iPad Air 32GB Wi-Fi $447 from Officeworks

Not the most recent iPad. Won't be the most recent iPad when the next iPad comes out. Just a good price for a good product.

Possible DJ or HN price match for Amex cashback

Good price, but bear in mind with iOS 9 coming out this iPad won't be able to support split screen multitasking.

    • +1

Yeah cause of a sudden this is important right?

      • +3

I think it was just a friendly reminder that you might not get all the functinons from the update?

        • -3

Yes just like you wont get the all the functions from ios10,11 etc. certainly not worth paying $300 more for imo. if split screen multitasking is important he/they should wait for the 'iPad Pro' to come out

@clarky: I see no harm in trying to remind people that certain function will be missing. He/she's not saying you shouldn't get it, in fact he/she's saying that it's a good price, it's just simple "this function will be missing in future update".

        • @AznMitch: Well if thats the case list all of them. Bear in mind this iPad does not have Touch ID, is slower, does not do multitasking, is heavier, yadda yadda. But i see where you are coming from, just think its pretty well known about the additional features of the latest product, people read the news

@clarky: I think the main difference between what you've listed and what he've mentioned is, iOS 9 just became available as a beta (Was it last week? The week before? Can't really remember but it was fairly recent) whereas what you are talking about, spec differences, were there since the release of iPad Air 2. Well the multitask on iOS 9 was foreseeable in a way with RAM differences and rumours were there as well, that being said I think not many people would know about the OS update details. So I see no harm in mentioning it.

        • @AznMitch: When IOS 9 was announced it was all over the SMH and NEWS.COM.AU front pages and CNN so I'm sure most non-nerd and non-rumour people in society who have iPhones read the article and it mentioned multitasking as a big feature of the new iPads. Actually the FIRST reason in the SMH article was multitasking with a feature on it and mentioning it won't be available for older iPads.

@clarky: Whether someone would've seen that information or not depends on whether they go onto those websites or not. Whether someone would benefit from this detail depends on whether they know about it or not. Given that this information became available very recently, what are the chance of the person knowing about this detail?

If the person knows about it, there is no harm done. If the person doesn't know about it, it benefits the person. Is there any harm done to anyone when he've mentioned this detail about iOS9 and multitasking?

Snarky comments however, do leave bad taste in someone's mouth.

@AznMitch: Snarky to you maybe, I was being direct. No bad taste here! :D

      • this is important right?

        actually, yeah, it is.

Multitasking in iOS 9 is not new (3rd party apps could run in background up to 10 minutes), the difference is - now, it's visual.
