72 Hour Starter Kit Sale: 2 Complete Sets of Connections w/ Metal Spray Guns $40 (FREE SHIPPING) @ Hoselink

690

Howdy Ozbargainers,

I thought I would let you guys know about this first before the email goes out today.

This is the best sale on our patented no-burst, no leak hose connections for as long as I can remember.

For $40 you get two complete sets of connections, with our bomb-proof all metal spray gun delivered to your door.

This is TWO "Ned Kelly Starter Kits" Product page which sell for $33.90 a piece, so with this sale you're essentially saving $28 when buying a pair.

The connections are legendary, have a 3 year warranty and customers who purchased them when we first launched over 10 years ago still have the same ones in use today!

The spray gun is the most durable spray gun we've ever developed and is designed to be serviced. A little silicone lubricant once a season and I would expect it to last many years to come.

Anyone who is still on the fence on whether or not to try Hoselink connections, now is the best time to buy.

Sale ends end of day Friday. We typically offer same day dispatch from our warehouse, but due to the expected volume of orders generated by the sale, expect an extra day for delivery. We say 3-5 business days for delivery, but typically you'll receive your order sooner than that.

We're located in Brookvale, just north of Sydney and we're having a grand opening sale for our new warehouse location (about 100m away from the old one), so if you're in the area this coming Saturday, stop by for a deal (Saturday 16th May from 8am to 3pm).
View On Map

I'll be in and out of the office all day, but I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have on here as quickly as possible.

Thanks for reading!

Not as good as the 2 for 1 deal a couple of years ago

    • +30

      An ozbargainer never forgets

    • +3

Still use them, however one sprayer does fail to stop flowing when you release the trigger. Annoying

      • +4

Are you using a silicone gel lubricant? There should have been one included with your order, but if not, please pm me the email address associated with your order and I'll post some out.

        • I honestly don't recall, however I do have some gel lubricant on hand and won't need it posted.
But if that is all that is required to maintain the trigger shut off thing, then thank you.

Any tips to applying it? just blob some around the little knob bit under the trigger?

        • +5

          @diddy50:

We have tried about a dozen different lubricants for the triggers and found that the silicone gel works the best. It is the only one that seems to stay in place.

Simply dab some onto the stainless steel plunger inderneath the trigger and then pump the handle to work through.

If you need to, you may also remove the brass cap on the back of the spray gun to then slide the spring and plunger out through the back. This is helpfil if the plunger becomes calcified. In this case, you will want to dunk it in CLR or some other cleaner over night, then relube with the silicone gel.

I hope that helps, but if you do need the silicone gel, let me know and I'll post some out straight away.

Sorry for the delay in my reply!

          @Hoselink:

          excellent customer service skills, thanks!

        • +3

          @diddy50:

See their You Tube video about servicing it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRwHNErqKeo

Very simple to pull down, I do it about every 4-6 months as it is constantly left semi submerged in water. Never use a waterproof grease/lube that contains lithium (most "white" greases) as lithium destroys rubber and plastics.

        • @snuke: Thanks for the info. I'm going to use lithium on my car door hinge and now I know to be careful not to over-spray onto any rubbers.

        • @diddy50: that's what SHE said..

        • @snuke:

I have some silicone gel for my pool connections and joints at the filter etc. so that's safe.

      • Their connections are flawless but I wasn't impressed with the triggers, the spray varied on both of mine. Still a good deal but trigger nozel could be a little better.

To be fair I haven't seen others complain about this so might just be the ones I got. They're still usable.

        • you aren't alone. The spray from my trigger nozel (from the old deal) is also not the greatest.

        • I'm curious to know which sprayer you received? Are we talking about the bronze colored ones we currently offer?

Please PM me with the email address you used to order and I'll look into it for you.

        • @SBOB:
What is it about the trigger nozzle you didn't like?

To confirm, are we talking about the bronze colored one that we offer as standard?

I am confident that this is the most durable, versatile spray gun we have had yet, but if there are ways we can improve, please let me know and I promise to bring it up with our product development manager.

