BOGOF (2-for-1) HOSELINK Premium Ned Kelly Starter Kit + FREE SHIPPING ($37.90)

2240

Other Offers including a Hose available as well

Hello Ozbargainers,

We were curious to see what all this Click Frenzy fuss was about, so we thought we would put our most popular garden hose connection set on sale.

This would be the perfect Christmas gift for one or two gardeners in your life!

Great stocking stuffer on the off chance that you know an adult gardener who still gets a stocking from Santa. We're not judging!

If you're curious to see what HOSELINK is all about, I recommend checking out the following 30 second clip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-E0lggs1q8&feature=c4-overv…

Each set includes everything needed to connect both ends of the hose and is guaranteed to never burst-off, even in areas with exceptionally high water pressure (Sydney). They fit all standard garden hoses (12mm ID), any standard tap (3/4 or 1 inch) and work with all existing watering accessories.

The fittings are exceptionally durable, leak-free and feature a 3-year warranty. That said, we would expect them to last a lot longer than that due to the fact that they are made from nylon which is much denser than the ABS plastic commonly used. This means they don't break down in UV like ABS and no moving parts means they don't wear out over time. In fact, we have many customers who purchased our hose fittings when they first came out 10 years ago and continue to use the same set, transplanting them from hose to hose.

The included all-metal spray gun is heavy duty and designed to be serviced (threads pre-tapped to allow for disassembly & maintenance) should it clog up over time (commonly due to calcification and small lizards getting into the hose).

"What about brass?" you ask! Brass is great, and we use it in many of our connections (from/to pressure washers, tap-splitters, etc). Unfortunately, we have found (and our customers commonly report) that the typical brass quick-connect design still bursts off. This is due to the small grabbers inside being made of plastic and the quick connect design being generally flawed. The Hoselink Bayonet connection simply will not come apart (as demonstrated in the commercial where we tow a truck with the hose and fittings). In addition, brass can calcify over time, where nylon typically does not.

If you have any questions, please post below and I will be quick to respond.

Cheers,
Beau

P.S. Yes, I know the sale says 50% off and that it really is a "Buy One Get One Free" (BOGOF), but that's how it was suggested we phrase it for the purposes of click frenzy. Crazy marketing boffins, why can't we just call it what it is?!

EDIT: I just noticed there has been much more interest in our second offer which is 30% off a hose, starter kit and hose hanger - all for $66.45 (FREE DELIVERY). Click the link for details.

EDIT 2: Ozbargainers are asking for a longer hose without a bracket - I recommend seeing the following hose which is on sale and is fantastic:
http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/35m-ultra-6-hose-unfitted/483…

EDIT 3: This is OzBargain insanity! Thanks for all the great feedback and I promise to get you guys something good in the future exclusive to OzBargain

YET ANOTHER EDIT: I've opened the offers up for a little extra time to give any stragglers a chance to pick it up. That said, when I get into the office this morning, we may need to put a stop to this OzBargain madness. It's good madness, but madness none the less!

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2013

Bought one less than a hour ago, and just got an email, it has been dispatched. That's crazy fast… +++

    • +1

      We don't mess about!
      Thanks for your order!

      • Thanks again, but how long will it take for shipping to Gold Coast?

        • Although we state 5-7 business days (Christmas delays could occur), I wouldn't be surprised if you had it in time for the weekend.

          Can't promise though.

    • Yep, me too, just got the despatched email from this mornings hoselink order, together with a despatch notice from an order placed at HN last week! (…and HN was only for half the items)

      • Interesting… I placed my order on 22/11 and I still don't have a dispatch notice

        • I'm sorry to hear about the missing email - I would expect you would have received your order by now. Please PM me your order number or call us on 1300 900 617 and we'll get this sorted out right away.
          Thanks for your patience!

  • +1

how long is this deal on for ?

    • Sorry for the delay!
As far as I know, the sale will end at 7pm tonight, when click frenzy is over.

I will update the post if it gets extended, but it being "Click-Frenzy", I'm not sure that it will.

  • Hi rep, I have placed an order earlier this morning, the status says it is being prepared for dispatch.

Is it too late to a 3 in 1 claw weeder in? Invoice #N00379041

    • +1

Sorry, it's too late. The order is packed and likely out the door already.

It is free shipping on orders over $30, though, if that's of any help.

