  • Hey there,

I'm actually looking for a chair right now!!!

Was looking at this - GT Omega EVO Office Chair:

    http://www.gtomegaracing.com/gt-omega-racing-gaming-office-c…

How does AKRacing compare? Any good reviews?

    • +2

I haven't actually used a GT Omega so i couldn't compare and even if i did it would look biased. :) Have a look on google for AK Racing Chair reviews. There should be a good few reviews to look at. If you have any other questions let me know.

      • Hi AK,

You mentioned a larger range coming soon? Do you have a ETA? Is there a link to see your other chairs? Need a good one soon and want to get the right one. Thanks.

        • Hi shopbot. You can check out http://akracingeurope.eu/ ETA would be atleast 60-90 days. Let me know which ones you think we should be getting next.

    • Hey mate,

      Just found this review.

Sounds good… could have been a paid review but it also gives a comparison of all the other chairs in terms of specifications. (includes DXracer too)

      • Hi ProjectZero,

Yes theres a good few reviews out there. I remember reading one on overclockers uk forum which was quite in depth and not a paid review. I can not say for certainty which ones if any are paid. We have just launched in Australia and have not done any paid / sponsored reviews.

      • Thanks. I just watched another review on YouTube. The guy is 6 1 and fits him pperfectly. I'm 5 8. Hmmmmmm…..

Welcome and thanks for the discount to the community AK.

Just some suggestions for the product descriptions:
    * Looks like they are but can't see it mentioned anywhere if the arm rests are adjustable.
    * what are differences between player and Nitro models? is it just the size?
    * Might help to disclose the materials the seat part of the chair is made up of. PU Leather and fabric im guessing but again handy to know.

    Cheers

      Hi Osiris,

Thanks for the feedback. The arm rests are adjustable up and down, and can be removed from the chair if there not wanted. The main difference is the size and the design. The arm rests, base and gas unit are the same. The material is PU Leather.

      • Thanks for the quick response and confirming the details AKR.

        • No problems, i'm not sure why someone would down vote your comment but these are all good questions and we want feedback like this so that we can improve our content.

It seems you have competition in http://www.dxracer.com.au

    • +4

Competition is good for the consumer.

      • True.

I am curious, neither you nor your competitor list the maximum weight limit for these chairs.

Officeworks does on their chairs - it's normally somewhere between 80kg (cheap chairs) and 200kg (expensive chairs), depending on the quality of the chair…

A lot of pro gamers have incredibly fat asses and weigh a lot. How much do these chairs support without breaching warranty?

My favourite chair is this one

        http://www.dxracer.com.au/dxracer-pc-gaming-chairs/dxracer-z…

        • +1

Both the Player and Nitro series have 150kg weight limit.

          @AKRacing:

I'm not in the market for a chair (though these look pretty good), but my hat goes off to you for promptly answering all questions raised. Often is the case a new rep turns up and disappears once the product is questioned.

        • @Click_It: Thanks Click_It, i appreciate your comments.

          @AKRacing:

Pleasure. Oh, and welcome to OzBargain :)

    • +3

I doubt it since both websites list the same contact us address haha

    • DXracer and AKRacer are distributed by the same company in australia LOL

      No competition.

  • +1

Woo. These are some pretty looking chairs!!!

    • Thanks tomleonhart!.

  • Hi Rep,

Quite interested in treat my butt to a new chair for gaming but just wanted to ask about warranty, how long is it? What does it cover etc.?

At $300+ I'm hoping for a decent warranty as the gas unit of my current chair gave out after a year and abit… given that was about $100 lol.

Finally… Welcome to OzB, may you bring us more bargains in the future =)

    • Hi Project Zero,

We offer a life time warranty on the steel frame and 2 years on parts. This does not include natural wear and tear on the pu leather.

      • Cheers mate,

This does not include natural wear and tear on the pu leather.

