy one.

        • @wtfnodeal:

          Wow…that is seriously cheap.

I'm actually having second thoughts now after doing a Click'n'Collect last night (haven't received a pick up confirmation as of yet), and considering doing a cancellation / refund, especially after reading about the reliability issues of the U and the fact that it doesn't work well (or at all) with some compatible capsules.