        • +1

          @Hoselink:

As I PM'd you, but I'll add here in case it benefits SBOB, I purchased from this deal:
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123565

The trigger nozzle looks the same as your current model in my case, probably the same for SBOB but see what he says to be sure.

I actually haven't used mine for quite some time so if I were to help answer your request for feedback I'd have to plug-er-in and give them a whirl again but from memory I think the "shower" mode (i think) varied a bit between both of mine, I had to use one of the heavier spray settings, but it would toggle between more of a concentrated jet back to a heavier splash. Again not deal breakers and by no means am I trashing your product. For a more accurate description I'd really have to plug it in and have a play with it again.

The overall build quality appears to be better than any others I've owned, compares well to some $30 Bunnings ones I've owned over the years. So it was just about the spray for me.

        • @Click_It:

I got mine from the same BOGOF deal, I use shower mode frequently, and it is the same between both guns. Same for all modes. I have found that the face of the gun, the rotating dial with different nozzles, can become slightly loose with extended use and you end up with a greater difference from the water to the nozzle, and this will affect the spray. Quickly tighten with Phillips head screwdriver and all good.

        • @snuke:

Yeah one of mine did come lose over time too, as you say a quick fix with a Phillips screwdriver :)

        • @Hoselink:

Ditto for the great no burst connection!!
Got a couple from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/65639

Originally, the trigger was made of plastic instead of brass and that model has no need of maintenance(no frequent lubing is required), no problem with the loose dial nor the failed trigger problem.
The only problem I had with the original version was that the trigger snapped after around 1.5 years, it was out of warranty by then. Maybe I had an unlucky batch.

The BASIC SPRAY NOZZLE head was starting to leak from the yellow bit after close to two years, now it's also a good 360 degrees sprinkler when I turn the tap on.

If rep is interested to see them, I can bring them in on Saturday.

I'd love to see the 50%off deal / double deal with the premium kit to replace my swivel connector.

    • +1

Last time we got two of the premium sets for $37.90, which included swivel connectors.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123565

Now I see they are not included and sold for $9.90 each!!!

I don't mind price increase from $37.90 to $40.00 but charging $20 for two tiny swivel connectors is absolutely unreasonable. No deal.

"We now have a swivel connector that is built into the accessory connector. It's more durable and there's less that can go wrong with it."

        • The one they are selling in this deal does not include that accessory connector. They are selling another bundle with swivel on the website called premium bundle. I suspect hence rep did not reply to my comment.

  • hi rep, would I be better to come in on Saturday or should I order this now, because I would like this but I also want some other things - id prefer a whole kit

    • If you are interested in more than just connections, definitely come into the shop during this weekend's sale.
We've got a wide range of offers including this one featured here.

      Hope to see you there!

  • +5

Great gear but the "bomb proof spray gun" sure could use a trigger that doesn't stick as easy as it does. Seems like it needs lubricating every month rather than once per season.

    • +2

Also, the clips that hold the trigger down are lost easily. Mine both lasted less than a year.

    • Have to say I preferred the old 'non-premium' spray gun, which has flow control built in, a more comfortable trigger, an easier to use trigger clip, and isn't as heavy.

And what happened to the Ultra 6 hose? Been a favourite of ours because it's so easy to handle - light weight and less resistance to uncoiling than typical hoses, while still being quite kink resistant.

    • Are you using a silicone gel lubricant? There should have been one included with your order, but if not, please pm me the email address associated with your order and I'll post some out.

  • +4

why would anyone want a bomb-proof all metal spray gun?
do you sell these spray guns to terrorists?

Did you use the code "NORMALPRICE" ?

  • +1

I am in Brisbane cbd. If someone wants to sell the other set I am happy to pay $20 upon collection.

  • how about a good deal on say 30m 0r 40m of hose to go with this ?

  • There are better spray guns than this one and overpriced, mine sticks even after lubricating.

