    "New 2105 Collection:"

    DaftPunk will be happy

  • $199 for a shirt? Seriously?

    • +2

I wouldn't buy them at full proce but these are very nice shirts.

    • +7

When has ct ever sold anything at "full price"?

    • +1

I agree, CT's pricing is misleading however I too can attest to the great quality and fit of their shirts. Also, it's great that they have plenty of 94cm sleeve lengths, woohoo!

  • Does anyone here own one of their 'non iron' shirts? and are they truly non iron?

    • +6

I own a few of the non iron ones..they are not truly non iro unfortunately..needs bit of gentle ironing..great quality though..highly recommend..

      • If you hang them when wet, then no, you'll need to give them a quick iron (very easy to iron though).

If you put them in a dryer on low heat, then you can get away without ironing them in my opinion.

    • vastly better than their shirts that require ironing. I don't ever iron them unless going to an event, depends what your expectations are I guess, usually if I hang it up straight away and occasionally put it in the bathroom while showering if needed (the steam helps de-crease it) it looks perfectly fine.

    • They truly are non iron. I've had mine for over a year and they are still good.

    • +6

I also own a few of these - very good quality. They do come close to being non-iron if you stretch them prior to hanging out after doing the washing.

I was even able to select the perfect sleeve length when ordering as the sleeves on some other brands are too long for me. Measure the sleeves of one of your well-fitting shirts - you can Google how to do this correctly.

The customer service is quite exceptional. All orders come with a self-adhesive Postage Paid label for easy and free returns. You just need to fill out a quick form that's also included in each shipping.

When I had a question I called the 1800 number on their website and actually spoke with a dude who had a British accent - no kidding!

Just don't forget to remove the brass collar stiffeners before doing your laundry or risk having brown stains (hasn't happened to me but that's what I've heard).

If I had one criticism is that their 'extra slim' fit shirts are not nearly as slim as other 'non-extra' slim shirts that I own. If it wasn't for this, they would have been absolutely perfect, although I can't vouch for the longevity yet as I haven't had them long enough.

    • Yeah I have a bunch. As long as you hang them straight when drying you don't need to iron them.

    • I have owned their non-iron in the past.

They're non-iron in the sense that they don't wrinkle as much relative to their regular shirting. No-where near as good as Brooks Brothers' non-iron shirting if you're solely interested in wrinkle resistance, but BB will set you back at least twice this price.

There is further 10% off until tomorrow..enjoy

    • +1

      Doesn't stack unfortunately.

  • How do these shirts compare with say VanHeusen shirts you get from Myer?

    • +3

VanHeusen shirts are cheap but not great quality at all. These are very very nice shirts.

    • +10

Ct shirts are way better..VH quality is crap

    • They're better quality - if you need a Myer brand to compare to, it'd be T.M. Lewin.

They're not superlatively nice shirts, and you can occasionally do better than this price (DJs for example occasionally marks down Thomas Pink 'Prestige' line shirts to the $20-30 range on clearance).

  • This is standard price. They always have this discount

    • -2

$199 for four is more their normal price, there is often a $39.95 each deal around, but never when you need it.

  • +1

Love the non iron diamond weave series … comparable with TM Levin's - had both brands and love both.

  • charles tyrwhitt makes the best shirts in terms of fabric and quality - however, they are quite wide even if you get extra slim fit. fitting is very different to other brands

    • +2

Get one size down..I had a problem initially and had to return the shirts..free returns as well so can't complain

      • That would work for some people. Unfortunately, I'm fine with the size in the collar and shoulders (so can't go any smaller) but a fair bit of slack around the waist. I find that with other brands if I get a slim fit shirt in my size it doesn't have this issue. However, CT compensate by offering to chose the length of the sleeves which is great.

  • Op- this is standard price since long time..they do eofy sales where some shirts are $25..that's a real deal

  • good quality shirts, would recommend

  • The sizing is unusual. For me slim is too big and extra slim is too small. Good quality shirts though.

  • +5

Extremely good quality shirts. However, if you're of fairly skinny build, don't bother buying the extra slim fit. They're just way too baggy. You will have to get them tailored separately.

    • Thanks for your comment. I was on the fence about these after reading through the comments here but since I am a particularly slim person I will pass. Looking at the shirt website has reminded me I need to buy a tape measure too.

      • +1

go to ikea and get the free paper tape measure.

        • And a hotdog lunch

    • Agree. Waaay too big, even if you go smaller size deliberately.
Bought some last year and they are massive, I gave them this feedback and was responded to stating that they are aware of this and looking into this, not sure if this is still the case.

Shirt quality is good, but the sizing is very off sadly (probably just for skinny people?)
      YMMV.

  • I just both a few, hope their sizing chart matches their products

Anyone else always have problems navigating the ct site in Chrome? The URLs are really funny and often when I click buttons it doesn't do anything. Very frustrating and even more frustrating to have to boot up Exploder to make an order.

    • It works fine once I turn uBlock off!

  • +1

Also Marks & Spencer have a sale on at the moment. Link to their shirts here http://www.marksandspencer.com/l/offers/sale/mens/shirts/for…. Price start from around $20 and free delivery when order value greater than £30. 7.2% cashback available also through qwibble and cashrewards.

