BOGOF (2-for-1) HOSELINK Premium Ned Kelly Starter Kit + FREE SHIPPING ($37.90)

2240

Other Offers including a Hose available as well

Hello Ozbargainers,

We were curious to see what all this Click Frenzy fuss was about, so we thought we would put our most popular garden hose connection set on sale.

This would be the perfect Christmas gift for one or two gardeners in your life!

Great stocking stuffer on the off chance that you know an adult gardener who still gets a stocking from Santa. We're not judging!

If you're curious to see what HOSELINK is all about, I recommend checking out the following 30 second clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-E0lggs1q8&feature=c4-overv…

Each set includes everything needed to connect both ends of the hose and is guaranteed to never burst-off, even in areas with exceptionally high water pressure (Sydney). They fit all standard garden hoses (12mm ID), any standard tap (3/4 or 1 inch) and work with all existing watering accessories.

The fittings are exceptionally durable, leak-free and feature a 3-year warranty. That said, we would expect them to last a lot longer than that due to the fact that they are made from nylon which is much denser than the ABS plastic commonly used. This means they don't break down in UV like ABS and no moving parts means they don't wear out over time. In fact, we have many customers who purchased our hose fittings when they first came out 10 years ago and continue to use the same set, transplanting them from hose to hose.

The included all-metal spray gun is heavy duty and designed to be serviced (threads pre-tapped to allow for disassembly & maintenance) should it clog up over time (commonly due to calcification and small lizards getting into the hose).

"What about brass?" you ask! Brass is great, and we use it in many of our connections (from/to pressure washers, tap-splitters, etc). Unfortunately, we have found (and our customers commonly report) that the typical brass quick-connect design still bursts off. This is due to the small grabbers inside being made of plastic and the quick connect design being generally flawed. The Hoselink Bayonet connection simply will not come apart (as demonstrated in the commercial where we tow a truck with the hose and fittings). In addition, brass can calcify over time, where nylon typically does not.

If you have any questions, please post below and I will be quick to respond.

Cheers,
Beau

P.S. Yes, I know the sale says 50% off and that it really is a "Buy One Get One Free" (BOGOF), but that's how it was suggested we phrase it for the purposes of click frenzy. Crazy marketing boffins, why can't we just call it what it is?!

EDIT: I just noticed there has been much more interest in our second offer which is 30% off a hose, starter kit and hose hanger - all for $66.45 (FREE DELIVERY). Click the link for details.

EDIT 2: Ozbargainers are asking for a longer hose without a bracket - I recommend seeing the following hose which is on sale and is fantastic:
http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/35m-ultra-6-hose-unfitted/483…

EDIT 3: This is OzBargain insanity! Thanks for all the great feedback and I promise to get you guys something good in the future exclusive to OzBargain

YET ANOTHER EDIT: I've opened the offers up for a little extra time to give any stragglers a chance to pick it up. That said, when I get into the office this morning, we may need to put a stop to this OzBargain madness. It's good madness, but madness none the less!

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2013

My father-in-law has hose link out the back at home and it is good.

Buying a house, so I'll think about this for us.

    • Glad to hear everything is working well for him and thanks for the upvote!

  • +1

    nice one OP.
never find this quality on special, so thanks.
as per your edit : a deal for both ?

    • +3

Well, a hose is only as good as its weakest link!
Although, don't make the mistake I made when I started working here - I put the fittings onto a very cheap hose and assumed I could leave the hose on without any issues. The hose exploded!
Bear in mind, this was a very cheap hose and we have extremely high pressure (Manly, NSW).

      Thanks for the feedback!

      • +1

"I put the fittings onto a very cheap hose and assumed I could leave the hose on without any issues. The hose exploded!"
being an ozbargainer i follow protocols - the right hose but only at the cheap price.
        fittings are always the issue.

      • +1

        The hose exploded!

Better the hose explode than the water pipes…

        • +1

That would be pretty unlikely apart from pipes freezing. Otherwise you could never turn off a tap for fear of pressure.

        • That would be pretty unlikely

Happens quite often here… High pressure, old pipes, instant water fountain…

        • +4

That's strange, I would have thought you would have been the type to continually 'clean your pipe' jv…

  • Rep - you should also put some of your unfitted hoses on special so we have something to connect these to. Have to say that buying these fittings for the cruddy hose(s) that I already have would be a bit of a waste.