Yeah I wouldn't expect this part too be included

        2 years on parts

I'm assuming the gas unit would be included in this?

        • Yes that part is definitely included.

        • @AKRacing: Finally decided to pull the trigger. Cheers Rep.

        • @ProjectZero: Got mine yesterday and put it together, looks great and feels great. Thanks Rep!

Only problem I had was putting the side plastic covers on… they were abit hard to do as a result I might have screwed one side on too tight and can't actually get the bolt back out… Otherwise great seat and new car smell =)

        • @ProjectZero: I'm glad you like it ProjectZero! Just need to make sure there is no material cause when your screwing the bolt it.

        • @AKRacing: I made sure no material was caught when screwing the bolt in… it was just really tight, also, I think the bolt started screwing into the plastic cover as well… so one side has a bolt stuck in the plastic covers lol

        • @ProjectZero:

Now that you've had it for a couple of days how is it going? Is it a chair you could sit in gaming at the computer and working at the computer fine?

        • +1

@Osiris: Yeah mate, really confortable. Issues I found were minor, like the neck pillow strap could be more elastic (the pillow is always resting too high or too low) and the lumbar support pillow should have some way of securing it to the chair (tends to move around as you readjust your seating posture once in awhile) but otherwise, it is really nice.

My butt doesn't hurt anymore after a good 5 hr session of GTA online unlike my crappy $100 one I got from OW. Nice new car smell too =)

        • @ProjectZero:

Thanks for the response Project, sounds like a good chair thinking of taking the jump myself and moving on from the $88 OW chair hehe.

        • @Osiris: Lol, just wanted to add that the chair I got is the nitro. The player may be different… regardless it's an upgrade from OW chairs, but it does cost ~$330 so you kind of expect it to be better.

  • Hi Rep, I am interested in the player gaming chair, I've noticed on the european website, they're throwing in a colour matching headphones this month, can you do this for us for every purchase as well?

    • Hi Jimmy,

Unfortunately we can't offer this deal aswell. This deal is just for the european website. We are offereing free shipping Australia Wide aswell which is a fair discount. The average shipping cost is $40-$50.

      • bought one

        • Thanks Jimmy, That will be dispatched for you today.

        • +2

@AKRacing: Received mine yesterday! very cool, very comfortable to sit in, just like my seats in my XR6.

        • @jimmytheone: Hi Jimmy, I am glad you are happy with the chair!

  • +1

What would you say is the main difference between the chairs? The design and dimensions are a bit different, but is there any reason to go for one or the other?

    • +2

      Hi BongoBong,

The Player series is a bit larger. Besides that, it is just the aesthetics. Pick one that you like the look off.

      • Ended up getting the nitro. Don't normally spend this kind of money without having one to try out first so hoping its good.

  • Too expensive for a Polyurethane L chair.

  • +1

They would be useless for a G27 or similar that has foot pedals. Every time you brake or accelerate hard the seat would be forced backwards. A couple of locking castors would fix it, so i am surprised they don't come as standard on such an expensive item.

On my modified office chair i have locked the castors with self drilling screws. : )

    • Hi Fluffy, Thats a good idea. I will look into sourcing some lockable castors.

  • Can the arm rests be removed easily? Dislike them hitting the front of my desk.

    • Hi Keef, Yes very easily. There is 4 bolts holding each arm rest on. The allen key required come with the chair. It would take no longer than 5 minutes to remove both of them.

      • Siiiiicccckk. Thanks so much. They look pretty cool although it would be nice to have one with a more modest colour combo, something that doesn't stand out so much. Got any Beige? LOL

        • Hi Keef, Not at this point in time, The black and white chairs are a bit less out there.

  • -1

gday mate should I buy this or the dx racer?

    • They are both good quality chairs and it really comes up to your preference on the design and colours.

  • nice one, just placed an order ! cant wait to get it!

  • Just checking if this deal is still available?

    • Hi Anthony, Yes we have extended the deal for another week.
