This works for existing customers too. I just bought one, now I have 3 numbers on the one account.

    • steps for adding this to an existing account? thanks!!

      • +1

        Just follow the link.
Click on "Buy Now" - "Select Number" - "Pick a New Number" - "Your Details" on this page there is an option to log in to speed up through this step.
Don't forget to apply the code, then Bpay the $1.00 if you have opted out of auto renew which is a good idea.

        • +1

cool thanks, when through and found it

        • +1

I ordered a $1 data pack on their recent promo a week ago and they sent me the SIM and the service shows up activated even though I did not BPAY the money through (I am definitely not on auto renew). Weird.

Paid the $1 for this one just to be sure.

        • luke73, are you saying i can use my existing number (which is on the 5gb unlim plan) and get the plan for $1, or do you just mean existing accounts can apply for a whole new sim for $1?

    • +2

I can confirm this works for existing customers :)

  • Thanks. Helps me stock up on data :)

  • +2

So tempting but going to grab a boost sim card as much better reception for me this weekend when I go away.
    Great deal though

    • -1

      isnt it all optus network

      • boost is telstra.

  • Note that $10 credit via referral links don't work with the $1 offers. Better off trying cashback sites

    • Problem with cashback site is this condition: "If you use a coupon code that is not listed on the cash bak website, your cashback may not be tracked"

      • yeh i know. And the 90 days restriction too

        • whats 90 days restriction ?

        • @ravian29:

account needs to stay active for 90 days at the rate your plan is initially on

        • @easternculture: means if i paid $19.90 for 7gb plan, i need to pay for 3 months to get $19.90 cashback ?

        • @ravian29:

So $19.90 for 1st month, and next 2 months on the regular rate of the plan which is $54.90

        • @easternculture: my neighbours must have heard noisy hahahahahaha…

    • Seems like it works with referral! Just bought one for a friend and forgot i had clicked on the referral link. Paid 1$ and "Looks like a friend referred you to amaysim - awesome!"…
Can see the $10 on the referral account.

      • It does give you that message but it doesn't actually pay you the referral credit.

Last time they had the free sim offer, my mates bought a few but no referral credit was awarded.

When they spoke to live chat, they were told that it didn't qualify the the $10 credit

        • Ok thanks

        • @ouranos:

Can see the $10 on the referral account.

You get the referral credit added to your account when the referee first uses their SIM card to make a call or sms

Looks like the $10 your seeing is from an older referral

If your seeing the $10 here, https://www.amaysim.com.au/refer-a-friend.html , it doesn't mean a thing. Its just a counter telling you how many people have used your link. Its when it gets validated that counts. Not all the referrals showing on that page get validated.

        • @easternculture:
Noticed this for the first time recently: An apparent $60 maximum referral limit per six months.
"Here are some offers we've sent recently to our amaysim customers:

          • Refer a Friend to get up to $60 credit for the next six months"

        • +1

          @King Tightarse:

I wouldn't be surprised as with their go ahead with the IPO at below value (they were expecting valuation to be higher) and trading on the stock market to start 15/7/15, there will be changes to keep investors happy and profits maximized

        • @easternculture:

Received and activated mine today. On the homepage, in Add-ons it says

          Remaining credit $15.00
          Days left 90
          Expires 23 Sep 2015

The referral account has now $20 credit on the same page, so I guess it works? Why is it $15 though…

  • Do these sim cards auto-activate?

  • auto renew? no thanks

    • +3

Once you set up your account with Amaysim you can go into the Payment Method section & change it to Bpay, problem solved.

  • Thank you mate, can I buy 2 sim cards for next 2 months

  • I get internal server error
    Oops - 500 Internal Error

  • so sorry the Optus reception in Macquarie University is very poor. Sometimes you get no signal at all (e.g., open space car park)….. No point even it gives me 10GB/month.

  • Thanks! My $1 for 1 GB data from Amaysim is almost used up!

    • This is for "New customers" only, silly.

      • Incorrect, I am an existing customer & just bought one.

        • +1

good stuff, just interested to know how you are going to use this? on another phone?

        • Yes, I have a second phone for deals like this that I use for tethering etc.

        • I use it on a mobile hotspot. Specifically, the one I got from Optus (Huawei) for $20 a while ago with included 3GB.