    • +3

Aha, we do have another special in the link for another offer with an 18m hose and hanger. It's a fantastic quality hose with an 8 year warranty (that we stand behind).

Regarding warranty claims, we know that even the strictest quality control or quality materials will prevent issues from arising on occasion. It's what we do when there is an issue that really sets us apart.

As you can only buy our products direct from us, making a warranty claim is as easy as calling us up, we find the order in the system and deal with it right away. We will never ask you to produce a receipt as we know what you purchased from us and when.

Also, in dealing direct with our customers, we are able to readily take feedback on board and continually improve our products. Please keep the feedback coming!

      • +1

Hey Rep, do you have a similar deal on a set with a reel rather than a hanger? We live in a unit, cannot attach it to the wall and would like to put it away for storage.

        Cheers!

        • Hello,

Unfortunately, our retractable hose reels must be mounted onto something.

We are looking into some new mounting options that will allow you to plant them securely into the ground to make them easier to move around and put away when done. Please stay tuned!

We currently have a mounting option that pegs into the lawn and works fine for this purpose, but it is not on our website because it has some drawbacks and is being redesigned. We could do a special deal on this if you were interested, but you would need to call us up and ask for it "Mobile hose reel mount".

        • +1

Sorry, perhaps I meant to say cart rather than reel, but they're pretty dear themselves; not saying they're not worth it, just bigger than my budget!

        • The Hose Carts are fantastic and very popular with people on larger properties with many taps to get to. Simply put a tap connector on each tap and it's a simple twist and lock to secure the hose in place at each location.

The inflatable rubber tyres roll over anything.

If I were in a unit, I would probably go the hose reel route and ask about our mobile hose reel mount. This would mean no mounting the reel on the wall and easy to transplant the reel with it's built in handles.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll talk to the boss man to see what we can do in the future.

        • +1

Can it be mounted to a wooden stand?

        • Sorry I missed your reply!

The hose reels can be mounted to any beam 12cm wide and cm deep. Also bear in mind that the hose reel when full of water is quite heavy (approx 20kg for the 30m) and whatever you mount it to will have to deal with the weight/leverage of the reel to keep from toppling over.

      • Need 30m of hose not 18m. And, I don't need the $23 hanger so including it eliminates all savings.

        • same here.. get rid of that hanger and make the hose longer….

        • We have an awesome 35m hose on sale:
          http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/35m-ultra-6-hose-unfitted/483…

It's not cheap, but it is fantastic. Plus, it's free shipping.

        • PM Me your email address and I'll work something out for the 30m package.

    • +1

will prevent issues from arising on occasion

I think you mean will not prevent issues from arising

I didn't reply to your post as that then locks it and prevents editing, should you wish to do so. Sigh, but it doesn't stop anyone else from replying and blocking the edit. Oh well…

Questions regarding warranty claims, who pays for return shipping? I know it's probably on the site somewhere but I'm feeling lazy and don't want to go digging :)

      • +2

Ah, yes I accidentally a word! Thanks.

For all warranty issues, we pay the return shipping. We send out a pre-paid shipping label via email, and you will need to drop the product off at the post office. Nice and simple.

That said, our warranty process is designed to mean as little fuss for the customer as possible. Check out our facebook page to see some examples in the comments of how we typically respond to product issues.

        http://www.facebook.com/hoselink

        • Ah, yes I accidentally a word!

          Irony? :)

Seriously though, sounds like a brilliant no fuss process, particularly the part where customers don't need to produce a receipt.

        • +2

          yep irony

        • +1

I can tell you that hoselink warranty is pretty good. I bought a water timer and didn't get to use it until a few months before warranty expires then it broke. I sent an email, got a reply stating it was a known issue and offered a refund or a better timer at a very reduced price. I got the timer. Very pleasant to deal with these guys.

        • +1

          Thanks for sharing!

If we know there's an issue, we don't sit on our hands - we have your details, so we contact you about it!

No email on file? We will call you.
Email unopened after second reminder? We will call you.

