    specs?

    Dual core mtk processor, 4g rom and a horrible tft screen. Seems like recipe for disaster even for $59

      So show us a better option at $59

          don't know if better but around the same price and full win 8.1, could be good for someone?

          @seraphim2017:
          You have to compare like with like. Windows tablet different market.

        • +1

          @redcreek200: cut that crap, both are budget tablets for basic Web browsing and media consumption.

          @redcreek200:
          So you neg me @seraphim for saying windows tablet a different market ?

          I having nothing against windows tablets but no option for me as some apps I have have android versions only. So comparing a windows tablet with an android on a price point doesn't work.

        • @maxhu:
          Abuse away if that's your thing.

          Edit: I use my cheap tablet for language learning. For this I use an app that's available in android only. So much for your "web surfing only"

          Windows 8 is not good for anyone…

        • @redcreek200:

          I don't think maxhu said anything about "web surfing only". Rather that web browsing and media consumption are typical use cases for similar products in this price range.

          apologies, just thought this end of the scale, all it'd be used for would be YouTube and web browsing! still a cheap australia sourced win 8 for some people though, even if hideous spec, as long as you don't try nle on one! :)

          @octagonalman:
          He was generalising and said basic tablets serve the same market - browsing and media consumption. Not correct. Cheap tablets are used for sorts of applications. To say that that someone buys a cheap tablet just to browse the web or watch video is just incorrect.

  • The title is misleading
    Alcatel Pixie not Pixel

    A Pixel is a much dearer better spec device

    Guys I won one of these in a Raffle.

    It was quickly sold on Ebay.

    The screen made me cry, like a "why would they attach a screen so hideous!?" cry not a "I'm so happy to see you" cry.

    Avoid unless you don't like your eye balls.

      The poor screen specs were an instant negative (TFT 960 x 540).

      I'm using a Huawei 7" bought for $27 from Coles. The screen is probably it's best feature for the money (IPS 1024x600). A well built but older single core unit.

      It has its uses, mainly for the screen… Use it for offline GPS, movies, music, etc in the car via a Bluetooth head unit - crucially, viewed at an angle it is still crisp & clear. Take it on my travels to watch internet TV & videos. It's in daily use.

      Cheap units have their uses, but I wouldn't bother with this one.

  • Light and Thin, it's neither.

    it's been all day and they have only sold one.

    • 408 clicks & only 1 purchase (& that may not be from an OzBargainer)!

  • attention: this one has no GPS.

  • I might just start buying a new tablet everyday and playing frisbee with it til it breaks everyday.
