  I Won't + or - the deal, but I've given up on bitdefender after 3+ years of use. I found the firewall in total security to cause problems with several laptop's wifi and power management drivers (even when deactivated), and its resident scanner constantly uses up ~2GB of ram. I used just the antivirus plus edition for a year, but the problems with memory usage didn't go away. Have since moved on to another free alternative.

    Me too. Never know why BD ranks 1st in Fastest System Speed for years. When in use, it slows my laptop down significantly.

    I use a free anti-virus program + Windows default firewall. I think that's enough.

      I have had a great experience with BD, infact bought a paid 3 year license. Works well on all my computers.

        Ah ha ha. My laptop only has 2GB of RAM so anything like BitDefender, Kaspersky will definitely be a disaster to use with.

      Would highly recommend you try Tinywall then, it uses the windows firewall core but just makes its functionality easier to maintain.

        Tried it before. It worked well. However, I think Windows default firewall is enough for me, no need to use extra protection.

  Can you install just the AV portion of this? When I turn off the Firewall I get a red X with issues reported that won't go away, because I turned off the firewall.
