C20EXTRA

Original C20EXTRA coupon post

First post though I have seen a lot of Futu Online deals up and saw the d7000 going for $280 but was looking for something sub $200.

Found the ASUS RT-AC68u for $196 after discount code.
Cheapest price on static ice is $209 at ARC Computers.
Lowest price from previous posts on Ozbargain were $200.

Also thanks to LHSolutions for posting current ASUS Router promotion to receive a $25 Boost Juice Gift Card.

  • Got it from ARC for $206 couple of weeks ago.
Yes, sub-$200 is a good price for this router.

  • It's been cheaper at $188.10 although not a separate post.

  • Any bargain for modem under $100?

  • After being bitten with the 66U I will never trust an Asus modem again without it being on the market for a solid 12 months. My 66 needs its firmware flashed every time we lose power.

    • +1

Your router is clearly faulty. Isn't that what warranty is for?

My 66U is rock solid. BTW, this firmware is much better than stock: http://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/

      • Thanks I will look into it but unfortunately this began about 2 years after purchase, now something like 3.5, and I don't have the receipt.

  • Router - no adsl inbuild

  • Great router and runs DD-WRT or Tomato-USB really well. Perfect for bypassing meta-data retention with Open-VPN and a VPN service. Dallas Buyers Club and bite my VPN.

  • Amazing router, solid as a rock and just does everything straight out the box. Current firmware breaks DLNA via attached storage though. So grab the update prior.

  • Had this router for about a year now. Thinking back it was a epic deal from computer alliance. $255 free delivery and a $75 cash back.

Definitely the best buy in my gadgets…made me realise router is probably the most important thing to get your whole house connected.

Like to mention if you do torrent for whatever reasons you may have this has a dedicated torrent downloader as well as Usenet. Do you can probably save money on electricity by not using your computer the whole night.

Worth a try by filling in the form :)

  • Great price. Picked one up last time eBay ran the 20% promo. Made a massive difference to my network, plus plenty of powerful features for powerusers

  • I wish they did a deal on the DSL-AC68U!

  • Good router- also recommend Merlin firmware.

  • asus rt-ac68u or unifi uap pro for around $250 delivered? mainly for wireless connectivity i have lan ports almost every room including alfresco.

    • Depends on the area you want covered, what features you want/need and how many devices will be connected to wifi at once.

The RT-AC68U 802.11ac which is up to 1300 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 600 Mbps on 2.4GHz (only with certain adaptors otherwise it's 450Mbps) , the UAP-PRO is 802.11n (300 Mbps, 2x2 MIMO for the 5 GHz band and up to 450 Mbps, 3x3 MIMO for the 2.4 GHz band.)

One of the nicer things about Ubiquiti APs are that they do zero-handoff roaming between APs - for example if you are on a VoIP call and your wifi-connected phone roams to a different AP you don't lose the call while the phone re-associates with the next AP.

      • thanks!

bought the unifi uap pro.. i don't have an AC device at the moment anyway.

i will pair it with EdgeRouter Lite and HP 1410G switch

        • Nice - I'll probably go that way myself eventually :)

  • Without running a different firmware will this router list URLs being accessed?
Can it block sites based on URL or keyword?

  • Fantastic modem. Very happy with the extra range and signal strength.

At this price, buy it now. Now! NOW!
