Our hoover ate most of our lego when we were kids, It stopped eating them when we fed it salad and milk.
Mum was upset with us but we did learn the meile replacement ate tea-towels whole!

Good pickup tonester. I bought 2 of these about 2 years ago for $75 each. They are a fantastic option for the kids, a great creativity set. Thanks for sharing.

Oh God you just reminded me of the worst part about Lego :D Totes

  • Man I am so tempted to buy this. Too bad I am not 10 years old anymore.

      Not with that attitude.

      they're suitable for ages 4-99 :P

    • Hey if engineers and designers use it you can always claim you just got it to model a reno or something :p

Not your fault if you can also build spaceships and fire engines is it … :D

I remember the days when 1200 pieces used to cost ~$40 12 years ago…

  • not much of a bargain… $10 cheaper than lego's website.

    • +4

This is $40 cheaper than lego's website…..you forgot to add the shipping cost . You can't compare apples to oranges

      • +1

Lego AU shop shows the RRP

$10 isn't much compared to Target and others than do 20% off

the bargain here is the small discount on a new release lego set that has no other AU sellers with local stock

      • You can't compare apples to oranges

        Of course you can…

      probably shoplifters…

  • I don't expect them to have stock on Thursday :-D

  • Had a Lego Castle when I was young, wish I'd kept it. So damn retro now.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Castle#/media/File:Yellow…

    • Had so many of those sets too always seemed to get them at birthday party's but the sad part is I just wasn't into them then. Most probably endedup at Vinnie's

    • MFW castle walls are yellow xd

  • This may be a trivial point for some but the 790 pieces set at Big W appears to come in a plastic container while this set appears to come in a plastic box. Is this correct?

    • These felt more like they were in a cardboard box.

      • I'm meant to write cardboard box…. not able to edit comment.

        • +1

The packaging comprises of the following:

1)The cardboard box that you can see in the picture.

          2) Inside the different coloured blocks are in separate plastic bags which once ripped open will not reseal. So best use Snap Lock bags if you want to keep the different colours separate.

          3) The ideas booklet inside is woeful. You can only construct a few small items. Best use your imagination.

I remember the Lego set I had from 25 years back. You could construct complicated houses, cars, trucks…

          Where did they go?

  • Lego Time!!!

  • Standing on a piece of lego at night is a killer. That said I really need to buy this for the kids for Christmas :). Thanks for sharing tonester.

  • Thank you!!!
    Very good deal!

  • I have held off spending any amount of money for so long that I suddenly need this :)

  • Are they bigger than "normal" Lego blocks?

    • Nope, same size as normal, just lots of different types :)

  • The big W set has half the pieces for $49, so this works out as a better deal. Has anyone seen these large kits cheaper before? Looking towards Christmas.

  • I believe this is a new line, so stores will receive the advert stock for the catalogue commencing on Thursday sometime throughout this weeek

  • Got one from Sunnybank QLD.
