The Glenlivet Gift Pack $49.95 @ ALDI

540

700ml Glenlivet 12 YO at what is a fairly typical $49.95 price, however there is a 50ml 15 YO and a 50ml 18 YO bottle also included. Might make a nice gift that can be tucked away for a scotch loving dad for Fathers Day.

That means it isn't available in Queensland then.

The 12yo is being phased out (replaced with Founders Reserve) as they can't keep up with demand. Put a few of these aside for a few years and it will be an even more special gift!

    • not being phased out entirely (it'll still exist in some markets) but they're mostly using it to promote their brand in new markets, "mature" markets (i.e. Australia) will get the Founders Reserve.

The fact that Dan's already stocks the Founders Reserve means it's probably a good time to jump on this.

What's the difference? Not sure glen livet has the same cult following that will drive up the price of the 12yo if stockpiled the same as the old batch johnnie walker green label did as that was a scotch that punched above its weight.

      • I have to agree. It's great for the price, as is the 15yo, but the 12yo will not be a dram in high demand come several years time.

    • I saw the new reserve bottle on sale but its like $60. not sure if its any better.. there no aging associated with the new one. I personally like Glengoyne more anyways. Slightly more expensive ($70 for the 10 yr old) but a much better drop in my opinion

Set aside for a couple of years and it becomes an instant 15 yr old bottle and the 18 yr old 50ml becomes 21 yr old ! Dayummm…what a deal !

  • saw this at costco today, a dollar cheaper i reckon

    • +1

$48.49 at Costco. $1.46 cheaper, but not really a deal for people who don't have a costco card.

      • Is it the same pack at Costco or a different one?

        • +1

          Same

        • same same… and the same.

  • Equates to $43.71 for just a bottle of Glenlivet, not taking into account the age of the extra 100ml of whisky. A 700 12yo is currently selling for $55 at First Choice, so I reckon this is a bargain.

  • Not a bad gift actually, thanks.

I find that not everything in Costco is cheaper. Some in Aldi is cheaper and less quantity to buy as well.

  • Awesome, fathers day sorted.

  • A mouse could get totally fitshaced on one of those little bottles.

  • Can anyone who is Melbourne based let me know where they have seen this in the Melbourne metro area ?

    • My local had it at the registers only. So maybe true for all stores.

    • carrum downs had 6 left this afternoon.

  • This is still kicking around, it's still on the website and I saw North Sydney still had some.
