Update FAQ:

Deal still available expiry extended till end of June or until people start having problems getting the discount

This is month to month "No Contract" for customers currently on $50 red sim only, postpaid, month to month, $50 red sim discounted to $35 for aslong as your on that plan

If you get told they cant do it ask to speak to the RED Team , retention team or hang up & try a different operator

Its possible to get it on a new account but no guarantee, I think they first put you on the $35 sim, then bump you up to the $50 sim & apply the discount, can try over the phone but in-store may be more cluey & can get it done, no guarantee but it should be done with the right staff member

If you work it out your better off buying a handset outright "at the right price" then signing up to a new contract

Call or go into store & ask for the 30% discount off your existing $50 red sim only plan, went into Vodafone store today the lady discounted my $50pm red sim plan to $35pm, told a friend who was on same plan he called Vodafone & they applied the same discount, offer ends June 2nd, note this is for existing accounts only, there is a way to get it if your a new customer but it's a bit complicated you need a staff member in store to do it.

        But I'm not on sim only currently? I contacted Vodafone Friday and they said they couldn't upgrade my postpaid phone plan to a sim only plan with the discount and keep the same number?!

      Pretty much, just call & say there's a 30% discount offer for existing customers on $50 red sim only & you would like that applied to your plan, throw in the "my friend just received the discount etc.."

          No your talking about signing a new account up, even if you signed a new account with 5gb then dropped back to the discounted $35pm you lose the extra 2gb, like my plan I had 4.5gb but I'll lose 1.5 gb when my discounted plan begins next bill cycle

      If you have multi numbers under same account (e.g. 2 or more number), yes you can simply get Rate Plan Change to have the discount.

          From the information I got, the 30% discount only valid 12 months if you are a business customer.
          But you're free to change you plan to consumer if you'd like to have the awesome offer which plenty people getting ATM. Good luck!

          Only downside with Vodafone is I've been noticing is congestion on Data during peak times.

      Nope, you need to have an existing postpaid service with Vodafone and add additional service to be eligible for this offer (discount only apply to the second number).

          Looks similar but I think that's an additional service, on the flyer attached it says " Add a $50 red sim only to your Vodafone account and save"

          As long as you have more than 1 service with Vodafone, then call up customer service change your plan to $50 Red, the offer will automatically apply. Or just pop into any Vodafone store.

          @czking: You will not qualify for the current deal as you are still in contract for those numbers. This is for the Sim Only month to month (ie. no contract) deal that does not include a handset.

    I think OP and Cleverbook are referring to two different plans , one requires an additional service and one does not. I called, but customer service said no way for a single sim.

      They are the same deal. With manager's discretion, you may have a chance of having the 30% off discount for a single sim however, this discount is only for a limited time if applied in store (unless you've contacted retentions to which they've offered it for the lifetime of the plan).

    I moved from the $35 Sim Only to the $50 Red last week, at 30% discount for as long as I keep the plan.

    I just rang up and said I was looking at Amaysim who had better plans, and they put me through to their retention team who were able to apply the discount and move me to the new plan straight away.

    It's the only service I have with them.

      She wouldnt do apply additional data to my existing $50 red sim plan.

    A lovely lady from the Mumbai call center has confirmed. Offer applicable to only ONE number on an existing account with multiple services. You can do a rate plan change (upgrade from a different plan) on the spot and claim the offer. If your old plan was on a 12M or 24M contract, then exit fees will apply because you would be changing to a $50 red month-to-month. Basically re-confirmed what cleverbook has been saying.

      Perthian suggest calling tomorrow during 9-8 as sales department is closed so friendly staff at mumbai may not know about it & its customer service running now, if you dont get it over phone go in store & ask for it, mention friends have been given this offer, I hesitated posting this deal until my mate called up & instantly got it, I should have mentioned I also called & asked for the deal & the operator said yes then I told him I already got it an hour ago lol, read @ajobbins post above got the same deal

    Yes, call during the day and say you're looking at moving your service elsewhere. The retention team (based here in Oz) only work office hours I believe, but have more flexibility than anyone else (customer service or sales) to give you a deal and keep you as a customer.

    I have two services one on contract and the other on Sim only $35 and I just called and changed my Sim only plan to Red Sim only for 30% off $50

    They would only give me 4Gb of data since the other 1Gb is for online only

    Very happy with $35 for unlimited calls and 4Gb of data coming off $500 and less than 1Gb of data!

        Oh wow looks like they just changed it - the "EOFY bonus data" didn't have "online only" on it before only the "extra data"

    As an existing customer on an old $10 vodafone plan, I called them up and switched to this offer a few weeks ago. I ported my wifes service (also in my name but on prepaid) using the $30 shared option, so all up I pay $65 per month for two unlimited services and 4GB data. Very happy!!

        Late reply I know (sorry), yes I was on Hot for Vodafone. All I did was ring them and mention this offer and what they had available for me and he switched me over on the spot. I read somewhere in Whirlpool that Vodafone have been contacting Hot for Vodafone customers telling them they need to switch to another plan (I hadn't yet had that call) so I don't think you'd have any trouble.

    Is this offer available only to those with bold multiple services bold, or can someone with just bold one service ** bold** have this applied to their account?

    It reads like some have had luck activating it with just one service, whereas others needed multiple services ???

    I am on a Red 50 plan. I added a data share plan 2 weeks ago for $35 AND got 2GB extra.

    I called Vodafone now and got a 30% discount on the first plan which make is $35.

    I was on a regular $35 m-m plan so I rang the CS and asked them to upgrade it to Red $50 for $35. I have 2 connections converted to this red plan now (4 connections in my name in total).
    Also, if you bring a new connection or convert a prepaid to this red plan , you get 5GB data for one year and 4GB afterwards instead of 3GB that I got.

    Good to see everyone getting the discount applied, I just called up & got the extra 2gb applied, but took a bit of arguing, said quite a few people have been getting the 5gb why wasnt I getting it etc.. then they changed it, so brings it up to 5gb, the extra 2gb lasts for 2 years, this deal is so good its actually worth buying a phone outright if you can get the right price for the handset

        Called again and got through to a confused girl in Mumbai who had no idea what the red team was, eventually got her to ask someone and transferred me through. Red team in Hobart are extremely friendly and were happy to do it.
