    Damn still $10

Plot Twist - Tightarse is Delivery Hero!

    • +15

      Rather, Delivery Hero are tightarses…

      • +1

        50% off if it was a $20 order….

        How are they tightarses?

        • +1

Up to half the discount is absorbed through delivery costs - so the discount is actually pretty meagre if their intent was to shore up business and a customer base

        • @inasero:

Might be the area/selection of restaurants… I've been ordering Thai from a restaurant which has $20 minimum and no delivery fee..

I was getting a curry and pad thai for $10 with the old coupon, that will be $14 now (inc delivery)… still a pretty good deal.

        • +8

They are not tight arses when this discount beats the competition. Some people here are just self entitled and whingers.

      • More like.. Oz bargainers are (but that's a given). They could always offer nothing. It's still a good deal if you want the convenience of not having to drive there yourself. I understand that it sucks if your local places have high delivery fees and high minimum purchases but for some this is still a good deal. We have been spoiled (spoilt?)to the point where our expectations are too high :P

  • I don't think they will go back to $14 sadly…

    • +34

I don't think most people will go back to DH.

      • Cos menu log is doing so much better

    Getting to fat…….

  • +5

Is time to go back to cooking

  • R.I.P

  • +1

I have $10 - $12 delivery fees from some places nearby.

    Not really that great anymore.

    • Use a different place.

  • +6

next deal $5 off $20 spend. good marketing DH

  • +8

When most of the delivery prices are $5-$10 its not worth buying anymore. It was good while it lasted though!

  • next week maybe 3 off 20

  • looks like the main customer base shifted off :(

  • Good while it lasted. Sigh.

  • +8

Thanks TA , its still $10 less if your ordering takeaway , i dont see peoples problem with it ?

    • +6

The people were spoiled with $14 off.

      • It started with $20 off!!

        • +2

Actually they refunded the first batch of orders, even those who actually got their food, so it started with $40 off a $20 order. No wonder we are so spoilt! :)

    • +4

      Greed, expectations

    • Maybe people weren't ordering takeaway, or anything more than a $5 pizza anyway.

    • +1

Still better than Menulog and EatNow. OzBargain has surpassed Whirlpool for whiners now in my opinion.

      • now ? my statistic tells me it was few years back

  • Fix your website and app! Ive had 3 (profanity) arounds already.

  • +2

I have restaurants in my area with $30 minimum and free delivery, so this is still a good deal for me :D thanks

  • Free $10 don't be greedy, will be sold out by 8-9pm anyways
Like always, majority people will Ozbaragin it.

  • +5

Thanks TA for posting, but $10 doesn't cover the over-priced menu around my suburb and the delivery fees.

  • OzBargain fights back, no deal

  • Good for people who are about to order anyway. Thanks!

  • +10

If $10 off isn't a good deal for you then you're not their target market in the first place. They want people to eventually buy food with no deals.

  • Pass

  • strange, my local pizza joint is open but says closed on DH site.

does it have to be delivered or can you pick up?

  • Thanks DH, it's been awesome. Nice knowing you. :)

  • Bring back the $14 off deal.
    No deal DH

  • Not sure what the complaints are. Just ordered from my usual thai, $20 min order, free delivery… dinner for 3 for $15, 40 mins estimated delivery.

    • +2

Most places we are stuck with either have $5+ delivery fee or $30 minimum's etc, that's why we are complaining.

      • +1

Oh, most in my area are $20-25 and free delivery, maybe because there are over 40 listed - competition is healthy?

  • +1

I'm just gonna put it out there that I ordered last night and used the Saturday code on Sunday.

I felt dirty, but also full

  • No thanks, as said when they dropped from their original $20 it was a no go for me from that point.

  • +2

If they're gonna keep this deal. I think the only way they can make it better is by reducing the minimum spend to $15 or something.

  • +2

Nope, $14 was my cut off!

  • +6

DH is cool, a beggar isn't going to cry over receiving a smaller donation than a previous bigger donation. Some Ozbargainers need to learn appreciate a good deal.

  • +2

Thanks, there's a few min spend $20 free/cheap delivery places near work (CBD). Dinner for $12. :)

    • +1

I don't know why people negged you, the entitled are out in full force today.

  • People are expecting to much, your lucky to even have coupons from these guys, They also need to make a living, why don't you complain like why doesnt woollies/Coles have 50-90% off their gift cards or restaurants should have 90%^ off please be considerate, clearly you don't understand cause you have never owned a Business.

  • +5

$10 for a double charcoal kebab roll + chips + drink and 2 mins early on their 1 hr 15 min delivery time

    still not complaining

    • +1

      You're lucky.

Places near me have minimum orders of $30-$50-$100, with delivery charges ranging from $7 to $20.

  • +2

I reckon its experimentation from delivery hero - they're testing the demand elasticity of their services. (How much discount they can provide to maximise the spending of consumers - and how the demand volume of their services differ with the discount.).

  • +1

Has anyone actually been taking up all of these offers and eating takeaway everynite?

    • +3

It's probably why some ozbargainers weight has increased 50percent

  • ignore