  • I had to return shirts 3 times till i got the perfect fit. so order multiple sizes to start with and return the rest.

  • I'll give these guys a short, purchased a few.

  • As a fatty (classic fit) who likes button down collars, I have a grand total of one shirt to pick from (white), the search continues.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, Ordered 4 Shirts.

  • +1

When I click the link from OZ Bargain all the shirts are $39.95, when I click the link from CashRewards all the shirts are $69.

    • +4

Try adding the $39.95 shirts to your cart. When ready to pay, go to the website via cashrewards and the shirts will be in cart at $39.95. That's what I did

  • +1

Here's a handy hint regarding the CT website….
the price and postage depends on the link you use, so for the same shirt you could pay $59.95 + $12.95 postage or $39.95 + free postage. I bookmark the link that comes with the $39.95 + free postage deal and use that for future purchases. :)

They are great quality by the way. Their slim fit is halfway between other brands' regular and slim fit, which I think makes a perfect fit.

    • I fit perfectly in the European cut from VH and the tailored fit from Bell Barnett. My size is around 41-42 collar. 89 sleeve.

Is the slim fit the European/tailored fit equivalent?

      • If you wear Slim Fit Brooksfield and TM Lewin (brands located in AU), then get the Extra Slim , Charles shirts.

      • Very worst case you have a fortnight to return it and they give you a pre-paid address label with your delivery to a NSW address so an alternative cut can always be organised. I also fit well into the VH european cut and found the CT slim fit too billowy but the extra slim perfect.

  • I don't know if it's just my bank, but despite the prices being in AUD, when I pay by Credit Card, I always get charged like 1.5% foreign exchange fee

  • How do these compare to Rhodes and Beckett shirts?

    https://www.rhodesbeckett.com.au/mens.php

R&B shirts are fantastic quality, $159-199 everyday price (which some people would actually pay), on sale a few times a year for around $89 (give or take).

    • +1

      Nowhere near as good.

The shirts that Charles Tyrwhitt have on sale prices are closer to T.M. Lewin/Ben Sherman. Rhodes and Beckett's stuff is probably better to compare to standard Thomas Pink, maybe Hardy Amies or to Brooks Brothers' mainline shirts (not 346 or whatever their outlet line is, or Red Fleece).

      • LiamF,

Where did you find Brooks Brothers in Oz?

It is a pilgrimage every time I visit or work in the US to pick up an assortment of Brooks Brothers shirts. I have not come across such a material that is both 100% cotton, non iron and can be worn on the plane flight on the way back home and still look as if it was first put on after so many hours in transit.

I would be interested to hear about their availability in Australia.

        • Either at http://www.brooksbrothers.com.au/, or there's at least 1 store in each state mostly in state capitals at the moment.

Oroton have the local rights - they don't have the larger sizes/roomier cuts, don't carry a full line of accessories (no more cheap shoe trees), and almost all stores have more Red Fleece than anything else (there's no Black or Golden Fleece lines being brought in either).

Don't bother with the 'factory stores', they're mostly packed out with made-for-outlet 346 stuff, which is lower quality. Every now and then though, they do 50% off the entire store though.

  • Would anyone happen to know what the equivalent of a Van Heusen European Cut be? Possibly the slim?

The name is a bit awkward since I am a pretty big guy

  • Shirts arrived today and seem to be very good quality. I'm a very tall (6'6"), athletic guy and the 'extra slim' shirts fit well. In fact, best fitting shirt I've had without being tailored. Thanks OP!

    • Great, by the sounds of it I think they have fixed the cut of extra slim with 2015 shirts.
      How much do you weigh?

      • +1

        97kg

      • +1

They have definitely fine-tuned the new extra slims, but they still aren't really for V shaped body. More like for box shaped people (big gut, big chest).
If you are more V shaped, you'll either need keep tucking in the front or get it tapered :)

        • Thanks mate.
I'm going to try sizing down to the 40-41 size. Normally a 42 slim in local shirts but my 42 extra slim Tyrwhitt shirts from last year billow out way too much at the waist.

  • +1

Purchased two shirts and can't believe how good fitting the extra slim shirts are. Clicked on the link and purchased another two ahah

  • No PayPal = Fail

  • Anyone know what there women's shirts are like? Tempted to buy some but would like an opinion first

  • nice shirts and a decent price.

  • Order arrived, these shirts are great.

The medium shirts fit like a glove and the measurements were accurate.

Feels like great quality, definitely worth the price.

I have a broad frame and slim fit is impressive.

  • I've heard that the extra slim fit has been updated for 2015. Can anyone who've purchased them in 2014 and 2015 comment on the sizing of the new cut?

  • CT offered $15 off next order for feefo feedback but refused to honor it !!!!!!!!!!!!

"Giving feedback need take no more than 15 seconds, and as a gentle nudge to help you along you'll be able to claim $15 off your next Charles Tyrwhitt order if you complete it."

Wasted much time chasing this - Not happy

Edit - after much debate, time wasted - email forwards and screen shots they finally agreed to honor and apply the $15 off
