Project CARS for $78 (PS4/XB1) at Big W

10

FINALLY a decent racing car for the new generation of consoles!

Just found out that the game was released yesterday (07/05) and after some search I was very SURPRISED to find JB-Hi-Fi to have the cheapest price for $79 for all versions. (CHEAPER AT BIGW, FIXED link)

Couldn't find a Limited Edition for PS4 yet

  • This is the standard price and has been for weeks… BigW has it for $78..

    not a bargain

    • Any price for a next generation game (that isn't a remake) scoring above 6/10 from most reviewers is a bargain!

well… not quite… the RRP is $99.95… i wouldn't call it a bargain either, but it is one of the cheapest local prices and they also show it in store as the limited edition for $79… meaning anyone with a EB pre-order for the limited edition can get it for $79 like I did yesterday :D

pretty sure BigW's price is for the standard edition

    • Standard price for weeks?? It just came out yesterday!

    • Not a bargain. Target has it on Xbox one for $74 while ps4 strangely enough scanned for $89.00

  • Car? Do you mean game?

  • Bought it yesterday and loving it with my wheel but this price isn't a bargain.

Xbox One and PC are the limited edition version of the game for the same price.

They were selling the Limited edition version for $79 if you pre-ordered… (At least that's what I bought).

I would be a little annoyed to get the standard version for that price, something $70 or lower would be an oz bargain.

  • Beware of wheel problems, ghosting, <55fps and poor AI on PS4 version. Another unfinished AAA release.

    • I'm happy with it, haven't had any issues with the AI, its a lot better than other racers

      • Cool, I'm gonna wait until things get ironed out. I got caught by DC and what effects one player might not effect another. I also want to buy a wheel to play it (and other racers) vut thats pointless if there are issues with most of them. Besides, DAT backlog.

  • mwahahaha said the PC player…. :) j/k

  • Finally?! You haven't played Forza Horizon 2 have you…

    • can I buy it for PS4?

    • +1

forza is like mario kart compared to proper racing sims

    • Ha, fair enough. I do play more serious sims too.

Still, it certainly qualifies as 'decent'…

      • I do agree horizon 2 looks beautiful, and is more suited to controllers than serious sims

  • non-simulation racing games should be categorized as "Action / Adventure"

    • +1

      No.

  • I think that this game is even better than Assetto Corsa (Steam)…
This is due to the realism (awesome graphics), the amount of cars and tracks available and customization.
This makes for an extremely immersive experience… AWESOME !!! Better force feedback for Logitech G27 and it would be perfect…
    Works great at 5760 x 1080 (3 x 1080p screens)…

Best PC price in US dollars (was 5% cheaper for Facebook Like - Code emailed out):

Standard Edition (NOT Digital Edition. NO EXTRA CARS - DLC's) : http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/project-cars-pc-cd-key-steam
Limited Edition - Downloadable (Says all DLC's included): http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/project-cars-limited-edition-…

I bought this game for both of my Steam accounts. It is that good…If only I could play them both at the same time ;)
