    Total Amount Due$795.50

    • +1

      So your discount wasnt applied.

    • +1

      it should show $795.50

      • no worries, too late on this deal I guess.

    • This happened to me previously, take screenshots of the lower price, then purchase, and if you get charged the higher amount send an email with the screenshot. Worst case, you can ask for a refund. Mind you, it took a while to get it sorted and the credit back.

  • ahh… bought 2 x $100 and was just about to go back in and buy some more! #OzGreed

    • +3

i heard that #OzGreed is trending on twitting

  • +2

Goddamn you OZB.. more specifically EC.. lol..

Talk about peer pressure.. I dismissed it.. then i checked back and they've disabled the cards.. but i already had it in my cart.. next thing i know I'm automatically entering in my CC details..

I didn't want $1000 worth of credit at dick smith.. but $200 off.. what the hell am I going to buy?

    • You and I both!

    • im in the same boat. Caved in last minute

    • exact same thing happened to me lol

    • LOL I did exactly the same, although only $300 worth…now let's strap ourselves in for the DSE "if / but / maybe" order processing dance :D

    • what the hell am I going to buy?
      More Eneloop batteries… Ozbargain's treasure!!!

  • Still working on the mobile site! - just picked up $1000 worth

  • +3

lets all wait for the cancellation email and all the unhappy people.

    • +2

or happy people because they saved $795.50

  • I didnt want $1000 of dse gift cards too. Damm you!

  • grabbed $1000 worth for $795.5. While trying get another one it is now out of stock. Don't think they will honor them.

  • +1

Latenight14 is not valid anymore but got a $500 gift card. Thanks for posting :)

  • Now they've properly fixed the error. No more code working on the gift card.

  • well didn't realize the $1000, so ordered 2 X $1000 + 2 X $100. order is gone successful.

However don't know if they refuse the whole order, or just honor the $1000.

    Let's see.

    Thanks for the post easternculture.

    • oh u use two transactions?

      • Na, single transaction.

        Product code Quantity Description Price
        DSAU_J1943DIG 2 Dick Smith Gift Card Bonanza $500 $925.00
        DSAU_J1930DIG 2 $100 Dick Smith Digital Gift Card $185.00

        Grand Total (Incl.Tax) : $954.60

        • Weird coz the offer was Max $1000 for transaction and allowed 2 per person

Someone didnt code/check the offer before launching!

        • @Turd: Yes thats what I am worried about :D …

  • Just don't delete your egift email or your $1000 gift voucher will worth $0.

  • +2

It will be a miracle if they honor the orders.

    • They have done it in the past. I think they might.

Anyhoo, it was worth a try. :P

  • +1

Wonder how long it takes them to quickly contact the PR department to get them to write up a "Unfortunately, due to an unavoidable technical error affecting pricing, we have had to cancel your order under our terms and conditions."

We ALL know it's coming.. and then the 2 week delay for getting the amount refunded..

    $10 says I'm right.. lol

    • Probably emails going on right now!

    • $10, or $8.60, or $9.25?

      • LMAO!

    • No it will be the usual " we are unable to verify your payment information" which is the biggest croc of ……..

      • $795 has already hit my CC so I dunno how they would wriggle out of that one..

I bet it'll be because of the exclusions..

        • It's only a PRE-AUTHrisation.

        • @Turd: Yes, I know.. but to turn around and say that they can't verify my information will be obviously untrue..

        • +1

@Vladdo: That's what they do though, just a generic, email.

        • @Vladdo: Yep, thats exactly what they do and then they refund you

  • Not valid on mobile site as well. BUMMER!!

  • Crazy deal like this makes me wonder how long DS could last…

  • 14%OFF Code not valid any more

  • will these cards be posted or emailed from dick smith?

  • Missed out!

  • Almost pulled a trigger of $800 poorer…

  • missed? expired?

Coupon code "LATENIGHT14" is not valid.

    BTW, no more $500 gift card…. :(

  • I'm still struggling to spend the 1/2 price ($10) cards (bought with 5% off Woolies cards) from last year!

$10 is now about my spending limit now at Dick's gadget emporium. $100? $500? Not for me ;-)

Used some to buy mainly 80%+ off $1 & $2 items the other night. Discount was genuine on items I bought, as back to original price.

Still, 5% discount on 50% discount on 80%+ discounts is nice.

