and great products - love orange power :)

    • Good product. It helps remove coffee/tea/sweat/dirt stains on my clothes easily. And its ingredients are eco-friendly and plant-based so no need to worry about skin irritation. You can use the rinse to water your plants/trees too!

(Approved by me - a greenie here)

Please only get these seeds if you're actually going to plant them!

    • +4

      or eat them…

      • You're lucky if you get a peppercorn which, when ground, is enough for one meal.

    • +1

can't say yes to this enough!

If you don't have somewhere to plant your own tree you can join a group planting trees for a couple of hours in a public space or school nearby. Search at http://treeday.planetark.org/find-a-site/search.cfm

    • Your local community gardens are good places to plant your seeds/trees as well.

  • Any knowledge as to which species are represented?

    • +2

Have a look at seedsticks.com.au to see the full range. It seems to include everything from ground covers to small trees.

No we don't know which species we'll get.

      • thanks for the info. a lot of callistemons by the looks of it. recommend you don't water with greywater.

        • +2

Thanks, I only use greywater for watering grass or big plants/trees. I use eco-friendly and plant-based detergent so it's kinda safe to use for watering my garden. For seeds and seedlings I just use tap water. They're delicate and need much care!

  • Be aware they use unsecured page to collect your info.

  • I got tomato and basil last time. All of the tomatoes grew but only one of the basil sticks sprouted.

Not getting any this time around. I am not interested in flowers or natives.

    • +1

It does say in T&C that herb are included in selection.
I am only interested in edible plants too.

      • The seeds are randomly selected for you so you don't know what type of plants you will receive.

        However, it's fun to participate.

    • You may have received a bad pack of basil seeds. Or it might be bad weather that basil seeds couldn't sprout. (I guess the weather at that time was too cold for basil since your tomato seeds sprouted normally.)

The seeds are randomly selected for you. Why not try again? You may receive something you want.

      It's fun to participate anyway.

      • I totally agree that it is fun but I have already been converted to a recreational farmer. I will leave the seeds for someone else who may be tempted by the green side.

Seeds are pretty cheap to buy. And if I get the natives or flowers I know they will just go into storage until they expire so it would be a bit of a waste if I get them.

Do these have to start off in a pot or straight into the garden bed is fine?

    • +1

From experience, best to start straight into the garden bed.

    • I usually start from small pots then when seedlings are strong enough I move them to bigger pots or into the garden bed.
Just make sure you read the instructions carefully before planting.

What a coincidence! I was just wishing to plant new trees and that people should be given free seeds. One tree per house is a must.

    • Glad to hear that! However, you may have to wait up to 2 weeks for the seeds to arrive at your address.
      Happy planting then!

    Thanks. Good find.

  • got mine yesterday - basil. (not really a tree, but my current basil is looking pretty average)

    • What kind of basil is yours? Thai, lemon or else?
Wait the pic you posted is NSFW!

      • regular basil.

        • I got green basil seeds too.

Site says its OVERSUBSCRIBED therefore this deal may be expired??

    • +1

Unfortunately we have had a huge response to our free seed offer and are currently oversubscribed. If you don’t receive a pack in the next few weeks you have missed out this time. We will try to send an email to all those that applied but weren’t successful thanking you all for your support.

      Thanks for the heads-up!

      • No worries, was going to grab a packet for the holiday 25 acres - too late!
