  • For those interested in getting the Animal price matched from masters @ $499 they at least have stock available online and in store for click and collect. Could be good if have issues with the availability from JB to price match at HN for the Amex Credit.

  • Anyone know how this compares to the DC44 ?

    • I've had the 35, then the 44, got the 59 and now the V6.

There is no comparison, the power and floortool of the V6 sh1ts all over the 44/35.

I am not sure I can agree with you, I owned both a DC45 and DC59. On normal suction (not max), they performed very similar on medium pile carpet (despite all the hype of the newer model V6/DC59). However, on the max mode (limits the DC45 runtime to 8 mins, verses DC59 to 6 mins) the DC59 did give a little more suction. But as this mode isn't what the normal consumer uses, I would strongly be inclined to say that for normal use both vacuums have very similar performance. Two main problems I had with the DC59 was that it also ran for a shorter time than the DC45 (17 mins vs 20 mins) and its filter kept on falling out.

        • I've never owned the 45 and cannot comment. djevoultion was asking about the 44.

      • 59 and V6 the same?

        • Mostly yes. Except the 'V6 motorhead''s much more powerful motorhead does not work with both the regular V6 and V6 animal (which are clones of the DC59). Personally, I would wait for the 'V6 motorhead' vacuum to go down on price.

  • Can anyone post a JB Hifi latest catalogue that has this deal in it in pdf format?

  • just got one from HN for $399 and paid with Amex so should come down to $349

they price matched no dramas but I did wait till right at the very end to mention the price match just in case they tried to stooge me and say that it's "out of stock"

    thanks OP and vash12

    • Hi, I purchased it from Good Guys two weeks ago, if you can share upload your docket/receipt from HN (with your personal detail removed) for me to claim price guarantee, it would be really helpful!

      • sure can, Here you go mate =]

        http://imgur.com/yeGZ8Ug

        goodluck

        • Thanks mate!

        • your address is on the docket!

        • @mingwait:

lol shit, i blurred address down the bottom but not up top
          cheers

        • +1

@hockysa: I received a refund from GG, so u can remove the picture.

        • @mingwait:

          awesome

could you possibly do me a favour and send me a photo of your original receipt?

I ended up buying the V6 animal and am wondering if I could possibly return it for more at good guys

        • @hockysa: here you go: https://goo.gl/photos/6pZL4tdzfsquu1Ju7

another trick is to go when they are about to close, so they are more motivated to go home than to make it difficult for you

        • @mingwait: tax adjustment notice?
          is this an invoice?

          i do not understand it

  • Can someone show me the link or a pic to the mini motorhead you guys bought from Harvey Norman because the only mini motorhead I found from Harvey Norman online store is different from the one someone else posted earlier.

The one posted above was this >>> http://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/mini-motorhead-962748-0…

but from Harvey norman website I can only find this >>> http://www.harveynorman.com.au/dyson-mini-tangle-free-turbin…

    • +1

The one from Dyson is the one that is included with the Dyson vacuum (it is motor driven like the floor tool). Whereas the mini tangle free turbine tool is AIR driven and depends on the suction of the machine.

      • Humm…. so which was the motorhead that the other guys have bought from Harvey?

        • I think someone might have mistaken the mini tangle free turbine tool as motor driven, hence they called it the 'motorhead'. In short, HN does not sell the motorhead separately. But Dyson does.

        • @TScott:

          Ahh ok thanks for clarifying

  • Just picked one up at my local H.N no problem with price match and received my Amex email within 5 minutes.

  • I called HN Moore Park and they quoted $399 as their list/sale price. On arrival, agent stated $540, but then did price match JB at $399.

I took 4 year extra store new for old replacement for $50, which I'll offset by the Amex rebate. Finally, we looked at tangle free head and it specifically says it does not work on cordless models. For other, it may be worth checking it works before you buy?

Confirmed with Dyson the better motorhead is not compatible with v6 or v6 animal.

Tested it today. Vacuumed with my old corded cheap cyclonic vac yesterday, and v6 today. Amazed just how much more dirt and fluff it pulled up! Very impressed!

    • I was amazed how much fluff it filled up from my 2 x 3m rug. 1 had to empty the canister as it was full. And this is the same rug that gets vacuumed on a regular basis using a dyson DC39.

One thing however i noticed and i am not sure if i just haven't worked out on how to use it yet, is that i have to keep the red button pressed at all times. It's not like an on/off button. You keep your finger on it for it to work.

      • Thats correct.

        Good battery saving design….(perhaps)

        • According to the Dyson website, you're right

  • Thanks OP! Great for helping to clean under the bub's high-chair. Ordered (sadly, pick-up isn't available any more, but the free delivery will still work!)

I was lucky on this one, I bought the DC58 for $328 through eBay 20% promo. Only had a chance to collect today, I asked if I could upgrade to the next model up if they price matched JBHifi advertised price. At first they didn't want to do it, but since JBHifi was just next door it is a risk for them to lose the sale.

