  • SSD prices seem to be crashing. wonder if its a marketing thing, or a scale thing now that adoption is becoming much more universal.

i look forward to the day when they are at or near parity with mechanical drives.

    • +1

2TB 2.5" SSD drives have just been released so I think we'll continue seeing them drop.

Give it 4-5 more years and they'll be cheaper than mechanical drives.

    • everyone is moving onto 3d nand, these are sort of getting cleared out

  • Now that's what I call cheap. Paid $245 in December last year.

  • +1

I'm still waiting for the day when I wake up and say: "Finally I understand why a crashed Australian Dollar is so good for me."
    Until then…

    • its not hard when you consider you buying HDD's makes up 0% of our overall economic health, and our largest industries making commodities and food for export get paid in foreign pegged currencies, basically giving them a huge dollar boost for the exact same product when the currency is down. and these guys make up like 30% of the economy or whatever.

  • GRRRR! So Cheap!

    Do…Not…Need 480GB… MUST Resist!

  • Don't forget to use 28 Degrees

  • SSD in title maybe?