Otherwise, shipping is a flat rate $6.95.

      Thanks for your purchase!

Went looking for independent reviews of the 35m hose - couldn't find much and ended up at this page at a rival store asserting their 'knitted' hoses are superior:

Hoselink Premium Flex Hose 4844 & Hoselink ULTRA 6 Hose 4835 with braided reinforcing cannot be compared to Hozelock Tricoflex knitted. Nylex Eclipse NTS, Nylex Platinum DCT & Gardena Premium SkinTech are other knitted products available in Australia.

Any feedback on any of these hoses? My Hoselink fittings are certainly superior to my previous ones which happened to be Hozelock - wonder if the same holds true for the hoses.

    • +2

That is no doubt a nice hose, although expensive. I wonder how they handle their 20 year warranty.

The Ultra 6 is a knitted "technical" hose similar to the one you have mentioned. Our other hoses (classic, superflex) are a more traditional design - quality rubber hose.

The Ultra 6 excels in being light and easy to work with, while having very good kink and tangle resistance. In addition, we find it to be the best hose to be left in direct sunlight as it doesn't heat up the same way as the denser, rubber hoses.

It's made in Italy instead of France like the Hozelock.

Our other hoses are heavier, virgin rubber hoses. They are like the ones that used to be sold in shops, before everyone moved to a lighter, reground rubber. As a result, our rubber hoses are much better for kink resistance than anything commonly available. And, if a king were to occur, it would not develop a "memory" at that spot like cheaper rubber would.

There's no such thing as a kink-proof hose.

The Hozelock is no doubt a pleasure to work with, but I think the Ultra 6 would be quite similar. Both would be great for ease of use and long life in harsh conditions.

Our rubber hoses are much heavier, but offer better abrasion resistance and kink resistance.

I'm sure that most would be very happy with any of these hoses as they are all vastly superiour to what you will commonly find in a hardware store at a similar price.

      I hope that helps!

  • How much for the 18m Hose package without the hanger?

    • Sorry, but due to the volume we are set up to send out these packages as is and cannot break them apart. That's part of the reason we can offer this price.

If you don't need a hanger, may I suggest the BOGOF Starter kit special and the 35m Ultra 6 hose. You could then chop the hose in half and have two complete sets.

Just a thought. Hope it helps!

      • +1

That is what I am doing.

        • +1

Awesome, I like your OzBargain Spirit.

  • +3

My Mum has wanted one of these for ages. Just grabbed her the 18m hose set for Christmas. She's gonna be stoked. :D

  • +1

If I add the click-on adaptor do I get 2 as well?

    100th voter woot

    • +2

      100 VOTES CRAZY!!!

PM me your order number as soon as you place your order and I'll do something special for you.

      • 115 votes now..

I also made an order which included an adapter, any chance of a second one being included ;)

        (Order no N00379659)

  • I just spoke to you guys about the hose reels - look like great quality. You mentioned an offer of free extras with every reel. What was that? Also, is the hose included with the reel the same as the ones on special today?
    Thanks.

    • I think the free extras is a general term that encompasses the free shipping, the upgraded spray gun (many reels only come with a basic twist sprayer), the swivel connector (very useful to prevent kinks and tangles) and the blaster sprayer (seriously, the most powerful long-distance spray available).

Unfortunately, it's not easy for us to simply throw extra things in as they are boxed up as a complete package and are going out the door so quick at the moment, that we are worried about selling out before Christmas.

Sorry I can't do more at the moment. It is unlikely we will have any sales on our reels in the foreseeable future. If we do, I will be sure to post it on here first.

      • +1

That's fine - you're doing enough. They are a great price at present with the 'extras'. But one question - I don't see an end date on this price. When does this special price on the hose reels finish, or is it when sold out?

  • Damn! I've been waiting for an auto rewind reel to go on special for ages (they're all ridiculously over priced in my opinion, and Bunnings never drop their prices on them <decent ones that is>). Must admit my Grandparent's have hoselink and love it. No chance of a little "Auto Reel deal" to add to the frenzy?

Well done on the contribution though and a wonderful aussie invention!

    • If you click on them, they have up to 29% off. Can't remember which one it was. The 30m was 25% off.

    • I completely understand your interest in a hose reel special - they are fantastic.

Unfortunately, we are having trouble keeping stock as it is and have sold out periodically so far this season.

