  • Why no such a company in Sydney?

Agree. Why couldn't they have a store in Sydney

      • Probably going to happen, MSY was just a couple of outlets near me a few years ago now they're all over Australia, if MLN has the same success it's only a matter of time before someone copies it or the expand.

  • wow none in sydney? gonna be a while they come to WA.

So very tempted to get this. I don't need a laptop right now.. but was planning to get one in a few months… hmmmmm

(Need it mostly for photography work while on site/set to check photos after taking them)

Hmmmmmmmm thinking about tax deduction for this.

How is MLN after sales support… can they provide extended warranty?

    • So true, definetly a want, not a need

    • They are a proper computer store, so they are not a discount clearance website or a gigantic retailer that sells dishwashers and pencils,
so yes the support is there, and they do sell warranties and anything IT related, I have been their customer for 4 years now.

  • Prob best notebook deal i've seen so far. This is better than the $599 Dell at Officeworks and $695 Acer at DSE. This one has me sold. Any better options out there anyone?

    • I agree 100%
most of the time their deals are the best,
thats most of the time guys so you should still check to see whats out there.

I have been trying to let everyone know about MLN, as they have gone unnoticed for years. A lot of people in Melbourne know about them, but outside Melbourne not really.
When they have less than 300 units of something, they make it so its only available in store. As sometimes the website can go nuts and oversell.

The West Melbourne crew have been there for around 8 years,
When there is a very large quantity its available online as well, for everyone to take advantage of.

      Comparative deal: $698 T6400/HD4570 Studio 15: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…

Dell Studio 15 has the Intel GM45 chipset. The Asus has the SiS 671DX+968 used in budget systems.

      • You do realise this Asus notebook has a faster processor, more Ram a bigger hard drive a better operating system.
There is clearly at least $200 more value in this Asus notebook at MLN over the Dell deal at officeworks

  • Anyone know the battery life?

    • I've never ran if off power for long. But on High Performance mode I've gotten 2 hours.

  • Good deal. Any reviews out there? Couldn't find anything.

I've bought one of these from CotD in October and been using it everyday since. Great for general use and games, runs Dawn of War II without issues.

Fast and quite quiet in action. The only issue is that it cost me an extra $35-37 for the Windows 7 upgrade and I found the supplied drivers were the same as my SL5R model I bought just before it and were mostly re-branded Vista drivers and the audio ones caused issues. So I've reverted to the Microsoft version.

But the unit itself is good. Does get a little hot over the touch pad. The screen has no latches to hold it down, but that's no issue at the moment. Long term who knows.

It's a shame it's 1366X768, the previous model I had was 1200x800 and you miss that extra height.

      • For win7 upgrade they told me it will just cost $3.45…:D

  • Is anyone in melbourne? can you buy this for me =)

  • Nice 'Catch of the Day' had this for ~$899 late October.

  • Just bought 4 of them for the company and got to say they are fantastic, the best 699 you would ever spend on a laptop.

    • Lol it was u?in Vic market branch? We got one as well…
It's really an awesome deal :P on box sticker it said RRP1499(anyone will buy???)
btw: they said still got plenty of them lol any one who want one just gooo:P
