  • DWI normal price is $355 they are out of stock at the moment.

Rather pay a bit more for a cyanogen OnePlus.

    • I agree, as good of a deal as this is, the Zenfone seems subpar in a few key areas and the Oneplus One is more polished

    • +3

I think I'd rather pay the same and get an LG G3.

      • But the problem is you cannot get LG G3 at that price.

        • Not at $355 from dwi that's out of stock, but at the $425ish that this deal is, yes you can.

        • Appologies, I didn't try it with the code.

$380 AUD is definitely a more tempting, but only if it had the Z3580.

    • Your link is for 2GB RAM, OP is 4GB RAM.

    • No 2GB Ram but Taiwan version with Optus 4G supported.

      • Thanks for clarifying.

  • +3

I wonder how long it will take till someone works out how to dualboot with win8.1 x86

Would be good deal if it was the Taiwan version.

Was really interested in the Zenfone 2 when I first heard about it and it's apparently low pricing. I say apparently because it quickly ramps up for the higher specs.

This one for example isn't even the faster Z3580 processor, and yet it's still around the same price as the LG G3 which is arguably the better phone.

The only advantage I can really see at this point is the dual sim and the minor possibility that someone may figure out how to get Win 10 on it, thanks to the intel processor.

    Am I missing something?

yeah im not sure about this phone the intel chip worrys me for compatibility. and really it just looks like any other china copycat phone. Why not just go the full chinaphone?

with some coupon codes these prices come way down. I got an mlais M52 5.5 2gb 720p oct core for $117 US during that devices pre sale, other than being stuck on kitkat thus far, im am incredibly impressed with the phone. And if I have to use it as a blunt force weapon, well so be it.

    • No complaints? Oddly enough I'm just skeptical it'd be a good phone being so cheap. Also did you buy from gearbest?

      • It was discussed as being cheaper before release. My current $300 phone has 2gb of Ram and a great screen, there are good cheap models, but they often have some issues. If in doubt, read the forums.

      • Yeah worth reading the forums. Honestly I had a china phone 18 months ago, and it was a but of a let down. They have really cleaned up their act. I bought from gearbest, honestly they were really good it take a few days to ship out then they send you a photo of the package and tracking number then it took about 5 days from then. The only issue i have found with the mlais m52 on the kit kat rom is the battery drops from 20% really fast. I think a metering issue. My wife is using the phone now and if there was any minor thing wrong with it i'd now about it. Its a s$%tload less buggy than her old S3. Most china phone are pretty much vanilla android now. Which is awesome.

I like them because i dont like putting my phone in a case. and the no updates thing dosent bother me because ill get move on in less than 24 months so your only really missing out on one cycle. The lollipop upgrade on the m52 is plagued with problems but im waiting to see if they iron out the bugs as the device is fine on kitkat. I was so happy with the m52 i ordered an m4 for $130 US using code "m4" a couple of days later. They look pretty good, processor slower etc but should be better on power. and come with lollipop out of the box. an OTA update came out two days ago so hopefully theres some support for a while. I suspect my wife will nab that one off me as its better looking and ill use the M52.

        • Also the camera is a bit average. Though i think its better than my old moto g and maybe equal to my wifes old s3 its just with such a big screen you can see the disappointing image just after you take it rather than see how bad its look on a pc screen further down the track. These china phones all have the same 8mp sensor.

    • I wouldn't get a cheap chinaphone. I bought one last year and I've had all sorts of problems with it. Random restarts, broken GPS and all sorts of other issues. They don't offer updates or support so you're stuck with what you get.

  • wonder when is Australian Network shutting down the 2G(2nd sim card slot on these dual sim phones) support?

    • You should be able to set both sim cards as 3G or 4G on this phone.

  • Still tossing up whether to take back my Moto G2 for a refund at Costco and getting this. My main needs are dual SIM and I feel the Moto G2 is lagging a bit sometimes.

    • Do u use dual sim for dual data as well? I purchased dual sim lg g3 but ended up selling it and bought moto G2. Reason was G3 2nd sim only allows 2G while G2 has 3G for both so i can simply switch tray to use other data. But yes G2 lags due to low memory.

  • I know Zenfone 2 is supposed to be superior to Lenovo K3 Note but as a comment in this youtube video comparing the two phones the Lenovo seems to have better screen? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfI279NJkJw

  • Be aware I tried to purchase a phone from Geekbuying in the past. They proceeded to try and milk me for an extra $40 for regional freight even though I'm not in a regional classified area according to DHL. Took a month to get a refund because i refused to pay. Just a warning, they were dodgy.

    • Looks like Geekbuying was provided with an incorrect list and that's why they insisted that you were in a remote area. I can see why you would call them dodgy.

  • Kogan is selling asus zenfone 2 for $229
