    Still $30 more than eBay

    • +4

Maybe so, but for $59 I dont think it would be genuine sheepskin and/or Australian made for $59 on ebay you will find imported junk or wool blends or both, We stand behind our quality if that $59 pair is better quality that ours ill give you short uggs for free.

Plus you are supporting Aussie jobs as we are 100% Australian made and owned

      • -2

how much are you paying your staff to make $59 ugg boats?

        • +2

Our short boots are NOT $59, Our staff get paid very well and get looked after better than most :) If you are in Melbourne, pop in and say hello! We also have a fantastic showroom where we sell direct to the public.

The boots on ebay (not ours) are actually $69.90 and are most likely imported and of a sheepskin blend or inferior quality (who knows?)

I cant speak for other companies, I can only tell you that we actually make UGG boots, in Australia, from the finest quality sheepskin available, and are able to sell them at affordable prices, we are in the business to make customers happy, we are not after a quick $.

Its in our best interest to have happy customers that love our products.

The choice is entirely yours :)

        • +1

OP's point is their boots aren't $59 (partly) because they're paying Australian staff (hopefully) proper wages.

Though the Australian garment industry is rife with piece work (usually paying uneducated non English speaking immigrants a pittance to make clothes in home) in a vain effort to compete with Asian imports. These genuine Uggs may be made the same way (I have no idea).

          ***answered in the post above****

    • Thanks, I was actually considering to get some haha

  • Maybe so, but for $59 I dont think it would be genuine sheepskin and/or Australian made for $59 on ebay you will find imported junk or wool blends or both, We stand behind our quality if that $59 pair is better quality that ours ill give you short uggs for free.

  • Actually, you may be right. The ones I saw don't look the same as yours (heel label is different). The sole is a different colour. So likely an imitation. Though as long as they're made of real sheepskin (says they are) and don't fall apart or get horribly mishapen they're pretty much the same (other than being made god knows where).

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281104298987?_trksid=p2057872.m27…

Now I have to work out how to remove my negative vote. Aha - you click on 'Votes' just under the title.

    • I'd ordered these eBay ones before this deal was posted. Just got them. While they seem ok, they do show signs of cheapness. The sheepskin inside and the outer layer are not the same - that is they are not made of sheepskin only. They have suede (cowhide) outers and sheepskin inside. Soles have a ripoff of the genuine sunburst. Made by ozlambugg.com.au seems another 'we are dinkum' but actually made in an undisclosed country.

Wish I'd seen the OP's post first.

I bought these from the store in Wynyard Station George Street entrance for $50. This is not a good deal, but $50 for the awesome Uggs was a good deal. C'mon rep, give em a better deal!

    • Maybe that was clearance stock or some other reason to be very cheap?

    • Hi Daddypabs, that store was NOT us.

Dont confuse us with every ugg boot company, there isnt only 1 ugg boot company, there are many,

$50 for short boots - NOT Australian made. I can guarantee you that. or if they were Australian made they were acrylic/synthetic.

Im not trying to argue, just simple point out that, yes you can go to Target or Kmart and get yourself a sweet pair of synthetic uggs for $20-$30 prob,

Our customers want a quality product, made the way UGGs are supposed to, in Australia from Genuine sheepskin,

$30 off short boots is a great deal, check out our competitors, no one else comes close.

      Cheers,

      • Thanks for clearing that up. Just checked and you were right. Next time I will buy your product. Didn't realize UGG was generic. Keep educating to stop the misinformation. Cheers.

  • Does the deal apply in store if I go there to try on & check sizes (I hear they run rather small)?

    • Hi Yael,

Come in and see us! we will apply the deal to store purchases too.

The address is 9 b Macbeth St Braeside 3195.

      Open until 4pm today.

      Thanks!

  • So if a seller uses the term 'UGG' does that imply that they're the real thing? Is that term copyright/protected? I remember there was a big stink a few years ago about this. The imitators argued that ugg was a generic term so could be used by anyone. How did that get resolved?

    • +4

      Hey,

The term UGG can be used freely by anyone in Australia / New Zealand.

Outside of these countries the word UGG is a trademark like Nike for example. They know of UGG as a brand everywhere else in the world, but we use UGG to describe the sytle of boot, which is why they lost their trademark case here.

      Now,

UGG Australia (owned by Deckers Outdoor - An American company) manufactures their brand mostly in China. Thats right, called UGG Australia, mostly made in China and owned by Americans.

They are also the biggest UGG boot brand in the world.

      We are different.

We manufacture our UGG boots at our factory in Melbourne, Australia. As mentioned before we use the finest sheepskin we can find, and make a quality product that we are very proud of, not only that we can compete on price with the biggest brands (that offer genuine sheepskin)

I hope this helps to clear the air a bit.

      Thanks,

      • +1

Just more on that, UGG Australia were the arseholes that starting making Ugg boots for the American market, then registered the name Ugg. They then set letters threatening legal action against all other makers of Ugg boots to stop using 'their' name, Ugg, because they owned it or else face a law suit.

Never ever buy UGG Australia boots.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ugg_boots_trademark_dispute

        • ^^^This is very much TRUE.

  • Nearly had you confused with these jokers:
    http://www.australianuggoriginal.net.au/

    • +1

      Hi Wayward,

That is not us. I know there is some confusion in the UGG marketplace which I assure you we are being proactive on trying to fix this issue since everyone else is happy to be riding the confusion.

      Thanks,

    • I did a bit of reading on the "Ugg" brand. The trademark is disputed and I think that "Ugg" is a generic term now. Hence there isn't really such a thing as "Fake Uggs" which sucks

      • Maybe only if they use the term 'genuine Ugg'. It's pretty complicated init?

      • +1

Generic in Australia / NZ correct.

