R M Williams Up To 50% off Selected Range

110

Up to 50% off selected items/range.
Was advised it applies to most everything, with belts and boots being the exception (yet the link shows boots as part on sale).
I picked up a pair of long UGG Boots made in Australia, from Australian wool for $107, which is 50% off.
Anyone that has recently shopped for UGG's knows that for an Aussie made, using Aussie material boot are not this cheap, anywhere!
No those deals sites are NOT made in Australia and/or from Australian wool, if indeed wool.

EDIT
Added below link, which is an image of my receipt for @jv

How do I add an image from my phone with this site?
Got a picture of the receipt that states otherwise :)
You may reserve you open apology until I manage to post it btw.

        • Updated main post with receipt as promised :)
You may openly afford your formal apology at will now ;)

Upon a more serious note, have you considered the implications of your approach with newer/less experienced members ?
As from my experience, it leaves me less inclined to post future bargains, and that my friend, effects everyone here, inclusive you mate!

Did you know you can block all comments from pests like jv? Just hit hide under one of his/her comments and ✔ the check box to hide comments from user.

I haven't had to see comments from a few serial trolls for nearly a year now and it's made OzBargain is so much more enjoyable.

        • @086:
I'm assuming that down vote is from you @jv and in lieu of your formal apology ?
If wrong, I am open to correction.

        • @OzBragain:

I'm sure @jv affords useful posts at times, so blocking would be counter productive.

Nope! I used to hope for the same thing…

Who in their right mind would pay $215 for ugg boots?

    • +1

Surprisingly a lot of folks actually, all due to the Aussie association with the word "UGG" and it's new found fame in fashion circles.
Is why I went with these actually, they're hand made here, using local materials and at a price that group buy sites advertise for the shorter cut versions, using inferior local natural materials, materials from other countries or synthetic materials.
I've seen long cut's sell for $300, which I agree, is insane!

Yet the old adage of you get what you pay for is true with these.
The better quality items last and perform better.

I can't believe the price of the boots. $475 for ankle boots, even at 50% off that is a pretty incredibly high price to pay.

Edit: Just saw the Stockwhip - $550. WOW.

    • Did you stop to consider the lifetime you're likely to get from them if you afford reasonable care ?
At work, I trash a pair of sneakers in several months.
Once I've saved enough to buy a pair, I'll be ditching the sneakers and saving in the long run.

RM boots, like many English made shoes and boots, are Goodyear welted. The soles are designed to be replaced by a cobler when wearing out.

RM shoes and boots are designed and built to, literally, last a lifetime if cared for with shoe polish/was/cream etc.

    • I don't like RM Willimas style but they are definitely a quality boot.

Different strokes for different folks - Some people like getting a boot with a glued sole and poor quality corrected grain leather that will last 1-2 seasons max for $100-160. Some like getting a boot with high grade leather and a Goodyear welted sole that will last decades depending on care for $500+. Both do their job as intended but I think the cheaper made boots are definitely a false economy as they add up over the years and end up costing more.

Ahh… Their stock is not for us Ozbargainers.

…and is why I've posted this, as iirc, most clothing is 50% off to start with, so you can buy items at a price that's approaching reasonable and last a shitload longer than that T-Shirt from K-Mart for $9 or whatever they're charging for mass produced garbage these days!
What if you tried one to test this theory out ?

  • By the way, it's "almost everything".

    Not "most everything".

  • Can anyone confirm that their hand made boots are also on sale in store? I.e craftsman

    • Went to the store opposite Dymocks book store on George St and found same sale in store as the online one. I did not see and boots on sale though.
