I love how we're always commenting TRENT86 never sleeps, but we're looking for bargains at 5am.

        • If he confirms, he'll send PM to hunt blood together.

  • Hmm Philips or JBL soundbar….probably not much difference at these price points

    • The Jbl Doesn't come with a Sub or have one inbuilt but has good reviews, the Philips comes with a Sub :)

      • No stock of either in local stores so I'll wait for another deal lol

        Dang. JBL out of stock.

JBL in my humble opinion would likely to be better.

Whilst havent used either sound bars, I would assume JBL's high to mid offer a very "defined" tune compared to the Philips that "mumbles". At least this is based my experience when comparing the mainstream that looks good on paper to a more sound quality focused brand. such as pc speaker soundstick iii vs logitech z623, car stereo mb quatz split to pioneer (cnt remember which model, but similar price point), home theatre system sony muteki 7.2 vs a few sonos play stacked together.

In this case, I would rather not have the low freq from an amp, but a defined tone in highs and mids.

          I mean "sub", not amp.

  • the code didn't work on

PHILIPS Sound Bar Speaker with Subwoofer HTL2150 $74

    • For some reason, the codes do not work when I am logged in. Try again after logout. I had to create a new account to use these codes.

      • Thats strange it worked for me on the soundbar but I didnt log in at first. Try not logging in and see what happens. Great find OP!

I have bought the Sony SRS-X3B portable bluetooth, very nicely built and high quality sound and bass. Worth the money!

    • How is it compare with Logitech UE Ultimate Ears Boom?

So ah after my famous and usually wrong 5 second appraisal I noted… 32GB storage, no sdxc. Hope yer not plannin on installin much else if ya buy this :|

    • Does it support the digitiser pen?

      • Yes, I've found the dell active stylus to work better as you don't have to apply as much pressure.

  • Can anyone give some advice as to the Acer Aspire E-5 for $505? Cheers.

  • Hmmm.. DSE EBay says that the Sony SRS-X3B cost $81.39 and not $74…

    • It's the DS website Lone star - not the ebay one.

        Ahh… ok I found it. Thanks cornbeef… :)

  • Is this the best price ever on the srs-x3?

  • No Michael $66 with cash back was the lowest and I managed to pick some up for $69 each delivered. $74 is still an excellent price for the quality of SRS X3 unless you intend to spend up to $300 on the Bose equivalent which is indeed better as far as distortion levels go.

    • +1

Where did you source this please?

    • If sound quality is important you can do of a lot better than a Bose for $300. Heck, you can do a lot better than a Bose at any price point.

      • +1

Yes you can have much better if you want to fork out a lot more money for the luxury of a 3d sound Portable speaker. There is always something better and more expensive on the market. At the end of the day how much are you willing to spend?

        Food for thought:-

Grab the SRS X3 before the end of the month. They are unbeatable in value through Dick Smith atm and a very good speaker. I dare say they will increase a fair bit in price after Dicky finishes screwing the competition and have their target sales numbers in their books.

  • PHILIPS Sound Bar Speaker with Subwoofer HTL2150 brought one click and collect from DS Chadstone Vic

I got the Philips one from about 1/2 year. It's average not great certainly better than standard speakers off TV

The Sony equivalent is better and has NFC Bluetooth can't remember model

  • Bought the Philips should bar. Thanks Trent. Hope they won't cancel my order this time.

  • Cheers OP went for the Sony SRS-X3. Was hoping to collect today but having called up the store and told they can't release the item until payment has been verified - it's looking unlikely to be today.

Anyone know how long they usually take to verify payment?

  • I have the SRS-X3 too. Got it from the DSE deal a while ago for about $68 I think. Really nice heft to the speaker as it indicates that there is a good amount of quality built into it. The sound is also quite good upon testing with various tracks. I'm pretty happy with it.
