Credits to Olliethechum for the code

To fill up the requirement for the code, I've used DS 3.5mm Stereo Socket to 2 x 3.5mm Mono Plugs Ear/Headphone Airline Adapter, $3.16, comes out to $75.46.

It's an alright deal for Momentum On-Ear model. There seems to be limited number of stores having the stock, checked 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 2600 with the black colour. Available at Belconnen Canberra, and Norwood and Westlake (for 5000).

Colours include: Blue, Red. The link takes you to the black model.

  • Good price.

I picked up a pair YESTERDAY at OfficeWorks for ~$117 (used HN price match) in Melbourne.

When I checked yesterday, DSE didn't have any stock, so didn't attempt an OW price match.

    • :P Dunno what postcode Melbourne has, so I don't know whether I can comment. From 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, and 2600, it was only available at 2600 and 5000.

      • Yeah, I saw the DSE price when I was searching for a pair. Sadly they were "temporarily out of stock". I thought it was because the v2's are out and they were waiting for a shipment of them. Lots of local DSE's had a pair to try on and listen to, but none for sale.

For anyone in Melbourne wanting a pair (although not as cheap as $75) -
Carnegie in Melb, Victoria had 2 pairs yesterday afternoon. I bought one. So one still on the shelves.
They will price beat Harvey Norman's price of $129 (as they have stock).

Also an opened brown, and unopened Ivory pair at JB in the Warrigal Road home maker centre. Priced at $280 something. The brown pair aren't discounted.

        • I am not sure whether DS brick and mortar store price matches DS online store. I was under the impression that they don't.

        • @AznMitch:

Hi. Unfortunatly, as a rule of thumb, we cannot price match our own website.
Now it is always worth giving the store a call (especially the large ones, since they have more markdown to play with) and see if they are willing to give it to you for the same price + shipping.

I thought the title at first was saying the headphone was $2.70 and normally $75 which would have been a huge bargain. Alas not so.

  • These are awesome and the over ears even better. If you can find them buy them at this price. I have the blues, and the Mrs has the pinks…

One of the reason I've posted this was so that they run out, before I give into the temptation (I do not have a headphone for outdoor usage and this is an alright price) :S It's a good price, but considering that they've released newer models that replaces this model, I think it's normal.

I have far too many headphones LOL. If you miss out on these try…

…similar sound quality, but interesting with the wooden backs, and you can't buy them in OZ, so a bit unique. I got them when they were down to USD39.

You sir (or madam), are evil. My gf is trying to stop me as is already…

Talking about the wooden back, I've heard so many good things about Thinksound on1 On-Ear Wooden Headphone.

I purchased some Sennheiser HD650s while Noisy Motel had the EOFY sale down from $600 to $400. So, I think my headphone buying days are over for a while or the Mrs will kill me. Still, there are lots of nice DAC / amps out there ;-)

        • @mostlygordon: but, you can't outdoor with HD650.

        • No, and the valve DAC / amp can't be either. But jeez the HD 650s sound sweet. Some people think it's a sickness, but different headphones get used for different situations / moods / music as do DAC / amps. It is one expensive hobby though. What ever you do, don't go looking at https://www.massdrop.com/home LOL

        • …or http://www.head-fi.org for that matter.

        • @mostlygordon: Nah, I've already settled with HD600 + $200 DAC/AMP combo. I am simply looking for an earphone and an outdoor headphone (I do use KSC-75s though, they get my personal recommendation for how they sound, even though they are awful in design and comfort.)

        • nice looking headphones gents

        • @AznMitch: Even though I have the momentums and decent IEMs, I am mostly using the Symphonized Wraith's these days. They sound great and are cheep enough that I won't be devastated if I lose them when out and about. But, I paid a lot more fore the Momentums, at this price they are a no-brainer, especially with local pickup.

        • @mostlygordon: KSC-75 + PortaPro Headband is my "cheap disposable can" that I can replace easily. KSC-75 units fit perfectly on PortaPro headband. If it breaks down, I can spend $24 AUD to replace it (that's including the shipping from Amazon, without shipping, it falls under $20 AUD). Though if I have a soldering machine, which I don't, I could probably save more money by changing the cable instead of throwing it out.

Xiaomi Piston 3 is alright too (though for me, the bass was too strong for me; I had to change EQ) for its price (though I am not an earphones person, so there might be better models out there). It's definitely one of the best earphones I've owned, though it's not saying much since I've always gone for meh earphones at around $20~$30.

This price is almost too good of a price to give it a miss (It's been a long time since I gave a miss to MDR-1A at 170ish dollars as well). That said, if I buy everything I feel like buying, I will be broke before next month.

        • @AznMitch:LOL I have Porta Pros in my glove box and Xiaomi's in my laptop bag. We should chat off line you have a similar fetish I see…

        • @mostlygordon: :) There are fair bit of "audiophiles" on Ozbargain (surprisingly). :) We are not alone.

        • @AznMitch: Well, despite your best efforts there are some left in Geelong if you feel like a drive. The Mrs even said I could get them for spares. But I just have so many I can't justify it. If my on-ears die, I'll just go to the over ears. Now, onto some amps. I don't see many on here, so I might set up a new username. TightAmp?