    • Are you using a silicone gel lubricant? There should have been one included with your order, but if not, please pm me the email address associated with your order and I'll post some out.

  • Where can I get silicone lubricant? I have come across only water based lubricant and oil based lubricant.

    • +5

      Club X?
Otherwise, Repco & Bunnings sell it ;)

      • +9

Is this any good for fixing Squeaky Back Doors? tightarse was looking for some the other day…

    • We include the lubricant with all spray guns now. If you need some, simply PM me with the email address associated with your order and I'll send some out straight away.

It is a specific gel silicone, which is different than the one you can get from the WD-40 company. The ones in the arasol cans aren't thick enough and tend to displace quickly.

It happens to be very similar to the silicone gel that we use to lube the rods on our foosball table in the office….

Sorry for the delay in my reply!

  • I wanted to buy a hose alongside these items and was going to come in on Saturday but the sale would be finished by then.
Any possibility a bundle with a hose?

    • This offer will be available in person, plus a ton of other cool special as well.

I don't think you'll be missing out if you come to the sale instead of buying on this offer.

  • +3

Thanks OP, just bought one and I don't even have a garden.

    • +5

These are starter kits, so you don't need an established garden…

  • How much would it be for 2 premium kits? this has the swivel connector too

    • I'd be interested too

  • Hi rep,

Any chance you can get another snow foam car wash lance deal together similar to this?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151332

    Cheers

    • Hi Rep, this snow foam car wash looks interesting. Any deals on it?

    • Thanks for the reply, rep!

  • +1

Rep, can I suggest you guys start selling a 2 - 1 tap adaptor?
I like having one so I can leave the hose reel connected but easily use the tap to wash my hands or fill the dog bowl, but all the ones in Bunnings etc. are crap.

    • Great idea! I have some hoselink products but it is annoying disconnecting each time you want to do something basic like wash your hands.

    • We have a 2-way and a 4-way tapadapter. They're very durable, leak free and easy to use:
      https://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/2-way-brass-tap-adaptor/5742

      • Thanks, I never realised that you had them.

  • I'm in Melbourne CBD. Happy to sell the other set for $20 if anyone wants.

    • I'm also in Melb CBD and happy to buy the other set. PM me your details.

  • just be careful if you drop these.. i dropped one of my metal spray guns from about a metre high by accident (i bought three hoses last time) and the plastic part on the front exploded with pieces going everywhere. These might be "servicable" but if you drop them they are as good as toast!

    • +3

      Hey there,

They shouldn't break easily, but if you send me a PM with the email address associated with your order, I'll mail out a replacement spray gun face straight away.

To confirm, yours is the same bronze colored gun featured as part of this special?

      Sorry for the delayed replay!

  • I'm in Newcastle if anyone wants to split a package?

  • Hi Rep,

if ive got two hoses fitted up with this gear (ie front and rear of house)- does this deal provide enough to join both hoses together into one super length hose or would I require some sort of joiner piece still??

    • No joiner necessary - every connector terminates in identical bayonet connection.

You can join as many hoses together - leak free - without any additional connections.

The special offered here gives you everything you need to set up two hoses on two separate taps and the two spray guns. If one wanted to join two hoses together with this and then have an extra tap connector and spray gun in reserve, they could.

  • I never got silicon lubricant when I ordered my Premium Ned Kelly Starter Kit. On the website now it wants $3 extra….No thanks - but haven't needed it so far. The Ned Kelly is a great product - I'd definitely recommend getting the swivel connector as well as I don't think this is included in the normal starter kit. Be careful not to drop though as my swivel connector cracked in half after 6 months probably from being dropped.

    • We've now got a swivel connector that is built into the accessory connector which is more durable than having them separate. Please PM me with the email address associated with your order and I'll send one out.

Also, if anyone needs silicone, simply PM me with your email address, I'll find your order and pop some in an envelope for you.

  • I'm very happy with the sets I've purchased in the past.