We're crazy about our service and hearing this kind of feedback makes it all worthwhile.

The new tap timers are very good, btw.

  • +1

Awesome. I've tried four spray guns over the past couple of years, and was just trying to choose a new one. This came at just the right time. Fingers crossed this one lasts as promised!

    • +1

I would say this new All-Metal Spray Gun is bomb-proof, but someone on OzB would likely test my claim!

I will say that it is extremely heavy duty and has better build quality than any other spray gun I've ever used.

I would give the plunger under the trigger a quick shot of WD-40 or silicone spray if you can which will keep it from calcifying over time.

If it ever stops performing well, simply disassemble, dip in CLR or some other calcium-busting solution over night, and put back together. Easy and as good as new!

      • i hope it is bomb proof just killed my last one,(previous model) if only the hoselink warranty covered dropping them

  • +6

no sale on auto rewind hose reel?

    • +4

Same here. Will you do special on auto rewind ones?

      • +2

I am interested in Rewind hoses deals…
Rep can you please consider one.

        Thanks

    • Yes, please OP.. 25m

    • Unfortunately, there's no way for us to discount the reels at the moment as we are having trouble keeping them in stock at the moment.

They have been a big hit as a Christmas gift and we would have to wait until we can replenish our stock in the new year.

If and when we do have a sale on hose reels, OzBargain will be the first to know!

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought a set.

  • +1

We just purchased a new click on set last month, it just keeps bursting off from the pressure.

I've been waiting for hoselink to come on sale - great stuff - ordered.

  • Is the checkout secure? went to buy and don't see the padlock secure connection thing when it's asking for credit card details.

    • +2

Absolutely. The shopping cart and checkout pages are secure. You should see your address bar in the browser indicate this with an HTTPS connection.

At checkout, click the little globe icon or padlock icon to the left of the URL and you should see the details of our SSL Certificate:

      https://smarticon.geotrust.com/smarticonprofile?Referer=http…

If this isn't working, please let me know.

  • +1

Hoselink is good, we've had an auto rewind for two years and its great. :)

  • I put a screw through my plastic connection and it doesn't come off.

    • Any chance you could take a photo?

      • I'm curious as well!

      • Its as simple as it sounds, I got the tip from a forum. I taped over the top after or I would get a photo.

I have a spare connection if I find some hose I'll do sample and photograph it for you. Won't be this week but pm me for later

  • +2

The 3-in-1 claw weeder looks very handy from the linked video and is only $14.95. Might have to get one :)

    • It is very handy.

It is great for anything you need to do in the gerden bed, but don't expect it to punch out a neat hole if you are trying to extract a weed from the middle of your lawn.

That said, the product is durable, works well for what it is intended, and a steal for $14.95.

      • +1

Thanks for the info - I'll probably use it more for planting/aerating garden beds and the compost bin. Looking forward to receiving it ;)

  • +1

I use this product along with others & am very happy with. On the occasion I had a problem with the trigger gun ( previous model ) this new " all metal " unit was sent out to me the next day! Great back up service & product from these guys, recommended! No surprise that they won 2013 Australian Business Award for Product Excellence.

    • Thanks for sharing your story.

We only sell direct, so we have to be accountable for what we produce. We will never refer anyone to the manufacturer or turn anyone away - we are just that committed to our customer service.

  • +2

I was sceptical at first but the connectors are a ripper.
    Great bargain 2 for 1.

I am glad you have changed your spray gun to all metal.
The one included in my Deluxe Ned Kelly Starter Kit from last year had a plastic knob on the back for adjusting flow and that did not survive a drop on the ground rendering it useless.

    • +2

Thanks for chiming in and I'm sorry to hear that the previous gun broke.

Call us to see if a replacement can be arranged.

The new spray gun is far more durable than the previous one, but please note that it lacks the flow control that was on the back of the previous model.

      • +3

mine will have the traditional flow control…….i think its known as the tap.

        • Yeah but you have to walk back to the tap for that.

      • I've long since disposed of it and I'm taking up your offer here, thanks anyway.

  • +1

Just ordered a set of those fittings. I already purchased a new hose recently, otherwise I would've also gone with that 35 m Hoselink one.

