  • Seems too good to be true! Amazing if it is.

  • Out of stock

Likely a printing error. Would be interesting to see how you would go price matching elsewhere though!

  • I bought this TV before Xmas. Its very good. The only "downside" for some people(me not included) is this TV has no camera.
Also, the free on air stuff looks terrible on a 4k. Where are the HD channels?!

    • SD channels are not great on my 4K TV and HD material is noticeably superior but I wouldn't describe them as terrible. I find them quite watchable. Wonder if there is any/much upscaling quality impact/difference among/between 4K TV brands/model?

    • +1

Free to air looks quite good on my LG UB980T (65"). I came from 3 plasma's including the Samsung F8500 (touted one of the best plasma's you can buy)

I suspect it might be this TV doesn't have very good upscaling from non-HD content to 4K.

    • TVS HAVE CAMERAS NOW?! Where in God's name have I been…

      • +1

Some of the smart ones will also allow you to add one :) Or you can just have one built into your android TV computer :) Or plug one into the computer or…

        Many options are available :)

Some TVs are actually in colour too!!!

  • Where was this catalogue from? I got my last TV due to a catalog pricing error lol. Wouldn't mind a new tv

    • catalogue sent to my both email addresses.

      Worth to try.

Taking advantage of DSE printing errors is terrible.
Though it's probably not an error.

    • +4

Terrible as in DSE is terrible at honouring anything

  • Great deal, thank you.

  • It doesn't appear to be in the catalogue, must be an inbox subscription special. Keen to find out as this is a good price. I wonder if you went into a store with stock and used this, would they honour it?

  • I will print it out and go to store too see what they say, but big chance they will say it price error.

  • how can I post the whole catalogue guys?

    • The screenshot is what you received in your inbox, if you click it opens the product page. It is not in any catalogue.

  • mcuongdt1986, you can put it in dropbox or something similar and share the link. Please do it asap before they start rejecting. I am really keen to buy this TV.

  • It is a pricing error, clicking on the email received it shows $1699 and Temporarily out of stock.

  • update link for the catalogue guys

    • +1

The catalog you posted in dropbox (when viewed online) still shows your email address …you may want to remove it for privacy reasons.

Another user (azm) has posted the official online version of the catalog below (you should consider using this instead of the dropbox link)

  • I'm really tempted to get this too! This catalogue was sent out to all email subscribers this morning at 8.03am. I received it too. Did anyone notice the picture is not the 4k TV? Maybe they were trying to list the full HD one for $999 and instead someone put the text as the 4K one? Anyway, I called the Southland store in Melbourne and they said all stores only have the display model apart from Eastland and Mildura. I called Eastland, they have two, one brand new one is on hold for another customer and the other one is the display model too. The guy doesn't know anything about the price or the catalogue, he scanned the barcode and it's still coming up as $1699 this morning. I think $999 for a 4K TV is unreal, I really want this!!! :)

    • All the Managers have received the email too. But the wholesale price is greater than the $999 figure. No store will accept this loss and if it is a "printing" error they can withdraw it.

  • Tried in store , no deal

  • I don't think anyone will be able to get it at this price, however if you are, can you please post purchase receipt. Thanks

  • It's technically 'discontinued' by LG so the jury is still out…

Great TV but still out of my price and need range. I'm happy with a TV tuner on my computer :)

    Will try to price match.

    • Let us know how that goes!

Weird how it's out of stock online but in stock on ebay?

Comes down to 1499 after applying CPICKUP15

It is a real catalogue and I am having Dickies following up via Head Office/Area Manager. It would only be $999, not $999 less 15%.

    • +4

Let us all know how you get on - am very seriously considerring replacing a 5 year old Panasonic Plasma if I can get this for under 1K!

  • also I am not sure it does 3D if I remember correctly…hence it being on clearance.

    • 3D? That thing you try at the first week when you buy a 3D tv and then you completely forget about it?

  • Called up to confirm, no deal :(

  • +1

Spoke to Head Office, they said no deal and confirmed was a pricing error. I even went up to ACCC to verify the rights, they said if its an ongoing issue with pricing they will investigate… they have passed the information to the relevant department.

    • +1

So expecting any positive outcome from ACCC?

  • Looks like a confirmed pricing error - no deal…

    • Thanks, I won't hold my breath. The Store I was looking at has 2, one on current demo and the other was a demo for a day…so who knows? ;-)

I went down to the local store at lunch, knowing they had no stock as I was in only a couple of days ago, to see if they had any idea or if head office had decided to actually inform its people. The nice young bloke looked at the email and exclaimed that it was a great price for a UHD TV and he wouldn't mind one for $999 himself. Of course we looked it up it was $1699 and no stock available. I said 'maybe its a price error' and that perhaps someone had heard more about it, but alas all of the staff were just as much in the dark as he. Kindly he offered to look into it more, and I gave him my mobile to call when he had more information. I suspect there will be little joy in the return call - assuming it ever comes at all…

  • Interestingly I cannot find any other retailer that has the same model.

  • Confirm pricing error. Saw this catalogue before going to work, had people coming in store to get it for $999 but had to explain them it was a mistake.

Terms and conditions at the end of the emails are confusing: It says online only, while stock lasts and ended today?
DSE also reserves the right to withdraw any offer without notice if a mistake was made.

Store cost for this TV is much (much) higher and stores would be loosing close to $800 per TV sold at that price.

For $999, I would have taken one for myself. Checked stock level in my region, there is none. Good luck trying to get this for $999!

    • How is this possible ( Stores would be loosing close to $800 per TV sold at that price)
      They are selling for $1699, $ 800+999=1799 still they loosing $100 ?

      • +1

I saw the store's cost for each of these TV is over $1,700. Selling them for $1,699 is already bellow the store's cost.

        • +1

          Rebates…

Still very poor service though especially when DS employees come on aboard and say to us good luck trying to get this for $999.00. Maybe you should write an email to your head office and let them know how many customers are frustrated with it being incorrect. Also sounds like if this deal did exist, the employees will purchase it themselves. No chance for us consumers.

I've been looking at this model for a while now as it has been replaced with the 850 model. DS has had it on sale a few times and I would expect that DS would at least provide us an apology for the wrong pricing (Hopefully advertise at least another special price for this model since the amount of people running around trying to purchase one). And again, stock level in your region shows none but ebay store shows more than 10. So really that means head office has them in stock. DS needs to train their staff members from not posting unprofessional comments on Ozbargain. I don't see any other electronic retailers write stupid comments like that.

I was wishing people luck, if they were trying to get it for $999, by convincing a store employee, or price matching at another store. I said it's a really good deal, and if you can get it for that price, jump on it because I would personally.

Like we have recommended some in-store customers, call the head-office and ask them what happened and if they could get you something, like a discount or gift-card. I know some people have managed to get something in the past.

I cannot find this model (55UB820T) on the eBay website, but if it says 10+ in stock, I don't know where it would be coming from. If all stores are out of stock, it means the distribution centre did not send any for a while now, and therefore probably has not had any stock either.
