  • Paid $4.80 or something for a large chips recently. Was shocked. Put me off going back.

They need to be more realistic for a pile of fricking potatoes.

The chips weren't good either (I do enjoy good KFC chips, but you can't rely on them actually being good. And too expensive for a gamble).

Invest in a philips airfryer and u have yummy (and healthier) chips everyday.

    • +3

Isn't that just a glorified oven though? Oven chips are just not the same.

      • +3

Agreed. Just use your existing oven.

  • I bought some o dat Slap Ya Mamma Spicy Pepper this week. It's great for Fries.

  • Finished?

  • this and across the road is JH $3 junior whopper. Done for $4.

    • Polish it off with a Maccas apple pie for $1.50 and ice cream for 50c

    • Shake and Win app, chance to turn that junior whopper into a bacon deluxe, grilled chicken or full sized whopper

personally today i won a large coke to complement my $2 worth of KFC fries :)

  • Tip for reviving cold chips:

Spray with cooking spray oil and nuke. If you don't have any spray oil, use water though it's not quite as good (spray is best but you can drip on instead). Small quantity is key. Enough to keep from drying out without becoming soggy. No they won't be good as new but they will be edible.

    • Nuke as in Microwave?

      • Yep microwave.

    • +1

or you know just oven bake em or grill em…

      • Haven't tried the grill. Key thing is that they not be allowed to dry out.

    • +2

best if you have an air fryer.. two minutes.. no spray.. job done!

    • +4

So essentially your tip for reviving cold chips, is to heat them back up?!

      • +2

My tip is to use oil or water to prevent them from drying up when reheating in the microwave. Are you trolling or just didn't get it?

  • Not excluding Tas well at least not Kingston store which I just visited

  • What on earth has happened to KFC vouchers? They used to last all footy season???

This sh1t gets voted? For $2 I can get a 1kg bag of chips and make 5 of these.

    • +2

    • Aldi 2KG washed spuds $1.99

    • Man.. you've chosen the alias right :)

    • +1

      i give yu fai dolla

If I'm in a food court, I'd rather just pay $1 for this instead of going to woolies, buying the chips, driving home and waiting half an hour for the chips to cook.

I reckon a KFC focus group said:
    - KFC chips are bad
    - we don't goto KFC because the chips are so awful

    So KFC Ad agency recommends:
    - Campaign that claims KFC chips are the world's best
    - $1 campaign to get people in (Lethal combination of TVCs + chicken salt will be enough to change people's minds)

The punchline is that the ad agency (and KFC marketers) got paid (and, stop press: lied)!

  • I just tried KFC after 5 years. It was absolutely disgusting! You call that a burger? You call that chicken?

    /Vomit
I even went to the big one in the city in hopes of getting better quality food.

I love the smell of MSG in the morning!

Here's a great hack if you have a family of five. On your first visit, ask for a receipt with your 4 chips. On the back is a link to a survey you can do. Once it's done, you get a number (that you can reuse on any receipt), write that number down on the second part of your receipt which usually (maybe always) a free small chips and drink on any order of $4.95 or more.

Next visit, present voucher and order 4 small chips and a dinner roll, which comes to $4.95 at my store. So for $4.95 you get 5 chips, a drink and a dinner roll which the dog can play with. Get a receipt from the second visit, rinse and repeat.

Am i the only one that thinks KFC chips taste like cardboard? I mean do they even use real potato? Biting into one of those chips is like biting into paper mache…or a piece of tissue paper you accidentally left in your jeans pocket in the laundry after its dried.

    • Pocket tissue. Yum.

  • Amazing.

  • Did anyone else get hollow chips? Most of the chips I found were rectangular tubes. Bought sunday dinner time from the Dural kfc.

They look great initially, much fatter than the hungry jacks chips which I also bought at the same time. But one bite, and I'm looking right through the chip…

  • It finishes in 5 days