The one small thing that lets me down is the Swivel connector, inevitably the join between the connector and the spray gun will loosen and leak, I have tried Teflon tape to help it seal. The plastic fitting into the metal housing of the sprayer just doesn't seem to work all that well over time and you risk stripping the thread if you over tighten it to seal it.

Overall though, highly recommend the hose fittings.

    • You mean to say the 532 reviews on the swivel connector aren't right?
What about the O ring spare parts kit that have 170 reviews at 4.5 stars? Surely they won't fail on me…..
Sarcasm aside, I like the hoses but I'm a little sceptical that every product has 4.5 stars.

      • Yeah I did notice those review numbers when I checked to see if they had improved the design or perhaps they had a brass, cast or even Nylon version released.

I went thru most of them and there was only a handful of 4 star reviews with the rest at 5 stars, mine must be different or I'm part of the cbf giving an honest review crew.

      • Sounds somewhat fishy with that many review

    • +2

We now have a swivel connector that is built into the accessory connector. It's more durable and there's less that can go wrong with it.

If you PM me with the email address associated with your order, I'll send you out one free of charge.

      • Is this bundle you're selling here coming with that special accessory connector? The photo of the product shows a normal connector (no swivel) for the spray gun.

  • deleted

  • +1

    thanks op!

  • Do those connectors work on any hose or just hoselink ones?

    • +1

They work on any hose. This is a good deal, certainly beats the Pope nonsense from Bunnings.

      • Thanks for helping out!

  • Any deals on Retractable hose units for people in WA??

  • +1

perfect timing! was about to go to bunnings to buy a spray gun but this came up instead

actually..wait now I have to wait for the postie..lol

  • @rep what deal is there for an ozbargainer for a complete set incl hose.. Im in the market but live too far from Gods country (northern beaches)

  • Placed an order hopefully these are worth what people say.

Bunnings ones are pretty crap always burst or leak so my expectation is very high for something that costs that much more

  • Good products grabbed some hoses and connectors last deal and still going strong.

  • Rep,

Bought the ned kelly from easter show. Forgot to add some accessories. Any chance for cheaper delivery? Thanks.

  • I'll bite and give this a go.

  • "We now have a swivel connector that is built into the accessory connector. It's more durable and there's less that can go wrong with it."

Does the kit in the deal have the swivel connector that is built into the accessory connector.

  • Hi, I want to grab 2 x 30m retractable hoses + this new deal you are offering.
I will travel to your new location on Saturday if you could let me know if the 30m retractable will be at a good price.
I live about 1 hr away so don't want to waist my time if it is now cheaper than online.
If you can't post the price my mobile is 0422 009 032.
    Thanks,
    David.

  • +1

    Hi Rep,
Any chance of 'upgrading' the connections to include the inbuilt swivel connector for a small price increase?
I'm pretty a few of us would prefer the inbuilt option.
    Thanks

    • +1

I've got the swivel connector on one hose and one without. It makes a huge difference to the usability of the spray or whatever you've got on the end.

I've been meaning to get some more tap and hose ends and accessory swivels for the caravan, but I don't really need any more spray guns.

Good deal anyway. I'd bite if it came with the swivel. A couple of spare sprays are always useful.

Seriously rep, you should stop selling the accessory connector without the swivel. It's just a pita.

  • -1

I'm trying to add this to my cart on the Hoselink page and it isn't working.
I've already rung my husband to see if he wants these and he said yes, so now I'm committed.
Can you please HELP, I did do th eonline query but it may be quicker on here.

    Cheers

  • Thanks, will try. I bought brass ones from the hardware stores and they pop off every time I use them.

  • How do these things join together?

Looking at the website the connectors appear to have 2 flat surfaces and not the male/female plugs that normal connectors do?

    edit:

No worries, I found a vid.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO-cCU6CVOE

  • +1

I agree - if it was a deal with the swivel connection, ie. Premium Ned Kelly kit, I would be all over it.
Similar to that BOGOF $38 deal late last year

    • Absolutely. Two premium kits for $40 would be very attractive - I'd be happy with 2 premium kits for $50 - still very good value.