  • Anyone else getting the internal server error?
Maybe it's 'cause I already have one of their SIM cards?
If so, do you have to register with a new phone number or with a different credit card, or a different email?

    EDIT
I registered with a new mobile number and new email address and it worked..
    not sure which is required.

I ordered amaysim sim card with standard delivery. By the time I received it, I left 10 days to use the unlimited call and 5gb data. I called the support team prior receiving the sim, they said I can re-activate the sim once I receive it (by changing the remaining days to default). Now i have my sim with me, called the support team, they offered me half-a-mth credit ($22) to use for next month in stead of changing back to default for remaining days. I personally would prefer the first option-changing to default remaining days, however it is not possible during second call to them. Has anyone here experience similar circumstances?

    • I thought you're supposed to activate it after you receive it.
I got a free one a few weeks ago and haven't activated yet.. Will do so this Friday (porting from Telstra prepay), and see what happens.

      • If you have the same day/next day delivery then you get to activate it yourself when you're ready, otherwise they screw you.

        • Totally agree. It is the standard delivery that screws me big time.

        • @broot: People within existing accounts can't pick the delivery method when buying new sims right? Like the default is standard delivery. Quite annoying, I'll have to pass on this deal.

        • @broot: that's one thing i hate about this unscrupulous practice by amaysim, other than this they're cheap

        • Wouldn't it make sense to have it the other way round?

          Same day -> already activated

  • +1

Thank you. I just logged into my normal account and added a new sim, everything went fine. Too bad Amaysim activate the card before they send it out to me, last time I lost 5 days on my month because of this.

This month alone Amaysim have already given me 1GB for $1 deal and Telstra sent me 1GB for $0 on a 6 month old card I never use. What is going on?

  • Awesome stuff. Just in time for when I need to housesit a place without internet. Just enough for streaming Netflix for a few days.

  • OMG what an awesome deal, thanks heaps!!!

  • why they send these sim card already activated ?

  • I added one more SIM with my account and tried to use pricepal. I know it won't be tracked but i just tried. I'll update here in case i get any response from them.

    • how do you add a sim to your account?

      • +1

You go to deal page, then it'll ask to create account or login via existing account. So login to your account and it'll add new sim to that account

    • tried that last promo and it didn't track

  • is it only me who did not even pay $1 ? site did not ask me for payment and my order has been submitted

edit: got it, i need to pay by BPAY

    • +2

Looks like your an existing user and added a new number to your account.

in that case, yes, you need to Bpay it

      • So if after 1 month of usage, if they revert back to $44.90 per month, will they just also ask me beforehand to BPAY them? not automatic i guess? I thought of trying out for 1 month and that's about it for now.

        Still on a contract ……grr…

  • So are these preactivated or something?

    • +1

Some are, some are not. Its just a pure luck game

      • Thanks. Got one anyway.Got a decent number too :D

      • If you port your number, you have to activate yourself. If you request a new number it comes preactivated with the new number.

        • not always. i have one (new number) that isn't activated yet . When i log into my account, it asks me to activate it

        • @easternculture: Interesting.Just activated the last one i got (from the May promo) - that was a next day delivery .had to activated. They also gave me $5 mid month as i hadnt activated at that point :D

      • +1

It's not a luck game people.

If you bought a SIM online just follow the steps below, you'll just need to know which delivery service you selected. Don't forget if you are bringing your number to amaysim you'll also need to start the number transfer in My amaysim.

3 Hour or Next Day Delivery:
Go to My amaysim and enter your SIM number (ICCID) to complete your activation

        Standard delivery:
Just pop out the amaysim SIM card and put it into your mobile, tablet or laptop.

          Standard delivery:
Just pop out the amaysim SIM card and put it into your mobile, tablet or laptop.

As i said, the one I got was Standard delivery and was NOT activated.

I also had a $1 for 1GB sim that was standard delivery and was NOT activated.

  • Good timing. I'm changing ISP this week, might need it during downtime.

  • Thanks OP!

  • why always keep error

  • Great. Grabbed one. Thanks!

Hi all, has anyone tried this overseas. They do have details online https://www.amaysim.com.au/help-support/international-roamin… but just want to see how it went. Would save heaps of money if it did work.

