Best out of them would be the Toshiba Satellite C50-B027 $449.00 with the i3-4005U .
The other cheaper ones all use slow Atom (Baytrail) or AMD CPUs.
Next would either be the Toshiba Sat. L50 "L50-B09K" $699.00 with i5-4210U and 8GB RAM or the HP Envy X2 13.3" Touchscreen Convertible Laptop $749.00 with Core M 5Y10 and 128GB SSD.

I was able to grab a mildly scratched up Pendo 10" for $25 at the Keswick store - tho I ended up with 2 usb cables rather than one of them being the one fitting the charger port :-/. It'll do fine for what I wanted - an easily edited WPS slide show on a 24" 16 x 10 at a local center with a side load of Here maps for showing directions.:-).
Keswick seems to be the "go-to" for this sort of stuff in Adelaide - I've just missed out on a Tab2 7" for $50 once. The table gets cleared away before the Christmas sales, but is probably back for the next 6 months again.
A lot of the times with Officeworks these are just store only specials, display stock they want to get rid of because a new line of laptops have to be merchandised into the small display area soon or some can even be second hand returned stock which has been sitting out the back in their laptop cage for many months after the customer has gotten a refund for the item or its been sent back to Officeworks from a RMA request after a refund.
Correct, usually the last one or the floor model. They should discount a lot more than they generally do for a floor model, IMHO.
Almost every single notebook there was on clearance, only a few didn't have the tag. Not sure if this sale is different because of EOFY.

There won't be any more new Sony Vaio models. There will be new Vaio models though. :)
