Gift Bag Valued at over $400

Who valued it ? Alan Bond ??

    • +6

Doubt he's valuing anything these days..

      • +2

        I wouldn't bet on it…

        • LOLD

    • -1

Probably old left over promo packs and samples.
We used to do that when I was working at Chemist Warehouse.

    • +1

I know this is a joke, but I did do a breakdown of the RRPs of each item in my bag if you'd like to take a look - http://pynkbunny.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/priceline-skincare-…

My bag was at $385, but it was missing two items it turns out.

But that's full retail price, and who buys full retail price from Priceline…

      • +1

I thought I was missing some items to until I saw the word "or" in front of some items.

The remaining $15 of RRP is probably for the bag itself.

Well, look at it this way. Even if you only use half of the items you receive and you only ever buy anything at half price, you've still got yourself about $100 worth of products for free.

        • Oh no, I genuinely was missing items! So for each brand there will be at least one product. I didn't have any Burt's Bees at all - Priceline CS agreed it was a mistake and told me they'd get back to me within a week about replacing it.

I'm pretty happy with the bag! Just thought I'd break it down, haha.

        • @athy: hope it gets sorted out soon

      • One correction, Sukin green clay super green is 50ml.

        $16 is 100ml

      • Another correction.

        Antipodes is 10ml.

        RRP $60 is for 30ml.

  • Hurry? It's only day 1, there are 14 days remaining and you're already telling us to hurry…

    • +8

Surprisingly these gift bags do run out.

  • +8

lol probably $400 worth of junk they've picked up from COTD for $3.

    • +11

All the sarcastic remarks from people that don't realise this is one of the better bargains that come around.

      • +11

I reckon, as someone who is into makeup and skin care I know that this is actually an amazing deal.

      • Where's your (and lunawinter's) positive vote then?

Mine wasn't sarcastic. Just that it seemed more fitting to say "hurry" if there were only 2 days remaining.

I'm even thinking that you could buy $69 of air and this would still be a good deal (i.e. To buy this bag for $69)

        • Good call, actually they usually run out really quick here and I wanted to go grab one before I voted up. I know the city (Sydney) stores used to go 1st day too.

        • Sydney cbd is all sold out now

    • +2

Actually every single one of those is by a reputable brand. La roche posay and antipodes are both quite expensive products so I am surprised they're in there to be honest. I think it's more likely that they are close to expiry or possible lines that will be discontinued soon maybe. I can vouch for this being a really good deal though, i've used a few of the products in the bag and been happy with them all.

The Dr Lewinns moisture balm is $24 by itself
      Antipodes toner $24
      Loral Magic blur $20

Those 3 products appear to be in the bag and are still for sale in the store at those prices, just those three cover the cost to get the bag in the first place.

    • -7

For $400 I can probably buy much more skincare either from strawberry net or iherb.com.

      • Of course you can. But you realise this is isn't $400 don't you?

        • +2

          Of course ;)

  • A lot of the products expire soon. I used to love gifts like this til last year, when I bothered to check the expiry date of the stuff in there (lip balms expiring at end of the month etc)

    • Lipbalms expire?

      • Yes, the oil in lip balms can go rancid.

      • +1

        Burts bees is honey based.

    69 dudes!

    </juvenilehumour>

  • +1

Thanks for the tip off, one of the brands on the list I use is also currently 20% off. yay

    • +1

actually quite a few of the participating brands have 20% off so you can grab a discount on any skincare you need to last you until the next 40% off skincare sale

  • Our biggest gift bag contains the largest range of Skincare and Tanning products valued at over $400. (Bag contains vouchers for Garnier Miracle skin day cream, Physiogel calming relief cream 50ml, your choice of ModelCo cleanser and choice of Innoxa super sensitive cleansing milk, renew gel wash or renew exfoliator).

  • Has anyone been successful using their reward central egift card for this purchase?

  • +2

The $400 figure is probably going by the inflated RRP.

    • or just made up, because they're probably including prices from sample packs that are normally free

      • +1

Dude, that's not what this is, which makes your commentary "just made up" and hypocritical.

        • -1

Are you saying there aren't any sample products in the bag ?

        • +2

@jv: True or not , I'm saying that your comment is made up as you have not ascertained the facts before making it.

        • +1

@tonka: Oh, and no there is not usually samples in these bags. Not the one's I've gotten previously.

        • @jv: JV some people are are not happy with your comments, but please don't stop…
Science Fiction is more believable than some of these offers.

      • -1

"Bag contains vouchers for Garnier Miracle skin day cream, Physiogel calming relief cream 50ml, your choice of ModelCo cleanser and choice of Innoxa super sensitive cleansing milk, renew gel wash or renew exfoliator" - I'd say some of the included $400 value is the "savings" from the vouchers. Also the "cost" of the bag itself.

        • +7

Pretty cool of Innoxa to let you pick the free product you want, usually you only get the vouchers in the bag instead of the actual product when there is a choice of colour tones or skin type.

