Hi Everyone,

I have found I believe pretty good deal from Royal Brunei. Checked also prices on popular flights price comparison and were not able to find any better price for that destination.

From Borneo it is pretty easy and cheap to get to Indonesia, Thailand or Phillipines.

09 April – 18 June 2016, 25 July – 10 December 2015
18 January – 18 March 2016, 7 April – 16 June 2016, 25 July – 13 December 2016

  • try to give example dates.

    edit: thanks

  • wow, pretty cheap, plenty of availability as well, prices lowering in early/mid July 2015, with the mentioned prices of $657 widely available from early August.

  • This post is a bit confusing. RB fly Melbourne, Australia - Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei (their hub) daily, from there you can connect to other RB services throughout SE Asia, Dubai and London.

Borneo is an large island shared between Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. There are at least 18 commercial airports operating on it, so talking about flying from it is a bit non-specific. Kota Kinabalu is a city about 50 minutes flight up the cost from Bandar Seri Begawan, but if you were flying RB, you wouldn't go through Kota Kinabalu, you'd connect through Bandar Seri Begawan.

Prices to get from Melbourne - SE Asia on RB seem to sit pretty consistently around the $650 - $700 mark all year round. Their daily service from Melbourne is on a 787 Dreamliner, they use smaller A320s to connect from Brunei to the rest of SE Asia. The price is excellent for a full service (albeit dry) airline.

    • RBA fly to into Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei capital). Flights to KK on Air Asia are only 15-20 minutes and very cheap, although they are booked out quickly by locals. About half way through the flight the crew will give you water and that's all there is time for - it's that quick. Not much to do in KK itself apart from climb Mount Kinabalu, see the orangutans or diving.

  • Glad you like it!

Service is fantastic. When their price from Melbourne to Bangkok is $695 it is a bargain. You include all luggage and meals, including, roasted nuts and drink before choice of beef or chicken and then icecream, lots of juice or water. Tea and coffee also offered.
More space, good AV and great views from the Dreamliner 787. Better than Jetstar. Narrower seats, and reckon by the time you add in all the extras, Royal Brunei offers better quality.