Part of the reason the reels are so expensive is due to the quality of the materials used (heavy-duty spring, stainless steel hardware, Highly UV stabilized casing) , the enormous size (the new 30m is a beast), and every reel is tested before it leaves the factory.

If an when we can have a hose reel sale, I'll ensure it is posted here first.

      Thanks for the feedback!

  • +1

Bought a set (nice presents) and an auto winder. I couldn't see a guarantee for the auto winder anywhere. I read here that someone's lasted 6 months. I hope that's not going to be the case!

    • +2

That will absolutely not be the case. The warranty on the reel is 2 years, but if it is mounted correctly and not abused by pets, kids, or tradies (the three main threats to hose reels), I would expect it to last many, many years.

The person who posted earlier likely received his about 3 years ago and since that time we have made many, many improvements to the retractable reels.

If for any reason, at any time, the reel does not perform as it should, please don't hesitate to call us and we will sort it out straight away. Even if you're out of warranty, we ask that you contact us. We've never said "Too bad" to a customer and we always look for a solution.

      Thanks for your purchase!

  • +5

Just want to say thanks to the rep for being so responsive and helpful on this thread. Really appreciate the service :)

    • +1

      No worries at all.
In fact, it's been a pleasure!
Today has flown by in an OzBargain propelled frenzy.
That and coffee. Copious amounts of coffee.

    • +1

Totally agree, it makes a big difference.

  • +1

On the hose reels on your website, is there an end date on the 'extras' with the hose reels, or is this a standing offer?
    Thanks.

    • +1

      Hello again!
This is a standing offer and will not change any time soon.

  • +1

    Hi Rep

Just looking at HOSELINK Superflex 18m Hose Package for $65.45. When added to the cart, it show as $66.43

    What is the correct price?

    • I'm really sorry about that. I have updated the price on the page now.

  • +1

Thanks, I got the starter kit and the claw weeder. I'll wait for a better deal for the hose if one comes up, otherwise, my old ones will have to do for now.

  • +1

    120+ votes now..

I made an order which included the twin pack, and added the click-on adapter, any chance of a second one being included so I can make use of both sets the same? ;)

    (Order no N00379659)

    • +1

Hey, that's not a problem, but I wouldn't advocate using the click on adapter unless you absolutely have to.

The only time this is typically the case is when you want to use spray fertilizer bottles where the click on nub is moulded into the bottle itself.

Most other accessories can have this click-on nub unscrewed, so you can screw one of our accessory connectors directly in.

The click-on is not guaranteed to never burst off or leak.

      Thanks for your purchase!

      • +1

        Thanks
Yes, the plan is that its only going to be used for one of our sprinklers and also a spray fertilizer/chemical bottle.

        • Have you checked your sprinkler to see if the existing fitting can be unscrewed?

Also, there is a way to put one of our hose connectors onto a short length of hose, slide the open end of the hose over the click-on nub, and then use a hose clamp to secure the hose down from the outside. It is a little bit of extra work, but This way, you will never get a burst off or leak - ever.

This might be useful if you are using the sprinkler often at high pressure and find the click-on adapter doesn't cut it.

          Hope that helps!

    • +1

Yes Rep, I have also PM'ed a question to add two adapters to my order before it ships. To be honest I didn't realise I'd need those adapters and I do, to feed water to my camper connector …

But hey, I just spent $246 and don't want to pay another $7 postage!

      • +1

Hello, I've placed your order on hold. Simply give us a call and we'll modify the order as you see fit.

Thank you so much for your business!

        • +1

          cool. Done.

  • +1

Thanks rep, just bought the starter kit and 35m hose. It would be nice if there are more special deals, such as secateurs/pruners + sharper combo.

      • 1 - Hope you guys have another sale frenzy on the garden tools!!
  • +1

    Hi Rep,

The 18M hose pack you're running a special on - if I want to move that between two taps what's the cheapest way of having the other tap ready to accept the connection (ie. you only really need the part that attaches to the tap)?

Also, what time is the special running until?

    Cheers.

    • All you would need is an extra tap connector (ITEM 2320).

The sale is part of click frenzy so is expires tonight at 7pm.

We would leave it open for a little extra time to give stragglers a chance to get it.

