I literally thought they had some rooms discounted to $30 ;)

The Southport price seems dodgy. I paid $90 just doing a regular booking in early May this year.

    • Might not be a great deal for all locations, but I booked a Harbour Suite with 3 Bedrooms in Bondi for $1619.50, same date without the code comes up as $2050.00

      • The point I'm making is that it looks like a case of jacking up the rack price for the period of the sale. So you probably could have booked that room for $1619.50 before the sale period and again after the sale. I'm not disputing that the code works, and if you are booking today then that is today's bargain.

Can't speak for Gold Coast, but I often stay at Bondi, and have been watching the Bondi prices for the last couple of Months.

Meriton uses a "live pricing model" similar to the way airlines price seats. Meriton seems to be cheapest around 3-6 weeks from the stay date. More than 6 weeks out, the price generally does not change (unless there is a shortage of rooms, then it goes up.)

At around 6 weeks some prices start to drop on the rooms with lots of availability, and usually bottoms out around the 3-4 week mark when prices start to go up (unless there is a lot of empty rooms).

So usually if you book in that 6-3 week window you will get the best prices, even without any codes.

    • Now that the code has expired, I thought I would check your theory.

I looked at Southport for next Friday, it's now $295 per night for a "Modern Suite with 1 Bedroom". It was $90 with the code.

      • I just checked it now on the Meriton website and it said 200 for this Friday. So their prices are all over the place. Interestingly, Tripadvisor says the price range for that hotel is 83 to 268. As I said, I paid 90 last time, and about 115 the time before, and that's without using any codes or special deals.
But hey, the code worked on those days so that's the bargain for those days.