I got the bag this afternoon, awesome value plus the products I bought to get it were all half price and stuff I needed.
There is I think one sample size product in the bag.

It would easily hit $400 RRP simply because some skincare products are ridiculously expensive.

So buy stuff you were gonna buy anyway and get heaps of stuff free or if you're not into this stuff don't try and pretend you know what you're talking about and go troll elsewhere.

        • The bag probably has a 'RRP' or $100

        • @tonka: I couldn't see any half price eligible items in the catalogue/on the website.

        • +1

Which of the participating brands are half price? Checked the catalogue and most are 20-25%.

        • @Love a bargain:
Some of the Loriel range is on sale for a flat 19.99, the stuff I got was reduced from 35.99 and 39.99. It wasn't their premium stuff like the Lazer and such.

If I though it out more I should have tried to stack using the members offers so
          Half price Loriel
Try and use the voucher from the other post for $15 off
Plus get member points for a voucher at end of month
          plus free gift bag.

        • +1

@tonka: Had a look at the l'Oreal range and was surprised their day cream don't come with any UV protection. (Have a feeling they're at least SPF 15 in the past.)

        • @Love a bargain: Yeah, that's a bit weird for current standard. I got night stuff but will watch out for that cheers.

        • +1

@tonka: I only needed day cream and decided to give them a miss because of this.

    • What do you mean probably? The RRP is a device to manipulate the consumers perception of value. No more, no less.

  • +1

anyone notice the following message at the top? lol
"limited or no stock available for some items Due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologise for the inconvenience"

Do they still honor you with $400 worth of goods?

    • I noticed this message on their website. I think the reason why they say this is because sometimes their online store runs out of stock - but you may be able to still purchase those items in person. You should still get the gift bag provided you meet the minimum spend on the selected brands.

  • +10

TIP: To anyone visiting in store, there are 4 vouchers for free full-sized products in the goody bag, dig them out and redeem them before leaving or you'll have to come back again!

    They are for:
    - Garnier Miracle Skin Cream
    - ModelCo cleanser
    - Physiogel Calming Relief Cream
    - Your choice of Innoxa Foaming Cleanser/Cream Cleanser/Exfoliator

    • You can only use the additional vouchers if you are at a Priceline PHARMACY store… not a normal Priceline store :) (Unless you got those extra stuff from a regular store?)

      • +2

3 of the 4 vouchers specify "Priceline or Priceline Pharmacy".

    • +1

Is there an expiry date on the vouchers to redeem the four full sized items? I'm only asking because I may have to place an order online and don't want to miss out on redeeming these at a later date.

      • Last time they were valid for about a month I think

      • +1

        2/7 and 5/7

      • +1

        Expiry dates:

Garnier Miracle skin cream - 2nd July
        Modelco cleanser - 5th July
        Physiogel - 5th July
        Innoxa cleaners - 5th July

Apparently quite a few stores are out of the Physiogel cream and ModelCo cleanser, hopefully they're restocked soon or voucher expiry extended.

  • The Priceline Checkout system is woeful! Took me ages to try to give it a different Billing address versus Delivery address so I gave up and just used the Delivery address for both to save confusion. I then got through to entering the CCard deets and it threw up an error telling me 'only one transaction was allowed'. I gave up but then received an email telling me the purchase was successful. I've checked my statement and the funds have been extracted so fingers crossed it all works out!

  • +1

Wait 'til the weekend for 15% off full price:

    • Need to present a 'sister club card' but can't see why not?

      • Apparently you can't get a new sister club card at the moment (I got this message yesterday, however it seems to work now - I just checked again).
At any rate it is also possible that you still have to spend $70 to get the bag ($80-10 discount). I don't know for sure.

    • No you would need to spend another $5 for the extra $5 off to OzBargain correctly

  • +4

I had to buy some moisturiser today so ended up buying 2 just to get this. I'm really pleased with the overall contents. I (like any Ozbargainer) don't believe the RRP for a second but worked out I would use almost 90% of the contents and the rest would be great gifts or giveaways. It just seemed like a nice treat for buying something I needed!

    • The funny thing is you don't need to believe it for it to work. Same goes for understanding it's purpose - it still works on you ;)

… unless you have a good reference point for value of the item(s) which you may indeed have.

But no person who consumes at an average level has this about most of the stuff they buy so all of us are open to this manipulation.

      • I agree. It's the kind of deal that can encourage some to spend what they don't have or need, to grab a goodie bag. The reason I was so pleased with it was because I actually needed to buy skin care and just by doubling up on something that will be used up anyway, scored a bonus. I am on a pretty good salary but still love to pick up a bargain that if I don't use, will be able to give away to family and friends.

    • May I ask what you bought? Looking for something to buy to get the bag and give them as gifts :-).

      • +2

I bought 2 x L'oreal Revitalift day moisturisers which came to just under $72. I normally use Olay but at my age I'm not too fussy! There's some nice hand creams, body lotions and lip balms/glosses which would make good gifts.

  • +2

I went and picked one of these up. SO MUCH AWESOME STUFF… felt like Christmas :D :D Love these bags :D.

