    http://shopap.lenovo.com/au/en/deals/info/4X10E52937_overlay_$1.html

    • does that apply for any lenovo?

      • I'm not sure, all it says in the banner is 'when you purchase a Lenovo E450'..

        • Damn it doesn't but sure does look nice

If you're a student, register and log in to the Lenovo education store and it brings the laptop down to $1,021.55 inc. GST & delivery

  • Does anyone know how trs works i know its up to 900 for gst refund but what if its over 900, do you just pay gst on the amount over 900 or on the total price.

      • Ok so i guess once its used and you are bringing it back into the country its dropped in value so it would be worth less than $900 so no need to declare it.

        • if you bring in under AU$900 no need to declare. over AU$900 - declare everything.

        • @havok44:
Once its used its not worth over 900 anymore so I won't be declaring it.

  • Apparently the screen sucks, dim with poor viewing angles. No IPS type screen available.

    Deal breaker for me.

    • According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doEZMNXz1JY it only applies to the regular screen. The 1080p screen is ok though.

      • Thanks but that is a 12 mth old rambling video about Lenovo.

Where does it say about the screen as at 30+ minutes long that is a real commitment.

  • Um I speced it up and $1477?????

How easy is it to install a 512SSD?

        • very easy.

        • is 16gb really necessary? Im pretty sure that ulv cpu is gonna slow things down long before you run out of ram

        • @krisspy:

Most users wouldn't notice the upgrade from 8GB to 16GB. You'd have to be doing something very specific. Maybe running VMs?

  • Why won't these companies put 512GB SSDs in their machines…

Always have to clone the drives myself.

    • Because no one buys them bundled. $300 for a cheap 500gb turns into $600 if manufacturers decide to include them in build packages. Budget models with low cap ssds or mechanicals are always better value

  • Looks like you can't customise and still use the coupon.
The description could be cleaned up to what you actually get for $1099.
Also, the $849 model looks to be a better deal

  • I customized the $649 model to get 8GB ram and FHD screen. Add $1 for the dock to get extra USB ports plus HDMI and Ethernet. It came to $805 which suits my budget better.

    • Was there hdmi on the dock?
