15% off Almost Everything: 20m Classic Retractable Hose $182.75 (Was $215), $7.95 Delivery ($0 NSW C&C/ $99 Order) @ Hoselink

320

If you spend time in the garden and find coiling the hose to be a pain in the arse, this is the best money can buy. It coils perfectly every time. It’s Australian designed and made. It also costs $200 so like 90% if you will be like “this is a rort Bunnings will sell me something much worse for like $30”.

On the down side, it uses proprietary fittings so you probably need an adapter. You will also be unable to tolerate a normal hose ever again. I just moved house and am about to buy two.

6 years on and mine are still going great, so much better than the trash at Bunnings

Finally! Been waiting awhile for this sale to finally get on board.
I spent some time researching garden hoses and Aussies seem to love Hoselink and Gardena (made in Germany, not china) products.

Anyone got both Evolve and Classic, if so which one do you like more and any pros and cons between the two?

    • +1

Never used the classic, but had the Evolve for about 6 months now. Can't fault it so far - other than the screws provided for wall mounting feel like plastic, I stripped one way too easily. Other than that, it's the best quality hoze nozzle and reel we've ever used - even got the kids watering the garden now.

  • Wish they had free shipping

  • 4 years on for me and still going strong. Gets baked in the hot afternoon sun all summer long. No problemos!
I had a shiity one from bunnos that lasted 6months. That one was in the shade all day

    Do the maths

I had a Hoselink reel that lasted about 10years . The proprietary fittings are a pain that you can only buy from them and are expensive . They do last longer than the cheaper ubiquitous normal connections , Simply because there are no moving parts .
Not sold on the design where the pivot point is only at the bottom rather than a shaft held at the top and bottom . Does not look like it would stand a chance if the kids decided to hang off it .

  • I started knowing about this brand when Everyday Marketplace was having lots of 25-30% cashback. Unfortunately they only had the classic version, so I tried to wait for the Evolve one. It has never come to that marketplace 😕

  • Dont forget 6.5% cashback with TopCashback

  • It's the warranty you're paying for too. I got one of the fertilizer sprayers with my order and a little shelf for the fittings.

The shelf wasn't what I expected so asked to return, they refunded and said just keep it.

The sprayer wasn't mixing properly after 8 months, they just sent me a new one.

    The hose has been perfect.

  • Does this mean I'll need to buy extra connectors so the hose reel will work with my pressure washer?

    • +1

yes you'll want a "click on hose adapter set" $8.07

  • New to gardening and considering to buy a hose reel.

    There's 3 options:

    • Evolve Retractable
    • Classic Retractable
    • Metal Hose Reel Box

Any reviews for these? Noting that Evolve is only 10% off while the other 2 are 15%.
Also, do we need electricity connection or the pressure is good enough? Will likely use it to wash the car as well.

Holman from Bunnings does the job.

    • Having owned both, the Holman is not terrible but the Hoselink clearly better. True test would be longevity between them, but I can’t see my Holman lasting more than a few years.

  • @tightarse I’m trying to purchase with topcashback but it’s throwing a dead link on the app and the site. Is this something you can look into?

No issue here. Tested fine across browser & app and I can see plenty of sales as recent as a few minutes ago so I know it's working. Could be an issue with your wifi/router/firewall perhaps? Try mobile data. Cheers.

  • We own a small apartment and the Compact Portable Hose Reel is absolutely perfect for a little balcony. Have been using it for a year and highly recommend!

Got the big bore hose 30m reel, 4 years ago. Had trouble with the propriety connection falling apart where the end of the house connects. Manage to get one of the 1/2 inch good quality brass fittings from Aldi to fit on the end of the hose, Now I have a normal adapter on the end of the hose.
