8pk Panasonic Eneloop Batteries (4x AA + 4x AAA) $5.00 @ Masters Scoresby [VIC]

670

I think this is a pretty good price for eneloops. There were several packs still available at the Scoresby [VIC]Masters store (ferntree gully rd) at ~1.00pm. You might be lucky to get them now. As this is a clearance I am not sure if this is happening at other Masters stores.

First of all eneloops are not crap and secondly who is she to stop a man from buying eneloops at a sale price.

Is it still the older batch made in Japan?

Being Panasonic branded as well as 65%'ers, most likely Chinese. Happy to be wrong though!

      • +1

        They are Chinese.

  • Where about were they in store? In a clearance bin? The stock at my local (South morang) is full price $29.95

    • +1

Masters in Knoxfield is renovating the store so its likely not all stores will have them at that price.

  • JV needs some more.

Only because he ate all the chocolat ones

I bet it's a shock to his digestive system

        • Yeah, yet might result in positive changes after finding a recharge in his energy levels ;)

  • Are the other stores match price?? Anyone??

    • i asked about a dyson been cheaper at box hill store and if my local would match that price, they said it was in store special and they don't match themselves.
      No sale from me.

you might have better luck but i wouldnt be surprised if they said no

  • Whats the cycle like on these?
Need some for a cordless house phone which gets used quite a lot during business hours. As you can imagine on and off the charging unit, in use for a couple mins or 30mins.

I got about a year out of pair Eneloops. Would not recommend it. Just buy some cheapie NiMH ones. My Maha could not recover the cells. Dead as a nail.

      • Ok thanks for that.
We actually have nimh in them at the moment and they have been in there since we got the phone. I'm thinking over 3-4years?
They are still going good except one of the handsets runs out a bit quicker than the others.
Panasonic ones if anyone wants to know. Actually quite impressed with them when I think about it. They have lasted way longer than expected.

        • One possible reason he only got a year is probably the recharging method his phone uses, and not the Eneloops. Whether a dedicated charger or a device with built in charging, the method of charging is relevant. Most chargers are dumb and this kills batteries.

I got 3 yrs from the supplied Panasonic batteries in my Panasonic phone set (these are likely Eneloops anyway given Panasonic has always owned part of the Eneloop brand). I have only recently had to replace them with Eneloops.

EDIT: His post below confimrs its a dumb charger.

    • Just hide the charging cradle and only charge when the low batt indicator lights up?

      • That wouldn't work because if you leave it till low battery then need to make an urgent call that takes a long time, the battery may run out

    • Do you need a different charging regime for NiCAD and NiMH? My cordless phones all came with NiCAD, so their charger would probably kill NiMH quickly - could explain why they only lasted a year for jlogic.

      • +1

Nah it was NiMh originally in there. The issue was the charger was a dumb charger who kept charging even though the batteries were charged.

I did the charge when low batt was on but that was painful and you needed to remember to take it off. In the end I just binned the phone and now I don't get marketing calls and don't have to worry about the batteries.

  • Noooo. Got here too late. sold out. they're all gone =(

Were there even 10 to begin with?

  • Any at box Hill south?

  • What Eneloops from a store other than DSE who would have heard of such a thing?.
Scarey thought now not only are we going to be bombarded by Eneloop deals from DSE we will also be bombarded by Master's Eneloop deals

I've got envelops from 2009 and still working as they should

    • +3

I also got an "envelop" from 1990 and its still working as it should.

      • +3

        lol damned the iPad autocorrect!

        • Might be because they don't take Eneloops

      • *fail - for thinking his iPad spelt envelope.

Don't even try to work it out. It is enveloping you with confusion.

  • Everyone see this post will think they were being ripped off by DSE

  • has anyone else seen this at other Master stores?

    • +1

None at Chullora NSW, they are full priced at $29.

  • +1
