3000 Yen (~ $32 AUD) off Hotel Bookings + 10% off Tour Bookings at JAPANiCAN.com (No Min Spend)

160
thxhotel+thxtour

Book a payment-in-advance hotel plan or tour (or both!) and enter the promo code when booking. The promo code for hotel bookings is thxhotel, and the code for tours is thxtour. You can enter the promo code after proceeding from your cart to the booking details form, and you can see that the discount has been successfully applied on the following details confirmation page. Each promo code can be used once per JAPANiCAN.com user.

You will need to create an account to get to the final payment page where the coupon code is entered but all of the hotels I tried that were available for "payment-in-advance" worked with the code. To get best value it is best to book as individual nights.

For those who haven't heard of JAPANiCAN they are Japan’s largest travel booking website and part of JTB so they are very reputable.

  • $32 Aud in title please.

  • 3000 yen = $32-+ AUD. Wooow big saving! Book through hotels.com and they will price match any website + you will get welcome reward. After spending 10 nights you get 1 night for free, basically you are getting %10 off every night but you will only get it in the future after spending 10 night + dont forget cashrewards %5 cash back.

    • $32 is a big saving on a $55 hotel booking. Keep in mind that with hotels.com price match you first need to book on their website at the full price and then lodge a claim for a refund. They also have this worrying clause in their T&Cs:

The Price Match Guarantee does to apply to… prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public.

We reserve the right in our sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Price Match Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you.

So you could do that or you could just book the lower price immediately with JAPANiCAN who also offer a larger range of hotels in Japan than hotels.com.

      • From experience i always take a screenshot of the price(Including coupon) in the other website including, then claim for refund of the difference and they always refund the difference to my account within 5 days. I prefer Hotels.com because of their welcome reward. If the hotel im looking for is not offered at Hotels.com i will book it from the cheapest website i could find. I dont think you will be going to Japan for only one night? So the saving of $32 on $55 doesnt make sense to me, unless its $32 saving each night.

        • $55 was just an example hotel I found in Tokyo. You could make your bookings for one night at a time (even at the same hotel) to save $32 each time as there is no minimum spend. I think many people would book one night stays in various parts of Japan though, especially those using the JR Rail Pass to travel to many destinations.

        • @donga100: "Each promo code can be used once per JAPANiCAN.com user."

        • @MilfHunter: Each promo code can be used "once" per JAPANiCAN.com "user".

        • @donga100:

          could you elaborate?
going to stay at Tokyo Shinjuku for 3 nights.

the promo code can be applied 3 timex ( 32x3 savings ) if I book one by night?

would I get different rooms each night?

can I use the same account or I need to create 3 japanican accounts to use them?
          thanks

        • @y_owez: Yes, you could make 3 accounts and book 3 nights in a row at the same hotel. The disadvantage is that you wouldn't be guaranteed the same room for the whole stay but usually if you email the hotel they can arrange it for you.

A friend and I booked the Robot Restaurant show through Japanican last year when they had 30% off. The show classifies as a 'tour' so you can redeem the 10% off.

We actually got lost in Shinjuku's red light district looking for the venue, and ended up calling Japanican for directions. The location might give you some idea of what the show is actually like…

  • NIce ! Almost booked a hotel this morning.

And it saves on bullet train voucher too !

Is it just me or does finding the hotel that accept payment-in-advance extremely hard?

most of them only accept payment on arrival

  • Most tours are over-priced, compared to self-guided tour of course.
Anyone see any good deals for Tokyo/Hakone/Kyoto/Kobe/Osaka?

Thanks OP! Just booked a decent looking hotel in Osaka for $26!

    • I think I might have looked at the same one. Plenty of decent looking hotels around that price all over the country.

      • Booked Via Inn Shin-Osaka, just around the corner from Shin-Osaka station, which I need for a morning Shinkansen. Seemed to have OK reviews.
