Would've been easier to state what it did include… =/

This joke was funny the first few times it was posted, but hearing it 500 times it has lost it's appeal just like these deals.

  • +9

    Any bargains though?

  • +10

I really don't want to filter out Dick Smith deals altogether, but I really wish those that are posting would go to the effort in including some actual bargains that can be had with the discounts.

  • +6

seriously? these just aren't genuine deals any more.

Logitech Harmony Smart Universal Remote $74 C&C (if you can find stock, still a few about) - cheapest ever price.

    • Nothing in Melbourne

    • Thanks for the heads up. I bought for the setup in the front rooms (already have it in the back rooms) from bondi for c&c. Best remote system EVER.

  • -6

What the hell does this include?

I tried MEGA45 on http://www.dicksmith.com.au/dick-smith-39-5-fhd-dled-tv-dsau… and got Coupon code "MEGA45" is not valid.

    • It includes that model TV in the exclusions above
      Model #: GE6987

    • I had the same problem with the MEGA25 code. Checked the T&C and the items I'm trying to purchase aren't in the exclusion list. This happened to me another time as well, and I messaged Dickie on Facebook about it. Basically the solution they offered was to buy at normal price, message them with the order number and they'd refund the relevant amount. So, once again I'm messaging them on Facebook to arrange the same thing.

What I can't understand is why they just don't automatically apply the discount for 'valid' products!

      • But that's not the same problem, the GE6987 is clearly stated in the exclusion list so it's an invalid neg.

Dodgy dick and his dodgy sales its like Harvey Norman sale every week nothing on sale wait till tomorrows sale

    • I have to agree, it have become a deal only if you have already decided that you wants to buy the item from them and would have pay the tag price without any discount, and this discount just came in as a bonus.

A deal should be items that you don't need to buy now but bite the bullet because the price is so good.

  • It includes there crappy DSE tvs

  • I was after a pair of Sennheiser Momentum.
Do you have any idea if I can use the price match at office works with the MEGA25 coupon?
That would make the price 169-25-5%.
    thanks ozbargainers!

    • +2

Nope… they won't price match 'codes', only catalogue or advertiesed prices…

      • thanks jv, such a shame… anyone knows where I can get those earphones at lower price? I would like to buy them today so no online stores.

        • +2

would like to buy them today so no online stores.

Get OW to price match the online store, just print out the page with the price…

        • -1

          @jv: cool.
Has any ozbargainers found a good price for the in ear Sennheiser momentum? :) thanks!!!!!

        • +1

          @ets27:

you don't get good prices by deciding you absolutely need it today. In ear momentum's have been below $100 before, just wait for that and live with whatever you have until then.

      • @ets27
I brought my Samsung Galaxy S6 from OW with price match when samsung was offering it with a promotional code on their website for 10% off. According to the store manager on that store, that day, as long as they can use the code without login or any special thing (like buying something else), it is valid.

Or maybe I was with some lucky…

        • I wish I could just bring a new phone from Officeworks. Every time I try and bring one out, they tell me I should have bought it first. Some people get all the luck.

        • @mattgt: That's what happens when you are 24hrs+ without sleeping. I can't find a edit button to change brought to bought :(

  • stupid deal if 90% of their stuff is in the exclusion list. Nice one Dick!

    Dicks wearing thin on me

  • Seagate portable drive for $84 seems ok. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/seagate-backup-plus-1tb-portable…

I'm sure they've been less at some stage but I don't think by much. Anyone know? Might grab one.

    • +2

not great, a quick search shows 1tb portables for as low as $55 in the last month. not terrible if you need one now though

      • Don't really need one immediately, will probably get one anyway. I think the $55 models are the "stock" drives, i.e. the ones without auto back-up/software. The better half is always asking me if her photos are backed up in a couple of places, I think this would help. Amazon indicates that 200GB of cloud storage is available with their Seagates. I wonder if we're able to somehow activate that here?

    • +1

I would get 2TB one for 30 more.

  • Got this for $304
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/jvc-32-81cm-high-definition-…

Seems to be a decent price if you're after 32" led.

    • -2

      Crappppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

      • What's crap about it?
        You have one?
What's not crap at this price point?

        • When you could get a 42" Soniq for $159 from a previous OzBargain deal, everything over that price looks crap. ;)
