If you check past prices, these usually sells for less.

Yea, I got it for around $20 a while back

      expired - $17.99 + Delivery - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/109233

      • This is why I love ozbargain. I thought this current price was a bargain and was going to buy it "just in case." You guys have saved me $36.98 and even more in buyer's remorse!

        • +1

Yeah I got a few for $20 delivered, though I don't think they've ever repeated it (or likely ever will) but I'm certain they'll do sub 30, so best waiting it out if you can.

      • I got mine for $25.39 delivered off the eBay store last year on this particular sale in July.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/153144

  • This is advertised on their email as $26.98 though with the same coupon at check out.

I'd be fighting for the extra $10 off. Makes this closer to the all time low price of $17.99

    • Yes the Take $50 Off These Items banner on the front page of the Dick Smith web site even shows it as $26.98. So it should be that $26.98 not $36.98. To advertise is as $76.98 normal price and have it under the $50 off selection with a so called $50 off that normal price and then charge $36.98 for it would be false advertising.

I think some one has accidentally configured the $50 off coupon as $40. I'd be fighting that mistake to get the extra $10 off for the correct $50 off.

  • my one recently blew up
i bought it for $20 duringhtat sale few years ago

dick exchanged it. so happy that on the exchange receipt it said the price of $76 wife didnt believe i paid $20 for it

Did you have a lot of devices plug in?
Were any of the devices damaged?

      • Only ever had the tv all the time and from time to time ps4 soundbar iron and charger
        None were damaged
The lights flickered and then they dimmed out to be very pale
Didnt take the risk in continuing to use it.
        5 yr warranty

No response time stated, useless if it's not <1ns.

  • Have contacted Dick Smith via Twitter. Code works now. Price is $26.98

    • Yes it's obvious that some one accidentally configured the $50 coupon as $40. Hope those who ordered it as $36.98 will get a $10 refund.

  • Four-way (cross-shaped) mounting holes is one overlooked detail that makes me a fan of these. None of that single-orientation, keyhole-shaped mounting hole crap.

  • I think invest a whole house surge protection (around $150 not include installation charge) would be better.

    • Surges can be created within your house too, such as fridge compressor kicking in/out.
