Texas Instruments TI-30XB MultiView Scientific Calculator - $20.12 (Click & Collect) @ Dick Smith

40

It's exam time for uni students and I found what I think is a decent calculator at a good price.

For UQ students (as I'm studying there), this calculator is on the approved list providing you obtain a label for it. I prefer this over the Casio FX-82 ones, but I have the Casio as a backup.

Price comparison:

Store Price
Dick Smith Online $20.12
Officeworks $29.98
The Co-op $31.45 members $34.95 non-members

Edit: Updated link from eBay to Dick Smith as the eBay listing was removed. Price changed from $19.93 to $20.12

The green colour takes away from the serious number crunching this thing can do imo.

My old black Casio screams NERD, but the numbers are easier to read than the green background I reckon.
Gotta go, my turn to roll on Dungeons and Dragons :).

  • Had this back in high school, the "pretty print" makes this a great calculator for people like me who struggled typing out complex equations in normal text.

  • Isn't Texas Instruments one of the first companies to make handheld Scientific Calculators?

Can I play Drugwars on this?

  • just wondering why you prefer this over the FX82?

oh it seems like it can leave answers in exact value (and hence it's not on the approved list for the NSW HSC)