  • Three of the products I bought were half price and the fourth was about 25% off (I saved about $65 dollars), so I am pretty happy because I would have bought them anyway in about a couple of weeks. I just wonder what happens if the local store doesn't currently have the products for the vouchers in the bag (if they have an expiry date and the store doesn't know when they will have them back in stock)? It should be fine though. I can always go to another store. :)

    • What did you get? I'm looking for the best deal for the freebie, LOL.

      • +1

I got L'Oreal Collagen Day and Night + Revitalift Total Repair (all half price, $19.90 each) + an oil lotion.
The first three are pretty good deals!

      • +2

I got a Dr Lewinn's mothers day set $104 worth of products for originally $49 but I got it for $39 with the 20% off all dr Lewinn products.

  • By the way, I agree that it is better to be quick. It does say "or while stocks last", and this is a pretty good bargain…

    • Only 4 left in a store I visited last night (but it didn't have something that I wanted in stock) and less than 10 in another that I visted this morning (which ran out of another item that I wanted but had to settle with an alternative or risk missing out).

They're both in business areas so I'm not surprised they get more sales during the week.

      • I bought mine online, as people are super quick to grab bargains here and yesterday it was pouring down and I didn't feel like going to the shop just to be disappointed. I just hope they still have the products for the vouchers before the vouchers expire!
The advantage of buying online is also that you have a better view of the products you can buy to get the free bag as they are all marked very clearly on their website.

        • Would have loved to order online if not for the $100 min spend for free delivery (& the coupon that can only be used in-store).

        • I don't have a sister club card, but as it is free I might order one for future bargains…
It is ultimately also a matter of luck. Last time that they had some specials in my local store they all went very quickly, and they were the same products I bought yesterday, so if I had gone to the shop they might have been out of stock. They were 1/2 price, and if I had had to buy something else because those products were out of stock at the end of the day it would have been more expensive than the delivery fee. It is hard to know without going to the shop and checking of course… There is a little bit of risk involved in whatever we do!
However, now that I have seen what's in the bag, if I go past the shop next week I might buy another one… :)

  • To those who got their gift bags already, are the expiry dates this year for most of the products?

  • +2

Hello, I just bought 2 in store, one for my partner and one for my mum. The bags are heavy and chocked full of products. To me, you definitely get your money's worth as they're mainly full sized bottles, only a couple are sample sized. The photo in the title doesn't show the full amount of products. After purchasing them we handed the vouchers over to the store assistant. She walked around and collected them off the shelves for us - which also are full sized bottles and I priced them at around $50-60 in total (from the shelf price). Our priceline had run out of one of the products but the assistant said we can hand the vouchers in later when they get more in.
As for expiry dates, there doesn't seem to be any except manufacture dates on some (late 2014). It's not food here folks, dont reckon they'll expire any time soon.

The product range you need to buy from are 20% off so to spend $70 you get your money's worth. We couldn't possibly use all of them so we're using the excess for family birthday gifts packs. Great brands - L'oreal, Dr Llewyn, Sukin to name a few, and for both sexes too.

$400 value seems a bit far fetched, but it's still a great buy. I'll provide a pic of the contents later if this site will let me.

  • +8

For anyone wondering what's in the bag

    http://s18.postimg.org/7f8vo0c21/unnamed_1.jpg

The vouchers were used on the three products in the bottom right. (store had run out of Physiogel 50 ml sample so voucher to be used later)

    • I didn't receive the dr lewinn and nuxe products in my bag. I received cotton buds instead of make up pads and Palmers aloe vera lotion instead of palmers anti aging.

  • Nuxe definitely has an alternative (I didn't get that too so I checked).

Not sure about Dr Lewinn but it probably has an alternative too (cause I remember there was more than 1 set of alternatives).

Palmers: you can get any one of a number of products in the range (just like a random shade of a particular lip balm would be included)

Swisspers: they are also alternatives. I also got cotton buds and checked it against the list.

  • Are Innoxa and Jergens any good? never used these brands!

  • Anyone seen stock available around Brisbane?

  • Had to check out four stores in Melbourne CBD until I could find one in stock today! Good luck!

  • I got mine today. :) I am happy I bought it online because I was not able go to town until today and now they are sold out both online and in store. I went to the store for the coupons, but they only had 2 products out of 4. They said they should get the missing products before the vouchers expire, so I will ask again.

  • Oh, the bag itself is not bad either as a beach bag for example.

  • I have gone into 3 stores now to try to redeem the vouchers and none of them have any stock. Logan Hyperdome store today said they wouldn't be getting any stock in until next week.

  • According to Customer Service, Sydney is completely out of stock and even their online store is out of stock.
I completely regret making this comment. What a stupid comment (in hindsight).

    • That's ok. You've now learnt :)

  • Melbourne is out of stock

  • WA is out of stock too (also SA according to Customer Service).

  • +1

Just got confirmation from eastgardens Priceline that those vouchers have been extended till end of July!
