Dan Murphy's Members XXXX Gold 3.2l Tap King Bottle $13.90 or 2 for $23.90 + More Deals

560

Just got an email from Dans with the deal in the title. They also have deals on all other Tap King bottles in the range, with further discounts when buying 2.

Example:
150 Lashes = $22.90 per bottle or $39.90 for 2
Tooheys New = $16.90 per bottle or $29.40 for 2.
James Boags = $20.90 per bottle or $39.40 for 2

The email I had said you have to be signed into your My Dan Murphys account for click and collect/delivery. However these deals also MAY be available in store with your card. perhaps someone could confirm?

The URL shows regular price, but if you add to cart the discount is applied (Must be signed in to your dans account though)

        • +3

I used XXXX as an example as it seemed to have the best discount, but there are other nice brands on sale. 150 Lashes for one.

          @gladbear:
i could have 150 lashes for free if i asked the wife nicely

        • -1

@gladbear: can get 24 case of 150 lashes for $45 at bws with woolies voucher

        • +6

@tuzii: Nothing is free when you have a wife.

        • -1

@tuzii: I'd get the 150 lashes for not asking nicely!

$6.23/L in this deal for Chancer.
      $6.28/L for a $52 case @ 1st Choice.

      Do your homework mate.

Or $10 for a six pack from My Dan Murphys for $4.83/L.

        • +1

Haha, for sure. Was just making a point that whilst tap king is usually more expensive than a case, this deal makes it a better buy for once.

        • -7

@cymon: umm no it doesnt - $45 at woolies for 24 / $10 per 6 pack if you ask nicely and have membership card at dans….homework was done while you were still at school champ!

    • +1

24 cans for $40 comes to 225mL/$1, while the double pack here is 267.8mL/$1.

      Don't forget Cashrewards!

Maybe you are comparing apples and oranges, maybe you are using a potato as a calculator… The james squire 3.2L bottles equate to $6.2 /L. The woollies deal comes to $5.43 /L. If you get from Dans at $10 per 6 pack, it is $4.87/L

        • +2

Comparing draft beer to bottled beer could be construed as comparing apples to oranges too.

        • -1

@gladbear: pretty sure its the same beer mate, just that the TK is dispensed by gas rather than gravity

        • +1

I'm comparing 2 XXXX TK bottles ($23.9, 6.4L) to the current standard price 24 pack of XXXX cans ($40, 9L)

        • +1

@Fobsessive: all good champ… Though i reckon youd be mad to pay $40 for XXXX!

  • +3

keep in mind, you can buy c02 canisters and modify the tap king attachment and fill the empty bottles with your own home brew!

    cheap way to kegged beer

    • Too much work, just use long necks and bulk prime.

      • +3

Too much work, just use corny kegs and force carb with co2 canister

      • i have a keezer and 10 kegs on tap. so i dont care for it.

but you can easily modify the tap king setup and get 2 litre home brew bottles 'on tap' VERY cheap compared to what it costs for a my keg on legs 6kg bottle and cornys and fridge/freezer and thermostat etc etc etc

  • You need to buy a dispenser which is around 33 dollars…

    hrm…

    looks like fun tho

    • +2

they have free dispenser offers every now and then

    • +10

Most ozbargainers would have got a free one at some point in time. I've never used mine!

  • How do these tap king bottles count towards your shipsmart deliveries? I pay $80 a month for unlimited dan Murphy's deliveries to rural Australia but I only get 10 cartons of beer delivered for that price.

  • Do these things keep fresh? Let's say I drink one beer with dinner will it taste the same after a week?

    • +9

Like you are only going to have one.

    • Yes it will be the same after a week. BUT keep in mind that these have a limited time compared to bottled or canned beer. About 2 months for the Tap King. Check the use by on the label.

    • +3

I've had one of mine sitting in the fridge for 1.5-2 weeks at the longest, and I didn't notice much change in flavour, it is quite well sealed from what i could see.

  • +1

thanks Gladbear for the post, bought some!

  • I'm logged in with my My Dan Murphy's account and still can't seem to get these prices to show up. Anyone else having trouble?

    • +1

Add them to your cart first mate and then they should take off the discount before checking out.

    • +1

Thought I had the same problem but then realised having a login for Dan Murphy's isn't the same as being a "My Dan Murphy's Member". Easy to become a member and then discount applies.

    • I had the same problem on my phone, gave me a $2 discount. I was out shopping and wanted to utilise click and collect and get it. I've gone on the computer at work and seems to work now. I'll be ordering mine now. Thanks OP.

Keep in mind the deal posted today for free shipping too "DMWEL0614"

  • Cheaper at BWS for me with the woolies meat coupon.

  • I got the same email and it says $27.90 for 2 Tooheys Extra Dry but when I check the price it comes out as $35.80 (which only has $2.20 taken off for the promotional discount).

Yes I am logged in and I checked the 150 lashes and that comes out to the correct price of $39.90 for 2 (-$10.09 promotional discount).

If they fix up the price I might buy 2 of the Tooheys Extra Dry bottles. I've been waiting for a decent discount to get some use out of my freebie tap king dispenser

    • Update: I called Dans and they said that the price in the email was an error but they would honor the email price. Picked them up today will have to wait until tomorrow to try one out when it's cool enough.

As a bonus they had more Hop Thief available so I bought 3 x 6 packs for $10 each.

  • +1

It is pricey, but for whatever reason the Chancers Golden ale does seem taste better out out of a tap king.

    • I'd agree, golden ale especially and boags are nice, haven't tried the others. A better selection would be nice. Put Hop Thief in the mix and i'd actually buy the stuff regularly.

  • Thanks op!

Great post, I've been eyeing out for specials for a while and have seen nothing except a free tapking dispenser when you purchase a case.

Glad to know ozbargains are putting in more effort where specials apply to members of the store yaiy…

    In for 2 cases!

  • Cheers OP ;)
