$2 Double Bondi Burger at Oporto Carillon City, Perth

620

Normal price is apparently $10,49, this seems to be an introductory offer.

Found this to be really good value for $2.

because we're overpriced for everything else

  • Anyone willing to ship a couple over the borders?

  • It's normally $10.49!?

    • That's odd, I buy small double fillet bondi meals all the time.. I swear that's what I pay for the entire combo.

      • Yeah could be the combo but it didn't actually say that on the board, it just mentioned prices for single, double and triple burger and it didn't show any sign of chips or anything else.

Anyway, that reminds me they also have a voucher at the counter which gives you free chips for any purchase over $2,99 ;)

        • look closely you will see chips and a can of drink next to the price, pretty small but it's there.

        • If only this Oporto was near me T_T both of the ones I went to have now closed down. I have to drive for 30 mins or so to get to the closest one now.. heartbroken

  • Thanks OP! Just the thing after 18 hours travel.

I'm inside waiting for take away and the crew working are laughing their heads off

  • Thanks OP! got a couple of them. Offers ends on June 7th

    • Sorry might be a dumb question, offer ends 7th June, so is 7th June included or today (6th June) is the last day?

      • June 7th is included so ends Sunday June 7th

brochure in store states the deal ends on the 7th of June

  • From this comment? I don't actually know when it ends.

  • Belmont Oporto gave me this price earlier this week even though I wasn't aware of the special. Big tick for that.

Just ordered 4 for $8 at Bentley WA. Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner sorted!

Staff at Bentley real courteous too.

bought a few burgers at Mirrabooka and used my $5 app credit. just as the transaction went through, the manager came rushing over and said i couldn't use my credit for the burgers. he told me a sob story that the burgers normally cost $7.50 and they were making a loss with the offer. each store apparently has its own policies about what the credit can be used for. so i told him to put it in writing on the front counter.

didn't have any problems using my app credit at other Oporto stores. not going back to that cackhole any time soon. seriously, why do stingy muppets go into business then try to weasel out of offers claiming that they're losing money? they'd lose a lot more with their bad attitudes

    • Because when your a franchise head office tells you what to do even if it means you sell at a loss. So that "sob story" coukd be true.

Not saying that it should of been in writing but saying sometimes it is tough when your a franchise. Didn't see you mention that the manager had a bad attitude just telling you a sob story.

Also no need to to get nasty you can still use that $5 credit elsewhere and it is still $5.

Sometimes folks on here get righteous in their deal hunting.

      • what can i say, if he didn't like head office telling him what to do, he should've set up an independent burger shop instead of buying up a franchise.

i've heard all sorts of BS excuses from franchisees so many times now over the years so i'm getting rather tired of this.

and as for the laughable claim i got "nasty", mate, i was being assertive and seeking clarification from him why he thought he was special enough to make up his own rules with regards to the loyalty program.

you think i enjoy being made to look like a criminal just for legitimately using some store credit that Oporto gave me?

        • You got nasty in your post.

I understand what you mean re franchisees, but they all there trying earn a living. It has happened to me previously but I either pointed it out or just agreed when I could see their point. Subway is a notorious offender here, but when a family member of my wife's told me why they got out of a Subway franchise it was because it was very hard to control the prices and you HAD to buy from their suppliers as well. Sometimes he had to sell things for a loss because of a Subway promotion, they called that marketing. Subway still took a percentage even when you made a loss.

Nowadays you can choose to be in a promotion or not but then you run into the problem you have, where there is inconsistencies. Happened to me when they were running the extra bacon promo, entered the store tried to order but was told the store wasn't part of the promotion. Shrugged my shoulders and moved on, but I have never visited that store again when I wanted something on promo.

        • @jlogic: lol that word nasty again…calling someone a muppet is pretty damn mild considering what else is/could be said on the internet.

i'm not begrudging anyone trying to earn a living but i draw the line at making up your own little rules for a rewards program that suit you isn't the way to treat your customers.

of course they expect us all to be complacent instead of standing up for ourselves.

i sure as hell don't need to be treated like a criminal for buying a few burgers and chips (which incidentally went over the $5 credit). and if he were making such a huge loss on every burger and enjoyed making up rules, why didn't he try to limit the number burgers i ordered?

i received no such nonsense at the South Perth store, where the staff member applied the $5 credit straight away without me asking.

  • This makes me sad :( I love me some oportos.

  • Is the offer valid today too. I can't see any posters here.
