Cheers, my old's old Uniden is on the blink.

  • shopbot says Dick Smith is $40.47, so does that mean their big sale is only $1 cheaper.

BTW, Trent , ordered a LG G3 phone last night, thank for your searches/info a few weeks back.

I think it was already on special yesterday and they took a bit more off today, original price is $84.95, OW $64.95 :)

    • Batteries aren't available
"This product is currently out of stock."

  • Is this 2 pack Dect phone better? (no answering machine)
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/cordless-telephones/panasonic-1-…

    • Why would it be better if there's no answering machine and one less handset at nearly the same price ?

      • Because it's dect & I was wondering if the sound quality is better. I don't need three handsets, nor an answering machine. Since my primary use for a phone is mamking phone calls, IMHO sound quality is important.

        • They are both DECT.

I have the triple pack with answering machine. I got them at office works during the last sale.
        They are
        +ves
        + lightweight,
+ have a good signal range
        + easy to use
        + various ring tones
        + very good audio quality
        -ves
        - small display (not good for vision impaired)
        - very slippery
        - average battery life compared to older models

For the price, they are brilliant. They work with my wifi network and are fine with VoIP

Better to buy 2nd hand on ebay.

Got a better model Panasonic set for less than $5. Courtesy of VOIP and the internet in general, sellers are giving these old-school type phones away.

    • +1

Except batteries are usually shagged and very expensive to replace. The older Panasonic models are definitely nicer, but for the cost, I'd go for the newer ones.

      • one of my phones did indeed have a dying battery… but batteries off ebay are cheap for phones! lol got one brand new also less than $5 posted.

    • No warranty though, and second-hand batteries.

      • -2

Lol, its $5. For a better phone.

Feel free to pay quadruple the price for a warranty that a lot of the time isn't worth the paper its written on.

Besides, there is Paypal protection (lol!) if i really need to feel entitled to protect my $5 investment.

I'd also pay $5 not to deal with Tricky Dickie! lol

So a two handset phone made in 2006 for which you paid $15.24 is a superior buy to a three handset phone made in 2015 that costs only $24.10 more, which includes fresh batteries, a warranty and more modern technology? Fair enough. You pays your money, you takes your choice.

        • Can I interest you in some used condoms?

        • -1

          @Boodek: cost 99cents. heard of pick-up?

Keep dreaming this is a "modern" phone. lol

It is kind of like saying your cheap + nasty 2015 model VHS video cassette player is better than my older, better-built Japanese VCR.

listen, not going to argue with fools. feel free to give Dick your money. No problem.
