  • Bought one. Thanks TA

    • How's the speaker on the handset? Panansonic handsets were very soft some years back when I have used them.

  • +1

Good deal as it takes AAAs

I brought one of this 6 months ago for the same price, good product consider the price, Dropped the hand set twice on the tile floor, nothing happened to the sound and the handset.

    • +1

      nothing happened to the sound

      No noise on impact?

      • +2
        • The dropper was there, unless he can move very fast.

        • @strangeloops66:
It fell off the bench and onto the floor.

        • +1

          @nismo:

          "Dropped" not "fell" ;)

        • It still makes a sound - it's just that no one is there to hear the sound - but the air still vibrated and sound waves were still transmitted.

If you murder someone and no one is there to witness the murder it doesn't make you innocent - you're still a murderer that got away - it still "happened" as the murdered is still very much dead.

        • +1

          @proudwanderer:

It creates vibrations. Our ears (if functioning correctly) convert those vibrations into sound.

"Sound is the sensation excited in the ear when the air or other medium is set in motion."

        • @strangeloops66:

          Good point! :)

        • +1

          @proudwanderer:

you're still a murderer that got away.

Not if you get caught by evidence.

        • @strangeloops66:
I am aware of the text, however:
"dropped the hand set" could also be "the hand set dropped" considering the English used in the whole story anything is feasible. A name like strangeloops and yet you seem to need everything to be logical? ;)

        • @nismo:

A name like strangeloops and yet you seem to need everything to be logical? ;)

I consider a o,O or an 0 a "strangeloop", that at different sizes of length can be different, in this example zero, which is Logical…..
The 66 component is a mystery deeper than the chopped tree theory.

        • @proudwanderer:

But the murderer was there to witness the murder, so it did happen.

        • @pood:

Not if he has closed his eyes whilst murdering.

        • @googleyahoo69:

Unless the one who was murdered was watching :-)

Except it never happened so he couldn't watch it to begin with.

    • How the receiving volume?
      When speaking to someone?
      Thanks.

      • How is the?
        Or
        How are they?

        • How is the

        • Then depends on your personal hearing levels and device used by the receiver.

        • @ozy: Why?

        • @malouphix: because to know the receiving sound of someone's phone, you would first have to measure the sound output on their phone and then compare that to the "normal" hearing age of someone in the age group of the person receiving your voice/sound.
Also would depend on the volume of your mic that transmits it to them and everything in between the mic and speakers

        • +1

          @ozy: Sounds legit, thanks.

  • How does the cordless thing exactly work?? Would I need to cord one of the handsets and other 2 will behave cordless or is it completely cordless?? Thanks!

    • The phone line will need to be plugged into one of the base.

      • +3

All three bases will also need to be plugged into an AC outlet.

      lol are you serious

      • well, I am serious.. I never had a cordless home phone ever.. and last time I had any home phone (corded one) at all, it was around 10 years ago.. So the reason for naive questions. As always help is appreciated.

        • +4

Basically there is one main base station which requires power and phone line. The 3 handsets are all cordless and communicate with the base station so don't require separate phone socket connections. The other 2 docks are to charge the handset only. You can mix and match where the handsets go but each handset has a number (1,2 or 3) which you use for the intercom (eg, press intercom, then number 2 to call handset 2 from either 1,3 or the base station). Really handy for finding lost handsets lol

        • +1

Awesum. gives much clarity how the handset (deal) could be useful to some. Thanks Viggenn!!

  • How much was this RRP? Do they run under 1.8GHz or 2.4GHz? I don't want interference with Wifi….

  • What's with the specifications?

    • I wouldn't trust anything DSE puts in the specs for any of the products they sell. Use this instead.

  • +1

    Good deal. Thanks TA!

I don't think this is correct tho.

    • Read my comment just above yours.

      • Yes, typical DSE.

        This is the full spec

        • Specs does not show what frequency its on…

Apart from that AAA x 2 and speakerphone + answering machine is a winner

        • +1

          @neonlight:

It is DECT so I am fairly certain it won't affect your wifi signal.

I guess if the wanted to know the exact frequency you can contact panasonic.

        • @Fiximol:

cheers if its DECT then its 1.9GHz

  • does anyone know if its possible to turn off the answering machine? i assume it is but thought it was worth checking. thanks.

    • Usually you do have the option to turn the answering part either on or off, but don't take my word for it. See if you can find a manual online.

      • You can turn off the answering machine on my Panasonic phone system (not this model) but unfortunately if anybody phones up and lets it ring more than about 8 times, the answering machine is automatically turned back on again. Very annoying that it can't be turned off completely. I do notice that this model is GAP compatible though, so I should be able to get the 3 handsets to talk directly with my FritzBox modem and not have to use the base station with answering machine at all.

  • Purchased.

  • Bought thanks was waiting for this to go on sale!

  • bought, thanks.

  • thanks

  • +1

Solid handset got pissed and chucked at the wall ….still work and no cracks

    • Not even the wall?

      • Or maybe had a slow blow to even crack a wall but should be good enough to crack his self esteem.

      • Wall dented prob hit a stud

  • Thanks TA bought one to replace a Uniden set thats about a year old and is great to have AAA batteries.

  • Just purchased, decade old Unidens on the blink. Thanks op.

  • +1

I've set one of the handsets up on a Fritz!Box 7270 ADSL+ modem as a DECT handset. Cheaper than buying the official $109 Fritz!Fon from Internode. Easy to set up.

    • The Panasonic website says that it is GAP capable (for connecting to FritxBox), but the pdf manual from the same site makes no mention of it. Good to know that it works, thanks.

  • Expired, up to $50 now

  • Purchased it while the deal was on and on friday dick smith called that they ran out of stock.
    So they refunded my money.
Did they do this with any one else?