Long story short with the DC58 credit of $328 I only paid another $71 for the upgrade, but with $64 Paypal discount I already enjoyed net price to me is $333.

  • No joy doing price match at HN Loganholme. Denied it

    • What? How come? Try another store?

      • Sales rep showed me a HN purchase price of $427 in their computer and argued that they would be in loss of $28 doing price match. Will try other stores.

        • Also try David Jones, I have price matched there with no issues (i.e. never have they said "we can't do it because its below our 'cost' price").

        • Their "on screen purchase price" is just a sales tactic. JB quite often use this technique too.
Even so, there's nothing in the PriceMatchGuarantee regarding not selling below cost.

Just went to Myer Adelaide, the sale girl refused to price match as it is below their cost price. Unbelievable.

I see Harvey Norman have now removed the Dyson V6 from their online store, and are claiming they have no stock. Dodgy.

Dyson V6 Animal Handstick Vacuum Cleaner @ Harvey Norman now $499 + "BONUS WINE WHEN YOU SPEND $399 OR MORE*"

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/vacuum-laundry-appliances/vac…

"Spend $399 or more on selected products labeled with "BONUS WINE" in one transaction and receive a bonus 12 bottles of wine. PLUS an additional 6 Bottles of Sacred Tree "Limited Release" McLaren Vale Shiraz when you spend $1500 or more in one transaction."

  • Why Wine ??? How about Hamburgers :)

  • I purchased it from Good Guys two weeks ago, if you happen to buy it from JB Hi-Fi/harvey norman for $399 and don't mind sharing your docket/receipt (with your personal details removed) for me to claim price guarantee, it would be really helpful!

    • Thank you to the two people who gave me a copy of their receipt/docket.

After overcoming every single barriers GG put up for claiming price guarantee, GG finally honored their price guarantee they promised and widely advertised! I got a refund of $240 from GG, which is 120% of the difference. I uploaded a copy of my invoice in case anyone is encountering the same issue (https://goo.gl/photos/QvanVddjSvj3ZXQEA). The invoice actually says "price match JB Hi-Fi".

Price matched today at DJs. No issue.

    • Same. Price matched at DJ Melbourne CBD. Got another 10% off through API lifestyle rewards. Paid $360 in the end.

This thing definitely doesn't suck as hard as my Miele corded vacuum. However the form factor is very good - I can see us using it without hesitation because it is quite light and no cord to stuff around with.

  • Can V6 Handstick replace a regular full use vacuum cleaner in a 2 or 3 bedroom house? My vacuum cleaner got damaged just last week and I am looking for buying a new one. However, I don't want to buy two - one for quick use and one for regular heavy duty use. I would prefer to buy one which can do both of these jobs. So, I was wondering if V6 Handstick is the one I am looking for! Existing users can give opinions please.

Carpets or floorboards? And how fastidious are you?

IMO, 3 bedroom carpeted house, I'd say the stick won't cut the mustard. You'd want to use it on 'turbo' to clean carpets and in this mode it only lasts for 10 minutes, which is unlikely to be enough for 3 bedrooms.

With floorboards you'd get away using the regular mode, which lasts for 20 minutes and should be sufficient to vacuum a 3br house.

      • Thanks a lot, Apey. My place has two medium-sized rooms with carpet and one small room with tiles. I just bought V6 standard a few hours back though. I tried cleaning carpets with regular mode (not turbo) and it works just fine for my not-so-furry carpets. Also, my above doubt was more about the capacity or robustness of the machine rather than the battery life at one go. The issue with battery life isn't too concerning since we can do one room at a time and as long as the cleaning quality is good, timings can still be managed.

  • As mentioned by other members, there's a $50 cashback offer going on Harvey Norman purchases above $300 with Amex card through Amex Connect registration. I have registered my card for Amex Connect benefits today and saved Harvey Norman offer onto it. Do I become eligible to get $50 cashback right away or is there any waiting time after the registration in order to be eligible for $50 cashback on purchases over $300 at say Harvey Norman?

  • Bought V6 standard from Harvey Norman today. Price matched and hopefully $50 cashback will be applied as I used Amex.

    • The funny thing is - sales person at HN said cost to the store itself was $488, however they would match the price and sell it to me at $399, apparently at loss. Dodgy.. lol :-)

      • Funny thing is I was told the same thing too. $480 is their costs price so they are making losses.

anyone had a stock update from JB?

    • i think deal is over now, link has changed

      • I meant for those that ordered at the time.. it was on back-order/awaiting shipping

    • I ordered one in store today and paid for it. It's on back order, will take probably 2 weeks before they get some stock.

    • I ordered at Highpoint, Maribyrnong (VIC)

  • Who else is waiting for delivery?

    • mine arrived last week

      • I ordered when the stock status said awaiting stock.