  • Ah missed out

  • Just an FYI, when Groupon have their 7.5% off deals on BigW/Woolies eGift cards you can use these to purchase many gift cards (inc Dick Smith, JB, Myer etc) in store at Woolies or BigW so you get the same discount.

    • this is 20% discount

    • Just be careful when dealing with Groupon.

In my 20 years of buying over the internet, I've only had 2 organisations threat me like shit. Groupon was one of those 2. I told Groupon where they could stick it. Groupon are about as bad as i've dealt with. They cancel orders and get very narky for no reason.

Groupon said "no driver's license photo, no Woolies vouchers". What a pack of !@#$!@#@. That bullshit is a first for me - and i've bought LOTS off the net. An no, I refuse to send them photos of credit cards, drivers licenses, etc.

      • +2

I'm now curious as to which the other organisation was?

  • Thanks EC.

Has anyone got the confirmation email yet?

  • +1

My order says Complete under My Account, although haven't received any further email confirmations since the "Order acknowledgement" one.

    • +1

This happened last time gift card coupons stacked (17.5%), they took the full 5 days to sent it through by email despite saying 'complete'

  • Botherations, should never spoil myself with a lazy 'ol morning in bed…really gutted I missed this. Well done EC.

  • They might be holding a emergency meeting right now on how to deal with our fellow Ozbargainers.

    • Dick's Coin Master has been asked to deal with this matter

  • Does OZB have a url redirector? Otherwise they'll see all the giftcards being bought from OzBee's..

    • OzBEE is where most of Dick's business comes from

      • Time for DS to give back.

        • Dick just handed me $202.25 from this deal. I feel like a gigolo

        • @easternculture: If.. and I mean, IF.. this thing comes through.. i'm really struggling what i'm going to do with $1000.. maybe i flip them on gumtree..

        • @Vladdo:

wait for the next 10% off macs that stacks with a code and buy cheapest macbook . Thats what im going to do

        • @easternculture: I don't like macs :) lol my wife has a mac but only uses windows on it.. wish they sold a surface pro.. i might be interested in that..

    • i've been thinking about this for a long time and i think its a pretty good idea. On the downside it means sites that get ozbargained won't be able to see the source of the traffic and sign up to post stuff to us directly. On the upside, ozb won't get a bad rep for smashing pricing errors :p

  • +1

C'mon Dick…approve my order already…gonna get me 20 packs ma'fckn Eneloops boy byahhhhhh!

  • -8

If Dick Smith do not honour this deal, I will never buy a thing from them ever again!

  • Haven't got mine yet.

  • +1

    I just got cancelled email

  • +2

yeah, I got the same email. (ordered 1 x $100 gift card).
shame I can't even get it at 7.5% off anymore either!

  • +1

Same email here too - worth a try though!

  • +1

Yup cancelled here too; it was worth a try!

  • +1

Yep I got 2 x $500 card… Oh well was worth a shot I suppose! I'm surprised they aren't honoring them this time around. Whatevs just refund me lol!

  • -1

Yup… got the same email too. Too bad for them, I usually would have never given them my money if it weren't for the gift card sale. I'll take my money somewhere else… wheeee!!!

    • Well, think of the bright side, I hardly buy form Dick Smith, I was wondering what I should do with this Dick Smith only gift card.

  • -2

Got that dreaded email as well. Now the wait for my $387.75 refund.

    • +1

I hope to get $10 more than that in my refund.

  • -1

I blame the guy who dobbed us in..

Dick smith hasn't sold me a cracker.. I keep buying stuff which they then cancel.. I do hope that it's costing them a lot of money, employing admin staff/IT guys to then send emails/cancel orders etc..

And before anyone starts.. When you have an outward facing website, you should be 100% sure that no one can find loopholes.. irrespective of if its pricing error, or worse, security issues..

    • No issue here though, no loophole, no pricing error. The terms excluded gift cards, they honoured the e cards already sent and refunded the e cards not yet sent. This was not a loophole, dick smith covered themselves, we all know dick smith check this site, yet the op still posted the deal

    • -1

I blame the guy who dobbed us in..

      perhaps they missed this :(

  • Cheap money for DSE for a month or so

    • +1

I wonder if someone would like to investigate this and see if they purposefully let the loophole happen in order to "borrow" money from customers for days at a time. Just my personal thought is all.
