    only 10 pieces left

  • Not sure if less than $1 off is really considered a bargain.

  • Note the warning about fake oscilloscope kits!

Would have loved one of these training kits in the past.

      fake? This is genuine one.

      • So full refund if not genuine? That warning makes all purchases of these seem more risky.

        • +2

Yes, and it's 100% genuine. Our purchasing department had confirmed with our suppliers for times before we purchasing. Please kindly remove the word "fake". Thanks!

          @ICStation:
I was simply stating there are reportedly fakes. Because of that, there needs to be reassurance these are not fakes, for people to feel safe purchasing.

As this is a self assembly kit, it is probably harder to tell if any problem in the finished unit is due to our construction errors, or quality of the supplied product. A riskier proposition.

But basically, ordering around a potential customer is not the way to reassure buyers.

If you read my comment, I did not state you're supplying fakes. I have supported your previous deals & bought some interesting gear.

I found the warning while researching the product, reading reviews, downloading the manual, etc. I was very interested!

Your insistence that I remove a general warning makes me more hesitant about buying. So I've removed my order from the cart.

Removed my subscription to these deals.
          Lost me as a customer.
          Bye.

LOL @ over-reaction and dummy spit.

You are from Australia, ICstation is from China. Language is different.

Your post DOES read like THESE kits are fake - I read it exactly that way myself. It's only after clicking the link and reading that it's abouit eBay sellers… however the inference is still there.

In retrospect, I reckon you could have worded so it is less misleading, and more of a warning.

        • @llama:
So it's all a problem with language ;-)
That's a common excuse by traders.

Have you dealt with suppliers on the ground in Shenzhen? I have good Chinese friends there. Unfortunately, my experience there was reassurances by suppliers/ manufacturers were nearly worthless.

The guarantee here is based on a reassurance by a supplier. I could not tell if the suppliers claim was accurate, so decided on caution.

Suppliers acting honestly can be unwittingly supplied with fakes. But if fakes are suspected, I expect a business to do more than ask a supplier if they are selling fakes!

llama, how do you or any of us know these kits are not fakes? It's a risk.

Very similar discussions about fakes in the supply chain play out all the time… absolute protest of how could you question my integrity, I don't sell fakes. Strangely prices & quality tell differently in some of my experiences.

It's humorous in markets where one trader tells you not to buy from the other because they sell fakes. When you point out the stock is from the same boxes, oh boy ;-)

And I am not just talking about my interactions with suppliers in China.

In Australia, a small shopping centre retail business chain reportedly sold "fakes", group buying sites here have run into major issues with fakes. Even the Queensland Police Minister was photographed wearing a reportedly fake D&G belt.

I bought name brand imported shoes that I realised were fakes (not listed on official site, tags were poor single colour reproduction of trademark, etc) & confronted the warehouse sale staff. They did not deny it, just gave me money to be quiet and go away.

But ask any of them if the product is a fake… stand well clear. And that's not a foreign language or culture issue. It's common in most countries. I don't stand for it & don't back down.

EBay businesses aren't that separate from normal supply channels. They are all buying from similar suppliers. As the supply chain reportedly includes fakes, it is wise to be cautious about all businesses selling these kits.

As I said, these are kits. Kits come with increased risk to purchasers, especially if the quality turns out to be questionable. Until you build it, you don't know if the code is well written. It's very different to off the shelf units which can be tested.

I worked for a semiconductor wholesaler & put together small batches of trial kits for a retail outlet. No warranty existed as soon as you started construction!

As for my original warning, I had added a disclaimer that the issue of fakes did not imply this business supplied them.

Posting on a phone is not as easy with complex issues like these. One with auto-correct disease & very shaky Amaysim data signal is worse.

The OP replied within seconds so my extended comment was lost. I explained that I was not referring in particular to this business shortly afterwards.

Commenting relatively long after, you were unaware of that. But the timestamp on comments is a good clue. It was an 11 minute discussion. Discussions evolve. Reading later that is not so apparent.

Removing the warning as requested, (mod would have to remove all that discussion, I could not change the comment) would have left others without the advantage of deciding for themselves. As the business wanted that, I was not willing to do so & explained my reasons.

You would never have known about the potential risks of fakes in the supply chain if the OP had got their way!

I decided I do not trust simple assurances that products are not fake, so withdrew my order. They lost me as a customer in this order. Without trust, a notification of their latest deal is worthless to me.

They have done nothing to reassure us beyond saying effectively 'trust us'. My future custom depends on that reassurance.

          That was a personal decision.
I am happy with my considered decision.