UGG is still a brand outside of these countries,

There are also people that copy the UGG australia brand, which is illegal, they make their uggs to look exactly the same, using their logo, etc etc,

That is the definition of counterfit / fake uggs,

Some people think that anything that is not UGG australia is fake, that is simply not true,

You will not find a more genuine Australian UGG boot than an UGG boot company that actually makes them here, in Australia.

        I hope this helps,

        Thanks

  • I have ordered several boots from them, only found out that black boots would make black stain on the lighter colour socks.

    • Hi,

Im not sure if you mean you have ordered from our company or not, but I can assure you our UGG boots do not leave stains,

      Cheers,

  • Not available in very big sizes - a lot of styles only go to size 11 or maybe 12 mens. Only found one that was a 13 (I didn't look at every style). 12 used to be the max when I was young, but quite common now.

    • Quote from website:
"•For larger sizes please specify in notes at checkout. (we make up to AUS Men's 14) "

      • Correct,

Or you can specify in notes and we will honour that.

As mentioned before, we are in the business of happy customers.

        Thanks,

    • We do go up to an Australian mens 15, are you after a larger size?

We separate our sizes 13,14,15 as these need to be custom made and require more work (hence the price difference)

Happy to match the price if you need.

      Thanks,

  • My current pair of sheepskin slippers has just about had it… after 6 years of constant winter use. I like the real sheepskin ones over the synthetic ones despite the huge price difference because they keep your feet cozy and warm and your feet never get sweaty and gross. Definitely something worth spending extra money on. But not toooo much extra money, I am an ozbargainer after all.

So this deal has come along at a good time. Opportunistic purchase made.

    • Hi Glider,

Thanks for your kind comments and order! We are positive you will love your order! :)

  • +1

If you read it carefully, it doesnt actually say its made in Australia,

It says they have been making ugg boots for Australians, the lack of the made in Australia triange ( which we have ) also worries me.

All of our UGGs come with swing tags that prove we make them in Australia and from the finest genuine sheepskin.

We are a transparent company, with nothing to hide, we want our customers to enjoy our quality Aussie made product.

Again, the choice is yours, but for $9.95 to be sure you are getting a quality product. Easy choice.

Plus we offer capped postage, order 2 or more pairs and the postage is capped at $15 Australia wide.

    Thanks,

  • It's kinda like saying a Great Wall car is Australian because the iron ore is from here. Ok, they use Australian sheep skin, tan it, make them in China, stick on an Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy label and we, like the mugs we are, get taken in.

and hats off to the OP for answering patiently all our (in my case stupid) comments gracefully. They must spend half their time going over this stuff.

    • Unfortunately, that is correct.

If we werent in the industry, we would also fall for it, because if you stick Australia in the name, people automatically think its Australian or made in Australia.

We arent in the business to pull the wool over peoples eyes - ;) pun intended.

But seriously we try to give value to our customers in every way possible. We just want you to know that if you purchase from us, you are getting a quality made product, for a reasonable price and you can rest assured that it has been made in Australia from the best possible sheepskin available.

I appreciate the kind words, It does take time and some convincing to show people the truth, but everyone will feel better for it in the end.

If any of you are ever in Melbourne, pop in say hello, have a look at our massive range, and someone will even make you a coffee / tea!

      Have a great weekend.

  • $89 with free shipping over at Australian Leather. Plus a free Ugg Cardy Sock… whatever that is.
    http://www.australianleather.com.au/classic-short63

    • Again, no mention of Australian made, or Made in Australia triangle.

If you dont care about Australian made, dont pay $89 for your uggs, Kmart / Target / Ebay should have it cheaper.

      • I do care, which is why I read their "About Us" section before I posted.

        Australian Made
Australian Leather pays attention to detail and craftsmanship and is dedicated to raising the "Australian Made" standards and has gained a reputation for quality and service by using the finest top grade leathers and double face sheep and lambskins available for their products, utilizing eco-friendly dyes and sustainable eco-friendly materials to manufacturer and produce the highest quality Genuine Australian Made sheepskin Uggboots and Accessories.

        • Ok, seems weird to promote Australian made and not to have a world wide recognized logo on your site or uggs, surely that would boost sales, I would be hesitant, at the very least contact them for more information.

As always, you the customer has the choice.

  • Are these the soft floppy style or the stiff style?

    • Im not sure I understand the question.

      • I mean are these the soft floppy style or the stiff style? Your ugg boots. Do they stand up on their own or do they flop over. Is the hide soft and buttery like a lambswool rug or stiff like most uggboots?

  • I think I have a pair of these but I did not buy it on your site, in fact I bought it from Parklea markets up here in NSW. Do you by any chance supply to them?

Also, with the pair I have, the Tag on the inside says its a size W12. That would indicate a Womens 12, meaning a male 11 but I am a EUR 43, which doesn't match. If I order a pair what's your policy on exchanges?

  • Hi DanLG,

We dont directly supply anyone at Parklea markets, but if you email us the label I would be happy to point you in the right direction.

We accept exchanges gladly, usually our policy is that the customer pays freight both ways but if you have any issues, send them back to us and we will send you a replacement at our expense,

    Cheers,

  • I am based in Melbourne am I able to buy online and pickup in store? Or buy in store directly and get the boot for $89?

    • Hi,

Sure thing, come in and just say that you saw on Oz Bargain the short boots for $89 and we will honour that.

      9 b Macbeth St
      Braeside VIC 3195

      Thanks,

  • I'm not interested in paying a premium for the label, plus what is up with the stupid pointy toes on these boots - of all brands - for the last couple of years ?

  • Hello, are the sole on these boots good for walking? Or are they more for indoor wear?

    • Hi,

The soles are very durable, great for walking indoors and outdoors. They will last you a very long time.

      Thanks,
