Philips SHP9500 Over-Ear Headphones @ $57.96 Delivered from COTD

190

Full credit to Graaace who initially recommended this product.

I looked it up on head-fi and some other corners of internet and it sounds like this is a pretty good deal for an open headphone that is usually priced around 80-100 USD.

  • That's indeed a very good deal, especially when AUD is so low.

  • It says $79.95 + postage and handling?

    • Need to put it in the cart and put in your post code, then the new price will come up :)

  • i gave up.. more like "Crash of the Day" bargain hunt. Just timing out.

buying one just to see whats all the fuss at massdrop when they go on sale.

massdrop did Philips Fidelio L1 for like 99$usd

    • The SHP9500 are a great deal for $57, but for $80 probably not so… They are not the messiah. They entered the market at $200 from memory, but for that price I would have been quite angry If i purchased them. My Chinese Takstar HI-2050 are, for me, a much nicer sounding and much more super-comfortable headphone.

Don't fuss that much over them.

But if you bought them for the price listed here, I'd be pleased!

Fidelio deal sounds (ha!) pretty good to me.

Having received these SHP9500 this morning and wearing them since then (about 8 hours straight) I find it difficult to believe there could be a much more super-comfortable headphone :O

        • +1

Yep… I never tried a headphone that is more comfortable than this.

          @koreainhyuk:

That's why the Takstars are so incredible!

I'm not saying that the SHP9500s are uncomfortable or terrible sounding - totally the opposite! - but the way people talk about them you'd think they were "end game" headphones.

Anyway, I guess these are some pretty great first world problems to have.

          Enjoy the headphones!

        • @Droz: haha, no problems. I got what you meant :)

  • Done, thanks. Had to wait ages for the site to respond at every step tho - looks like COTD are getting hammered.

    Purchased, thanks :)
Came to $49.97 as I purchased the free shipping option awhile back.

BTW, use the COTD app. I used the one for android and had pretty much zero issues.
Took about 2 minutes to load. But had no problems adding to my cart or purchasing.

  • Which one is better this or AD700X/AD900X?

    • +2

The 900 is probably 200 times better than the 700.

    • Will compare when I get my SHP9500s (I have AD700), but from reviews looks like the 9500 has a more forward, lively sound (many consider the 700's too neutral) and better bass (esp when modded)but the 700's have better soundstage and are because of this considered the ultimate for gaming.

  • Nice, back in stock and got the last pair. It always pays to check these deals for a few days just in case they do inventory and add another pair to the store.

  • Is catchoftheday typically slow with shipping?

I ordered X1s the day before from Amazon, and there a very good chance I'd get them first…

    • They aren't the fastest but they should have been all delivered by now.

      • Thanks.

I consider myself patient, but I do get annoyed when international orders go through faster than local Aussie ones.

    • They give you tracking number. :)

      • Yah. Thanks. I've been tracking it, and progress was very slow, which is why I asked.

It's out for delivery today, and so is my package from the day before which had to cross an ocean.

        • Yeah, I hate when that happens.