  • +1

Hi rep. I just bought the hose and fittings package. Whats the difference between your superflex hose and other non-kink hoses in the market? Also those rechargeable torches look pretty good…

    • The torches are fantastic.
I compared it to the cheap ozbargain Cree torch with Li-Ion battery and charger I got delivered for about ~$12 six months ago (the one with the zoom feature). The cheap one was awesome, but the battery died in less than an hour of continuous use after being charged.

Ours delivered a bit stronger beam, but continued to work day in and day out for months on a single charge when walking the dog in the morning. It is incredible.

Just goes to show that the most important and expensive part of these torches is the battery - and ours is fantastic.

Regarding the superflex hose, the key difference that separates it from the rest on the market is the quality of the rubber used. It is very difficult to kink, but in the off chance that you do, it won't form a memory at that spot. And although it only features an 8 year warranty compared to some others with a 20 year warranty - it is a warranty that we stand behind with as little fuss as possible. We never ask you for a receipt and in many cases a warranty issue can be solved by emailing us a picture of the issue.

This is a heavy-duty hose that remains pliable year round and offers fantastic abrasion resistance. Simply put, most customers report it to be the best hose they have ever used.

Take a look at the reviews:
      http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/18m-superflex-hose/4805#revie…

Thanks for your order and let me know if you have any other questions!

  • +1

    forgot to mention that i bought a set… =)

  • +1

Ok one thing that annoys me the most is the hose always twists and stops the flow while watering…does the Hoselink's hose do that?

    • +1

This is what we in the industry like to call a "kink" in the hose.

Although no hose is kink-proof (although some might claim theirs is), our hoses use much higher quality rubber and more of it. As a result, the hoses are little thicker and heavier than you might be used to, but they are tough and much harder to kink, tangle, pinch, puncture, whatever. The only drawback is that they are a little heavier (200 grams per metre for the Superflex).

If you would like something lighter, I recommend the 35m Ultra 6 that is on sale - it is a newer style of hose that uses 6 layers and levels of braiding to deliver great kink resistance at a much lower weight (143 grams per metre).

      Hope that helps!

  • also, any chance you guys would have the auto rewind 18m hose on special?

    • No special on hose reels at the moment - having trouble keeping them in stock as it is!

But, if we do, we will post on OzBargain first.

Also, please note that the hose reels come in 5m increments ranging 10m to 30m.

      Cheers!

  • +3

Purchased! Have never had the need until I saw it on ozbargain. $130 later. Plus your service seems excellent. Keep up the standard of service! ;)

    • +2

The product is every bit as good as the service - which is excellent.

I would recommend checking out our facebook page to see the kind of feedback and connection we have with our customers:
      http://www.facebook.com/Hoselink

It's amazing to see how passionate people get about their hose fittings, but they do!
      Thanks for your order!

      • When you have used a cheap hose, you will never forget the intense frustration. When you finally pay up for a great hose like these people are bound to love it. The best thing since sliced bread :)

  • +1

PMed you but no reply. OzB frenzy.

    • Sorry for the delay, reply sent!

  • Hi REP,

Any chance of doing a sweeter deal on the below?

    http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/30m-auto-rewind-hose-reel/333…

We are building a duplex and almost at completion now. Looking for anywhere between 2 to 4 of these

    Thanks!

    • Sorry, no can do.

We're running the risk of selling out of our hose reels as it is due to the Christmas rush.

If an when we can do a deal on our hose reels, I will be sure to post on OzBargain first.

      Cheers,
      Beau

  • Thanks Beau, a +vote and I'm glad to be helping out an Australian company :)

  • +1

    Hi REP,
I've just placed an order for the Starter Kit and the 35m ULtra 6 Hose. My order# is N00380085. Would you be able to save me the troubles and help with connecting the starter kit to the hose so it's ready to go when I receive it. Simply because I have a medical condition. Many thanks.

EDIT: just realised you charge a fee for fittings so not to worry.

    • +1

In the OzBargain spirit, let's hope they can waive that fee for you.

    • +1

maybe pm the op/rep, as they seem pretty reasonable.

  • Just ordered the HOSELINK No-Burst 2 Starter Kit Package. Would have ordered the 18M hose as well, which I really need that'll have to wait for next time. I hope you guys can do the hose discount in the new year (hinT hinT) ;)

Thanks, been meaning to buy this for awhile. at 50% off I couldn't pass it up.

  • +1

OK - you got me. I've managed to avoid all the click frenzy deals so far today - and here you go temping me an hour after it's supposed to finish!

