Canon 70D Single Lens Kit (18-55mm) $959 @ The Good Guys eBay Store

110
C20EXTRA

Absolutely the cheapest price even against grey import. I ordered one yesterday and TGG called today and told me they are out-of-stock. However my order will be fulfilled when they get their next batch from the manufacturer.

So lock in the price now, for only few hours left.

  • I have been thinkng about getting this all weekend. How much of a step up is this from 1100d? I take most of my photos with a tripod during golden hours with 100 ISO, mostly landscapes and architecture. I have the tamron 17-50 and canon 10-18.

  • tempting…

I have this model for almost 9 months and I am very happy with it.

    Highly recommended!

  • I'm on the same boat ordered first day of the sale and was told out of stock :( they will come through but it will take time.

Now which good lenses to buy, max budget $600-700 ?

      • Got that already, one of my favourite, looking to expand now :)

          35mm and 85mm. Canon 85mm f/1.8 is highly recommended.

what are you looking to shot? it will be easier to recommend

        • @msmhw: Portraits of the kids mainly, prefer not prime though would rather zoom with good aperture say f2.8 so i'm willing to pay extra, I've got the Tamron17-50mm f2.8 and it's been great for the price (~300) so I'm wondering what would 600-700 get me, thanks for the answers.

@Super8Tab: if you have the 50mm, its one of the best for portraits.
but there is canon 24-105mm f/4L (~$700) one of my favourite lens for general uses.
and 24mm (~$200) is lovely for playing kids and video mode

also as cheapo999 said 85mm is great lens

          @Super8Tab:
Based on that usage I'd consider the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 (USM & IS) or the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8.

I have the canon 17-55mm and love it, but you might prefer the f1.8 to an f2.8 with IS for photographing kids which move around a lot.

Anyone wanting to buy this camera should be aware that there is a focus issue at large aperture that Canon refuse to acknowledge let alone fix.

In some situations you can get around this by using live view but that's not always practical as live view is much slower to focus. For me this was a deal breaker.

    • I don't have problem with my copy bought March this year (Oz stock) and used mainly with my Sigma art lens 1.4. Reading the comments on the forums, it seems to me, this is more of a QC problem. If you have an issue like this, you should return it to Canon for repair, or ask for refund.

      • People have had no luck returning to Canon. Canon simply says it's within spec and returns it. The guy in the video below seems a little ridiculous and isn't a great communicator but his experience is something I've read repeated on several boards. If Canon won't acknowledge the problem, they certainly won't fix it under warranty. This guy's solution was to buy a 6d which he says he's happier with.

  • I posted this deal in the original C20EXTRA deal 4 days ago.
But it is still worth its own thread.
