100L Steel Wheelbarrow $79 @ Masters

310

Just found this on Facebook. Available in-store from Saturday morning. Good luck :)

The cheapest 100L steel one at Bunnings is $149. No idea on the quality of either.

Here's a blue one on Masters eBay store for $169. Only difference seems to be a wider tyre.

  • Really curious to find out what this is like as I am looking for one and was going to buy the masters 55 dollar one for general gardening work.

Does anyone know if this would rust?

      Bunnings has a poly 100 litre $45 …no rust

these are great for moving pine bark around, however not good for a full load of wet concrete.

          for general gardening work.

That's all lance wants it for….

FYI- Have used mine for years hauling wet concrete never missed a beat. The powdercoating eventually chips of the metal ones and ends up in your slab finish.

        • Why is that? Does the poly bend too much? Harder to clean?

        • +2

I have a poly one (not this particular one) and have done countless loads of mixing concrete in it. Is great for that. Doesn't rust, easy to clean, can bump it and it bounces back (metal dings and paint pops off). After about 10-12 years of extensive use, the poly is still in good condition (scratched from spade, etc scraping in it, but no other damage to poly), just the bolts holding the poly down are rusting. I probably should replace them soon.

Both my dad and I have these and the wheel bearings collapsed after about three light loads.

          Which one, poly or steel?

          @tightarse:

Why was this comment down voted?

I think he is referring to the poly 45 dollar one but its not clear so I think its a valid question to ask.

        • @tightarse:
          Poly.

      • I only need it to spread bark figured its cheaper to buy bark in bulk and pay a bit for a wheel barrow as opposed to get it in 20 litre bags which would work out more expensive considering the area that I have.

      • I have one of these Bunnings wheelbarrows, the handles are rusted through after a few months only.

        • did you keep it outside or under cover? also does this mean I need to spray it with something to stop it rusting?

if the handles are rusted after a few months arent you entitled to get a replacement as to me this is something that should be covered by warranty since it is not wear and tear.

      • @crohns

        …no rust

the handles on the one you linked to are not galvanised so they will rust a lot quicker

        • If it is the sameone that I bought from bunnings few years back, it is galvanised, but it did end up rusting.

        • Not if you look after it..no rust on mine.
Always hosed clean and stored dry.

        • @crohns: Exactly. But yours will still rust before this one because it's not galvansied

          I won't live that long….don't care.lol

  • this 100L steel wheelbarrow is $95 and has the wider tyre making it a lot easier with heavier loads, more sturdy too: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900016180/100l-steel-tray…

  • I've had the blue one for a few years. Bolts are rusting, tray is holding up well.

At this price, this is a steel

Just popped down and bought one. I've got another one around the side of the house but has a burst wheel. I've left it in the elements for 2 years. Still going strong but can't find cheap enough wheel for it. The wheels are around the same price as a new wheel barrow! Anyone know where to go for a cheap tyre?

Also the masters at nerang only has about 5 of these left.

    • Can you replace the tube? Bunnings sells tubes for most wheel barrows

      • Thanks for the suggestion but the whole wheel is torn tread included.

  • use this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192592 for 10% off

EDIT: sorry that's for online only and this is instore only