Seriously - I only needed a couple of extra tap fittings, but then I thought it would be nice to have the new swivel for the spray and perhaps the new all-metal spray as well (old one is over 2 years old now and still going strong), so why not two for one, then I saw the claw-weeder (wow always wanted one of them and a great price) - then I thought I really do need a new trowel - then …

Seriously - this is good stuff. I found you over 2 years ago, and I've been recommending you to all my friends. I'm glad to see you're doing so well and so many others like your stuff.

    Thanks for the special :)

    • Aha! Sorry to break your Click Frenzy abstinence!
Thank you for your continued business!

  • Bought

  • Bought. Was wondering what the ETA on delivery would be for courier to Sydney Metro (Liverpool area). 1 day? Would be good to get it before the weekend.

    • +1

I can't promise anything due to the avalanche of orders in the system, but we try to get orders out of our Brookvale warehouse same day, so it is possible you could have it in time for the weekend.
      Thanks for your purchase!

  • just bought one, thx

now wait this deal to be on discount

    http://www.hoselink.com.au/buy/30m-auto-rewind-hose-reel/333…

  • +1

Had to get this badly! Thanks for extending the frenzy. Wife Is going to be stoked :]

  • +1

Got one! Despite the fact we just purchased one a month ago for our new house. Thought this looked a quality product old one will now be a spare.

  • +1

I dont know whether to thank you for keeping this going past 7pm or not.

This afternoon I kept going between I need to get this and I dont need to get this, then 6pm Queensland time rolled around and I figured I missed out oh well. Then one the way to bed I checked ozbargins (I know I should have known better) and clicked on the link to check it had expired and…… its still available..
why did you do it to me Hoselink? my wallet hoped the temptation was over..

So I just could not help myself and had to spend $70 (needed those extra attachments and the bits to kit out the 3rd hose on top of the ned kelly starter pack) well at least I managed not to buy any new hoses tonight, a small victory for my bank account.

  • +1

Got my order in, great deal OP!

  • -1

    Nice advertisement.

    • +2

      Good Morning!
I won't argue that this is great advertising for us.

This is the only time we've done a BOGOF on this product, so it is a pretty awesome deal.
I'm happy OzBargain liked and we will do something special for you guys soon!

  • +2

Hey Rep, I just missed out on this. Any chance for me to still get the BOGOF offer? Or is it over?

    • I too managed to miss out on this. I would be quite happy if you could work something out :)

    • +5

I've opened the offer up for just a little longer to give anyone who missed out a chance to pick this up.

That said, when I get into the office this morning, depending on the number of orders, we may need to pull the plug on the special.

      Thanks for your interest!

      • Cheers, got my order in, thanks rep!

      • Thanks rep!

  • +3

    Had to laugh

I added a new hand trowel to my Ozbargain order and when I checked my email confirmation, it said "Garden Trowell". I was about to jump on the email and say "your products may be good, but you really need to hire people who can spell" - then I checked the dictionary and found "Trowel - from Middle English trowell, from Old French truele, from Late Latin truella, diminutive of Latin trua, ladle"

Now I don't know whether to criticise Hoselink for bad spelling, or to congratulate them for their knowledge of Middle English !

    • +2

That's funny! We've been selling that product for years and no one has picked up on that! Now, I don't know if we should change it or not…

Anyway, whatever you call it, our hand tools are good and I'm sure you'll like the trowel(l).
      Thanks!

    • +1

Plus one for the shared sleuthing. Have a look at tyres/tires some time.

  • +1

bought the starter kit but would like an auto hose reel but no rush. So I'll wait to see what you come up with as a deal. Will any deals on this be emailed to registered 'members' or will it just be available on OzBargain?

  • +1

    Bought one, thank you.

  • 200th voter - do I get a prize too :)?

  • +1

I order the Premium Ned Kelly Starter Kit last night.
When will they be delivered ? I am in Syd Western Suburbs.

    • +1

      Sorry for not responding sooner!
Although we state 5 business days for delivery, this order is leaving our Brookvale warehouse today and it very well could show up at yours some time tomorrow.
      Thanks for your purchase!

  • +1

    Great service Rep!
Just received my Ned Kelly starter kit. Can't wait to test it out this weekend.
Will definitely be recommending Hoselink to family and friends.

    • +1