If the hose fails before the fittings, I'll definitely invest in a Hoselink hose later on.

  • +1

    Thanks, just ordered.

    • Thank you!
If you should ever have any questions or need anything at all, please don't hesitate to call us on 1300 900 617 or email [email protected]

      • Thanks Rep, top marks for actively replying to msgs.

  • Hi Hoselink

Any chance you can discount your tap connectors? I need some extra ones for other outdoor taps and my Karcher (Karcher connection is often the weakest link).

    Thanks

  • Hi OP, can you do the same deal (bogof) on this?
    http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/metal-hose-cart-package/3116
    :)

    • +1

      Sorry, no can do.

These are very popular at the moment and we are having trouble keeping stock in as is. I will put this past my boss and see if we can do something in the future.

    • +1

These are on ebay with a starting bid of $100

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought the starter set plus the 35m hose. Been wanting to get a good hose and connectors for years. Hate the cheap crap I'm using now.

  • +1

Thanks Ops, ordered starter set plus some click-on adapters.

    • +1

      Ahh, click-on adapters.

A necessary evil in some cases - typically when using a fertilizer bottle with the click on nub moulded in.

Most other times, however, you can simply unscrew the click on nub and screw our accessory connector (ITEM 2470) straight in. It's all standard BSP threads, but in the case of an imperial thread, we have a US Male thread connection as well.

In the case of pressure washers, such as Karcher and Gerni, removing the click-on nub will reveal a male thread for which our tap connector is ideal.

You can use the click on adapter, but we can't guarantee it won't burst off. If you have any questions, please let us know.

      Thanks for your purchase!

  • +1

Sold! Every time I see your ad on tv I say to the wife - "We should try those out". Now I can :)

    • I'm sure they will serve you both very well!
      Thanks for your order.

  • +1

Signed up to post some feedback on the Hoselink products. I've been using them for two years now.

I was given a heap of Hoselink gear for Christmas two years ago (Hose, fittings, reel, two spray guns and a hose nozzle). Of those items, the parts that remain in fully functional order are the hose, fittings and nozzle.
The auto-retract reel was the first thing to die, lasting around 6 months. It just stopped retracting one day. Next, the first spray gun's handle perished, and snapped. The second had a coating around the turnable part, which perished quickly and fell off, then the same thing happened to the handle. I should note that these guns were the older plastic models, so the metal ones should've fixed this issue. The nozzle hasn't been used as yet. I've been using a $5 metal gun from Bunnings with the Hoselink fittings for a year now.

That said, the fittings themselves are brilliant and the hose seems to be good quality. I can't think of a time it's kinked on me.

    • +2

Hello and thanks for the feedback.

Even if it was a Christmas gift a couple of years ago, if we can find the order in the system we will be able to work something out for you regarding the reel.

      Call us on 1300 900 617.

We recommend that all customers whether they are in warranty or out to call us if they ever have an issue.

The newest version of our hose reels is by far the best we have ever produced - best hose, best spring, and build quality that puts all others to shame.

The only problem with a retractable hose reel is that it will ruin you on a regular hose for good!

I'm glad to hear the hose and fittings are serving you well and we would be happy to work something out for that hose reel of yours as well.

  • +2

Thanks Rep - you've just solved my dilemma of what to buy my brother for his birthday next month!

  • +1

Hi rep. Any remote chance for a deal for the 30m fitted hose package? I'll by a couple if you do.

    • +1

PM me your email and I'll sort this out for you.

  • +1

Awesome, and perfect timing for us too. Just yesterday we had our cheapie burst at the tap and trigger fittings. The missus will love this.
In addition to the BOGOF, ordered this little beauty too. Can't resist a Clearance deal lol.

  • +1

Hi rep, nice deals! Just thought I let you know that the HOSELINK Superflex 18m Hose Package is showing up as $66.43 instead of the $65.45 in cart.

    • Hey, thanks for pointing that out! I have updated the description.
      Cheers.

      • Hi rep, it's still showing as $66.43 in my cart but $65.45 on the click frenzy page. I want to check out. Help please! Thanks.

Edit - Page updated to reflect $66.43 same as the cart price. Checked out already.

