I went through and kept choosing "No thanks, I'll do this later". Shows up with 30GB in browser

Anyone used this before? How does it compare to Dropbox/Drive?

I had the $50 unlimited storage deal, after about two weeks use it was clear it wasn’t worth it, even if I did have NBN speeds to store terabytes of data. The syncing feature was a nightmare, not even close to the control or working as seamlessly as Dropbox. My ultimate test was syncing my iPhoto data. This is created as a sparse bundle directory. Pogo like every other cloud storage except Dropbox insisted on breaking up the bundle into an assortment of different folders, and thus would no longer sync, it would just make a god awful mess.
30GB of free storage is still 30GB of free storage. If you have used the 50GB of free you get with Box, Drive etc… then sure use it. It’s free, it can’t hurt. I have 2.5GB of stuff on there now, but that is from when I had paid for it. I never actually access or use their service.
Their Music streaming was pretty decent, video was crap.

Small annoyance that their password field for Log In would not work with LastPass, still doesn’t, so you need to manually enter it. Boo Hoo I know.

      • I see…Thanks mate :)

No boo hoo hoo, it really shits me when sites/apps don't play nice with LastPass too!
Good info on syncing with sparse directories, always wondered about that.

        • Yeah, only Dropbox plays nice with Sparse Bundles out those I have tried, Box, Drive, Micsrosoft thing, Pogo, and about 4 or 5 others I don't remember. My upload speeds suck balls, so it's not even useful using Dropbox to sync 40GB of photos.

      • I'm ALL about the google family, but I find that Dropbox runs rings around Drive. Drive has key issues relating to syncing & being "smart", that have been ignored since the start. I've had my files go pear-shaped, on several machines, with Drive. With Dropbox, it does everything I want, while I just do whatever I normally do.

I played-around with other free cloud storage offers, to sync backups between. Over the top, in the end. Drive & Dropbox is all I need.

  • It seems a little slow, but it might be under load due to the promo.

second the : "No thanks, I'll do this later", 30GB too

Another free storage bin, no idea what to do with this one….
might come in handy as another archive drive

    • What limitations?
I have 50GB free from Box from years ago. Never used it because I couldn't host any individual file over 1MB or some small number. And no sync tool back then.

      • The sharing is quite limited in either on or off with no other security available unless you upgrade…
So I guess they are hoping ppl like the service and want to pay $$…
Not here.. I like Free stuff….

  • Loves me free storage.

  • How does this compare with copy?

I don't know why people don't use Mega more
    https://mega.co.nz

It's really fast, 50GB free tier, has an app for every major phone OS, browsers and sync client.

Mega is the shit! and Kim Dot Com makes it even better haha…I love Mega. I use it when i go on holidays. Take my snaps and then upload overnight when i'm on the hotel's Wifi. Really quick service, and i agree. More people need to jump onto this. Uploading from both a Computer or phone is soooo easy.