Damn, just double checked, I believe "Additional credit" is required
Data roaming per 23.667c per 10KB, ouch, thats $23.67 a mg!!

    • +1

It's always cheaper to go out and buy a local sim card

  • I wonder How Amaysim stays in Business? They've been doing these kinds of deals every month.

    • +2

      better than you think

Advisers lock in fees for Amaysim float

Amaysim shares have been priced at $1.80 each, or 15.9 times forecast fiscal year 2016 earnings, implying a market capitalisation of $320m on listing.

The broker firm offer for the IPO will open on July 1 and close on July 9, with shares expected to trade on the ASX on July 15.

  • Does the 1 month start from the day you register? or from you receive the sim and have it activated? (don't see option to activate)

    • +1

Some are preactivated, some are not. Its just a pure luck game

      • mate its not a game, i discussed this via chat and they made me refund on pro rata basis i have got 7.12 as a balance in my sim for days which i did not get the sim and it was activated on day i bought

  • I apparently forgot to put in the promo code,i guess it is going to charge in full? and the credit card transaction was declined from my credit card because i had put only $20 in that spare card. So any idea how to sort it out?

    • live chat

      • Doing that now !

      • Closed that account and created new one with the code! Awesome

    • I would phone them.
Maybe an existing customer might have more helpful info.
Definitely showed I was going to be charged $44.90 immediately until I put in the code.
nvm, shows you need to check when coming back while cooking dinner.

  • Any way to use this if I want to port my existing Amaysim number?

    • yes, on the first screen @ checkout, you can choose to port your number or get a new number

      • Thanks. It won't let me port a number that already exists with Amaysim if that makes sense?

Am I the only one that thinks this company is scum? I did one of these deals for my wife. Transferred from Vodafone to Amaysim, in just days she had chewed up 3gb. She changed no habits. When I checked the usage they were deducting data by the globs of due to rounding by the MB. I had to add a couple GB nulling out any savings. I've quickly switched back to a vodafone month to month 3GB for $35 with unlimited calls worldwide.

I don't recommend touching a "deal" from them. You'll get screwed quickly.

    • +1

I thought they did KB billing…

      • Seems like if you're on 3G it's MB rounding. That's some heavy BS. a couple minutes on facebook and you get slammed 300MB

        • From here (page 7):

Increments (Data) 3G only customers* 1 MB
Increments (Data) 4G customers* 1 Kilobyte

*Applies to data usage in Australia. Charges for data roaming can differ. 3G only customers
refers to existing customers only and customers who continue to renew on the amaysim
Unlimited Product. 4G customers applies to all new customers and existing customers who
          switch to a 4G service.

Looks like if you sign up on the newer plans (as a new customer) you get per KB billing, and the old plans are done by the MB.

        • @brezzo: the per MB charging was a killer previously :/

    • It is fantastic, I am a heavy user, it is almost a month and I still have more than 3GB left.
We have 4 Amaysim sims in the family, all heavy users and no complains.

Not sure what was wrong with your wife's phone.

      • I've come to the conclusion that its a 3G related thing. She's using an american iPhone (verizon) that won't latch on to 4G on amaysim but does on Voda.

        Either way, doesn't excuse Amaysim.

That said, for 1$ i decided to take them up. I'll stream the hell out of these 5GB on a different phone. Just got one, changed payment BPAY immediately.

    • Am I the only one that thinks this company is scum?

Nope. That's basically what I expect every provider to be other than Telstra although Voda and Optus won't screw you as bad as all some of the MVNOs (I guess Boost hasn't really screwed me … yet :|

    • i dont know if you are better off or me. I have 5 GB to use, but i can't use it on the way to work and going back home as the connection drops off all the time. WHich is the time i need internet the most -_-

  • Is this one per house hold?

  • wow, still in the free sim card in last deal. Although don't want to buy it now, leave to others and vote it

  • Isn't there a way to recharge Amaysim through Coles that gets you 7GB unlimited talk/txt for $27.90 (1x 17.90 coupon and another $10 credit).

Don't know for sure, haven't done it, but that was my understanding and I was about to bail from Telstra to try it out at that price.

    • Hi Diji1,

I haven't read this deal, do you know any more about how to do it? Sounds like great value…

      • Expired sorry for getting your hopes up …