  • +1

+1 even though i dont need to buy at present, but is a good deal on a great product (and excellent after sales service too!). Hose is tough-as, fittings are brilliant, and new adapter fits and works perfectly on my gerni…

  • +1

I just ordered a set. I hope they are as good as OP claims.

    • They are, but if for any reason you aren't happy, we have a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Thanks for giving us a shot!

  • +1

thanks rep, got one. for some reason your payment gateway wouldn't take my card though, had to do paypal (with 1.5% surcharge).

    • That's strange, we accept visa and mastercard and don't have too many issues with the checkout validating correctly.

I would be interested in the details and if you PM me I'll look into it.

      Thanks!

  • +1

I have not seen it anywhere on your website, but are any of these items made in Australia?

    • +1

Unfortunately, only a few of our products are produced in Australia and this does not include our hose connectors or hose reels.

It is impossible to manufacture these items in Australia and provide them at a price the public would be willing to pay.

All of our core products (fittings, hoses, reels, etc.) are produced by us, an Australian family company and supported/serviced/shipped from our warehouse in Sydney's Northern Beaches. You will not find these products elsewhere, nor will you get the same quality from anything in this price range, because of this.

You are buying direct from the manufacturer, and due to our strong relationship and communication with our customer base, we are in a unique opportunity to ensure the product is superior while the price remains affordable.

All that said, we continually review our ability to source/manufacture our products in Australia. As we grow, if this becomes feasible, we will be the first to embrace Australian manufacturing - absolutely.

      • I bought the deal because of the price…thanks for the info as well!

Just a side note I guess is that I can go to Bunnings, Home Hardware etc. and buy quite a few items that are made in Australia.

There are different prices for the varying quality of items. But you can buy cheap hoses, attachments, and sprayers or far more expensive items, all made in Australia.

I do generally go for the items that are not made in China, usually based on their quality, price and also the type of labour that went into making these items.

I do hope the factories you use to build your items has decent conditions for your workers.

  • +1

Got a set too and figured I'd try out the weed thing, not bad for $15. Hopefully it doesn't leave gaping big holes in my lawn after each weed extraction.

    • Hello and thank you for your purchase!

The claw weeder is fantastic, and at that price is an incredible value.

Unfortunately, it is not ideal for neatly popping weeds out of your lawn without making a hole. There are much better products on the market for this.

It is ideal for using in the garden bed, or for mulching compost, breaking up hard soil, etc.

It would be an indispensable tool for any gardener, but if you don't think it would suit your needs, please let us know so we can take it off your order and refund you before we ship it out.

We are very quick to get orders out the door, typically same day!

      • +1

I'll give it a shot anyway, if it doesn't work out ill pass it to the mother inlaw for breaking up soil. Cheers.

        • A bag of potting mix helps with holes. I prefer to take out the whole chunk to be sure to get rid of the seeds/roots and then put a buffalo runner on the new patch.

  • +1

Any chance of a better deal on the 30m hose package rep? The (much too short for me) 18m is 45% off, the 30m a "mere" 26%. I'm not unhappy with my old stuff despite an occasional need to retighten joins etc but the front hose is pretty old. Irrespective, thanks for the deal. I've looked at your products many times and after weighing everything up decided it wasn't economic for me. This incentive at least made me look again. Good to see an Aussie business doing it's own thing.

    • PM Me and I'll sort something out for you.

  • +1

Handy when a deal like this comes along. Makes a good Christmas present, one they'd use, but I'd never have thought of buying. So Thanks :)

    • +1

The beauty of a practical gift is that it is used regularly and the recipient will think of you when they aren't getting soaked by a hose that is bursting off.
      Thanks for your support!

      • Hey Rep,
        +1 for the description

Read it all and I am not even interested in buying one..

  • +1

Didn't know I needed a new hose fitting til I saw this on Ozbargain :P Always been annoyed at my cheapo hose fittings leaking and the hose popping out so hope this will fix the problem. Thanks for the deal OP :)

    • +1

      No, thank you!
We are pretty quick to get orders out - likely this afternoon.
Let's put these leaks behind us and embrace a better, drier future!

  • +1

Thankyou Very Much Hoselink! Another Christmas present out the way.

  • +1

    bought one thanks
